South-West England police force serving 1.7 million people consolidates finance and HR systems on the cloud to increase productivity and enhance employee experience
Oracle CloudWorld Tour, London—17 April 2023Avon and Somerset Police, the police force based in South-West England, has selected Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications to help make its operations more efficient and support its vision to deliver outstanding policing for everyone. With Oracle Fusion Applications, Avon and Somerset will be able to connect business processes to improve insights, increase productivity, and enhance the employee experience.
Serving citizens across Bristol, Bath, Somerset and South Gloucestershire, Avon and Somerset Police has a long-standing record of innovation in its use of data and new technologies to manage its operations and serve its communities. However, Avon and Somerset’s use of a highly-customised on-premises ERP system had begun to impact its productivity and its mandate to boost resources for frontline policing services. In order to connect and standardise business processes, Avon and Somerset Police decided to replace its SAP system with Oracle Fusion Applications.
“We need to evolve and modernise our operational approach as we align ourselves with new and growing service demands and public expectations, as well as the rapidly-changing needs of our workforce,” said Nick Adams, chief officer for finance, resources and innovation at Avon and Somerset Police. “Oracle Fusion Applications gives us the most comprehensive suite of business applications, enabling us to create efficiencies across the system, boost the capacity and preparedness of our frontline workforce, and focus our resources where we need them.”
Avon and Somerset Police will be implementing Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), and Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) With Oracle Fusion Applications, Avon and Somerset will be able to connect data from across its business functions to break down organisational silos, enhance controls and compliance, improve insights, and better align financial and operational planning. Avon and Somerset Police will also be able to adapt its people strategy to new service demands with an integrated HR platform that unifies all processes across the employee lifecycle and improves the employee experience. Avon and Somerset Police has selected Oracle Integration Cloud to connect key data between Fusion Applications Suite and other applications with its new SaaS based Totalmobile Workforce Rostering Solution to become more productive and efficient in planning shift patterns.
“Public sector organisations are under enormous pressure to keep up with the pace of change, and the cloud offers opportunities to innovate and stay ahead,” said Guy Armstrong, senior vice president of applications, Oracle UK and Ireland. “With Oracle Fusion Applications, Avon and Somerset Police now has an integrated business platform that can help it meet both its current and future needs, and better service its staff and the public.”
The implementation will be delivered by Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) member Namos Solutions.
