The University of Greenwich is implementing Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)as part of its focus on digital transformation to provide staff and students with innovative and adaptable resources and technology. Oracle Cloud ERP will integrate seamlessly with the existing Oracle Cloud HCM system, allowing the university to break down organizational silos, standardize processes and manage financial, planning and workforce data on a single integrated cloud platform to deliver a world class education.
The University of Greenwich was founded in 1891, with its main campus at the Old Royal Naval College on the banks of the River Thames. The University continues to attract students from all over the world, providing world class teaching and research across a full range of subjects.
The university’s finance team needed a modern, secure and scalable cloud-based system that would connect finance and HR processes to improve productivity and collaboration, enhance business visibility and optimize the remote employee experience. The team selected Oracle Cloud ERP to compliment its Oracle Cloud HCM investment and Namos Solutions, a member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) was selected as the implementation partner.
“At Greenwich we’re always striving to deliver the best possible experience to our staff and students,” said Louise Watson, chief finance officer, The University of Greenwich. “To do this we needed to transform our finance processes with the ultimate aim of delivering value to the student. “Simplifying our IT systems allows us to focus efforts on the issues that make the greatest difference to the student experience,” said Paul Butler, chief information officer, the University of Greenwich. “The university needed a finance system that would give it the capability to adapt and improve, helping meet any challenges that lie ahead.”
Oracle Cloud ERP will enable The University of Greenwich to automate and centralise key business functions including financials, procurement and project management to increase productivity, reduce costs and improve controls. Additional performance management project will also be undertaken to enhance student number planning and help support the university in volatile times.
“Universities are having to overhaul the way they both teach their students and allow their staff to work,” said Liam Nolan, Vice President, Cloud Applications Development, ERP EMEA. “By combining the capabilities of Oracle Cloud ERP with the existing Oracle Cloud HCM solution, the University of Greenwich will be able to ensure it has the tools to allow its staff to continue providing the best eduction possible.”
“Over the past 12 months the University of Greenwich and Namos have built up an excellent working relationship,” said Chris Mason, CEO, Namos Solutions. “This partnership has been reflected in the success of the HCM project. As we shift our focus to finance and ERP, I have no doubt this relationship will endure and we will deliver another successful implementation of Oracle Cloud.”
