Dublin Port Company Moves Financial Planning to Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM

Major port operator turns to Oracle to improve insights and operational agility as it manages major expansion

DUBLIN20 June 2022

Oracle today announced that Dublin Port Company (DPC), the operator of Ireland’s largest freight and passenger port, is implementing Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) to enhance its operations and support its ongoing expansion. Oracle EPM will help DPC increase the accuracy of its planning, budgeting and forecasting to improve insights and decision-making across its organisation. The implementation will be delivered by Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) member, Intelligent Enterprises.

Dublin Port handles two-thirds of Ireland’s port traffic and over half of the country’s total trade. Amid significant traffic growth over the last decade, DPC has launched a major redevelopment program to increase the port’s capacity and modernise its facilities. To meet its goals, it needed to automate and streamline its financial planning processes to control and manage resources and improve reporting capabilities more effectively.

“In an uncertain market environment, we need to operate with a greater degree of adaptability and resilience to provide consistent service to our customers as we innovate,” said Marie Porter, Finance Manager, Dublin Port Company. “Oracle Cloud EPM gives us real-time access to critical information about our operations and performance, which enables us to increase efficiency, reduce risk, and provide our leaders with the real-time information they need to make well-informed decisions that move the business forward.

Oracle Cloud EPM will enable DPC to better connect operational and financial data across its HR, finance, procurement and sales functions to improve management insights, accelerate decision-making and enhance its business modelling and planning. Moving business processes to Oracle Cloud EPM will also help it eliminate manual processes in financial reporting to improve the speed, accuracy and insights of reports.

“The logistics sector is facing significant challenges as it navigates recent disruptions and the on-going global supply chain crisis,” said John Donnelly, Country Leader Ireland at Oracle. “With Oracle Cloud EPM, DPC will be able to leverage emerging technologies, such as machine learning and intelligent process automation, to gain real-time business insights, accurately plan and forecast, and quickly respond to future challenges.”

“Intelligent Enterprises is honoured to be selected by DPC to deliver Oracle Cloud EPM,” said Michelle MacDonagh, CEO, Intelligent Enterprises. “We look forward to working in partnership with Oracle and DPC to enable them enhance their operations, support their ongoing expansion and respond to future challenges by providing them with the tools to gain real-time insights into their data and accurately plan and forecast across the organisation.”
