Application Performance Monitoring

APM

Oracle Application Performance Monitoring provides the information you need to quickly identify and fix problems in applications.

Performance Monitoring Application

Oracle Application Performance Monitoring provides development and operations teams with the information they need to quickly identify and fix problems in applications with a global view, that is, from the user experience, queries from application servers to Log files.

  1. With Oracle APM, administrators can quickly isolate a problem before it impacts the application and therefore the business.
  2. Oracle APM eliminates barriers between development and operations teams.
  3. Oracle APM provides a way for teams to deliver a better application.

End-User Performance

Oracle Application Performance Monitoring collects performance for each page of the application that is automatically instrumented by the agent deployed at the application server.

Thus, the administrators can see the maximum, the minimum and the average for each of the reported performances and thus understand which customers are affected, and whether this is down to browser type, geographical location or specific requests being executed on specific application servers.

Administrators can see which component of the application affects performance and understand whether performance is impacted by a server-side or client-side component. Oracle Application Performance Monitoring correlates page performance with server queries.

Application Request Monitoring

Administrators have a view of the application's performance and the load on resources used by the application. This allows them to understand and solve complex problems related to slowdowns.

  • Which queries consume the most resources or too many resources?
  • How does the application work under load?

All this information is dynamically discovered, classified and managed.

Application Server Performance

Oracle Application Performance Monitoring also collects performance metrics from the application server(s) (CPU, Memory, Threads, Garbage Collector, etc.).

These metrics are very useful for understanding resource consumption and understanding problems in the context of the actual workload.

Oracle Application Performance Monitoring allows you to pinpoint where the problem occurs. Often, the cause of it is described in a log file. From the Oracle APM pages, administrators can directly access log files for their application contextually.
