Pete has influenced infrastructure strategy and architecture for numerous entities across public and commercial sectors. Public sector experience includes Department of Energy, Department of Commerce, Health and Human Services, Food and Drug Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, and State and Local. Private sector experience includes the primary mortgage market, secondary mortgage market, Financial Services, and Capital Markets. Pete’s recent activities include the following:
- Established large-scale SOA initiative for a large federal agency that became a centerpiece of an agency-wide IT transformation effort
- Established IT governance board for a large federal agency
- Led architecture efforts for 450-database consolidation and upgrade effort for a large federal agency. Provided expertise for Oracle Exadata and Exalogic
- Designed an enterprise alignment framework to promote and measure alignment between multiple lines of business and enterprise data strategic plan
- Led expansive IT services catalog effort focused on a customer-centric view of enterprise data architecture
- Worked across 3 lines of business and teams supporting more than 40 systems to architect transformation of a major business channel and align to enterprise operational plan
- Led architecture efforts for an industry-changing, service-oriented default management platform
- Led IT application portfolio efforts, introducing the concepts of portfolio managers and a balanced scorecard
- Led IT commercial products portfolio efforts introducing a “product capabilities scorecard” that drove a 20% reduction in IT products
- Led project-turnaround for large-scale ERP implementation with focus on system stabilization, performance tuning, and capacity planning
Education
Pete has a Master's Degree from Johns Hopkins University with an emphasis in Computer Science. Pete has also been formally trained in ITIL and Lean Six Sigma.
