Oracle Mobile Cloud Service - Setting Up Your Service Instance
Finalize your account
1. Change your password
- When you or someone on your behalf orders Mobile Cloud Service (MCS), the email account specified as the Subscription/Account Admin on the order form will receive an email with a temporary password. Let’s assume that person is you.
- In the email, click the My Services URL and log in with your user ID and temporary password.
- Follow the prompts to create a new password and security questions. (You won't be able to use your temporary password twice!)
Set up your service
2. Create a service instance
- Before you can start using MCS, you must create an instance of the service. From the Oracle Cloud My Services page, click Create Instance on the right, then select Mobile Environment Service from the drop-down.
- On the Create New Mobile Environment Service Instance page, specify a name for your instance, then click Next.
- Answer Yes on the confirmation page, then click Create Service Instance to provision your new service.
This can take 2-3 hours. You'll know it's done when the status changes to Active.
3. Tie your instances together
- Repeat these steps to create other instances, assuming you have purchased subscriptions to do so.
Now you need to associate all your MCS instances with your UI instance, so you’ll be able to swap artifacts between them.
- Here's how: for each instance you create, when you get to the Create New Mobile Environment Service Instance page, select the name of your original UI instance from the Associations drop-down.
4. Set up your users
- On the My Services page, click Users in the upper right, then use the Add button to create new team members (someone who uses MCS to create mobile apps; not a mobile app user).
- While on the Add User screen, assign each team member ALL the available roles for the Development environment, except for the Mobile Business Role.
Use that role (and that role only) for team members you want to go straight to MAX (Mobile Application Accelerator), the low-code way to build mobile apps.
- If you want a team member to be able to create other users, assign the Identity Domain Administrator role to that user on the Add User screen.
5. Get to the good stuff
- When you're done adding team members, click Open Service Console on the My Services page.
You're done!
