Collect and download diagnostic data
1. Collect diagnostic data
- In the Identity Cloud Service console, expand the Navigation Drawer, click Settings, and then click Diagnostics.
- Select Activity View, and then click Save.
- Oracle Identity Cloud Service captures diagnostic data for the next 15 minutes. Use this time to reproduce the problem.
2. Download diagnostic data
- Expand the Navigation Drawer , then click Reports.
- Click Diagnostic Data.
- Select CSV as the report format, click Download Report, and then save the report file.
Debug using the diagnostic information
3. Open the Diagnostic Data report
- Open the CSV file using a spreadsheet editor
(such as Microsoft Excel).
- Enable the spreadsheet filter
(in Microsoft Excel, click Data, and then select Filter).
Your spreadsheet editor will display filter check boxes for each column.
4. Debug diagnostic events
- To isolate administrative events in Oracle Identity Cloud Service, select admin from the Component column drop-down list.
- To isolate login and logout events, select SSO from the Component column drop-down list.
- To isolate application integration and OAuth events, select OAuth and Authorization/getAllowedScopes from the Component column drop-down list.
- To verify events chronologically, select Select All Component from the Component column drop-down list.
By default, the CSV file displays all events chronologically, starting with the most recent events.
Take troubleshooting actions
5. Troubleshoot a custom application
- To isolate application integration and OAuth events, select OAuth and Authorization/getAllowedScopes from the Component column drop-down list.
- In the diagnostic log, look for messages with application errors (such as Error request: Client authentication failed).
- Use the error log to identify and isolate the error in your custom application.
(As an example, you typically see the Error request: Client authentication failed when your application is providing incorrect values for the client ID and the client secret.)
6. Troubleshoot Oracle Identity Cloud Service
- In case you encounter errors with Oracle Identity Cloud Service components, close your CSV file.
- Go to https://support.oracle.com and sign in with your credentials.
- Click Switch to Cloud Support.
- In the Cloud Dashboard, confirm that there are no planned outages for Oracle Identity Cloud Service, and then click Create Service Request.
- Select Oracle Identity Cloud Service as the service type.
- Complete your service request.
You're done!
