Advanced Job Forecasting
Advanced Job Forecasting System [540 : 05-Oct-2015]
Customers who work on projects with low margins need the ability to assess the forecasted cost and revenue to a very detailed level. The Advanced Job Forecasting programs enable users to:
1. Create unit-based forecasts based on unit cost, units completed, adjusted unit price, or units remaining.
2. Create lump sum forecast with override data that comes from field workers. For example, a change in unit price, change in subcontractor cost, or additional committed costs to occur that are not yet recorded.
3. View additional time and material forecasts.
4. View additional revenue forecasts.
5. Create notes at the header and line level within the forecast.

Carbon Permits Management [150 : 17-Jan-2014]
Emissions trading or cap-and-trade is a market-based approach used to control pollution by providing economic incentives for achieving reductions in the emissions of pollutants. Governments set a limit or cap on the amount of a pollutant that may be emitted. The limit or cap is allocated or sold to firms in the form of emissions permits which represent the right to emit or discharge a specific volume of the specified pollutant. Firms are required to hold a number of permits (or carbon credits) equivalent to their emissions. Typically, in carbon tax and emission trading schemes, significant penalties apply for not surrendering the correct amount of permits by the compliance date. Companies need to establish processes to actively manage trading of permits, such as funding purchases when needed and understanding which permits can be used to meet their liabilities.
Change: Added in Release 9.1 Update 2
Status: AvailableType: FeatureIndustry: (All Industries)

Automatic Table Cache Refresh [20 : 06-Feb-2014]
This new enhancement provides for the automatic clearing of certain table caches when updates occur. This will enable data to be changed and made available to users without the downtime previously associated with this process.
Many applications that update data in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne will be modified to enable this automatic clearing of the table cache. An example of this type of application is the Company Constants (P0010)application.
Table caching is a feature within JD Edwards EnterpriseOne that improves the performance of many applications. This is done by caching tables that are necessary for many processes to limit the number of data base operations. These tables contain setup data such as constants and master tables. The main characteristic of cached tables is that the data in these tables does not change on a regular basis.
One limitation of table caching is that if data is updated, users do not have immediate access to the new information.
Change: Added in Release 9.1 Update 2
Status: AvailableType: Industry:

Individual and Group DBA Limits [1001 : 08-Apr-2015]
The Deduction, Benefit, and Accrual (DBA) Setup functionality for limits enables users to set up a DBA with limits that apply to an individual DBA or to a DBA as a part of a group. To complete this setup, use the Group Limits (P059130) form that can be accessed from Advanced DBA Information. Tabs on the Advanced DBA Information form display Individual Limits and Group Limits.
Use a UBE to convert any existing DBA group limits from the current table to a new table (F069130). Group limit override information, such as found in Employee DBA Instructions or Group Plan Setup, can also be converted to group limit tables.
Special Information:
The ability to establish limits for DBAs at the DBA level and for the DBA as part of a group supports a variety of use cases. A use case specifically addressed as a part of this feature applies to 401k and 401k Roth DBA setups that include associated catch up contribution DBAs.
Additional enhancements address limits across the 401k or Roth and the associated catch up DBAs to honor an employee's total contribution percentage in the pay period when the employee reaches the 401k or 401k Roth annual limit and the catch up DBA begins to calculate (for employees 50 and older). This functionality is also dependent on the setup found on the U.S. Legislative/Regulatory form as follows: the 401k DBA is flagged as 401K Deferral, the 401k catch up DBA is flagged as 401K CU2 less than 50, and the 401k Roth and Roth catch up DBAs are both flagged as Roth IRA.
Change: Added in Release 9.2 (previously released April 2014)
Status: AvailableType: FeatureIndustry: (All Industries)
Benefits: Provides greater flexibility for setting up DBAs and limits.
Reduces overall DBA maintenance and manual oversight.
Cost Objects Included in Journal Entries [40 : 17-Jan-2014]
The integration of time entry and the Advanced Cost Accounting (ACA) system provides more detailed ability to indicate how time was spent performing certain activities. If the Cost Management Constant for activating cost objects in the Cost Management Constants table (F1609) is turned on, the time entry application activates the cost object fields on the Speed Time Entry Revisions form. If the cost object fields are activated, the application displays four columns for cost objects, four for cost object types, and one for item. These cost object fields allow the capture of additional information on timecards that can be used for more discrete financial reporting and analysis.
Prior to this enhancement, while cost objects were allowed for timecards and were also updated to Employee Transaction History (F0618), the cost objects were not included in payroll journal entries. Therefore, any cost object information in Employee Transaction History (F0618) would need to be processed in ACA to Driver Balances (F1632) in order to be included in activity evaluations. Now, the cost objects are included in the payroll journal entries for posting to the General Ledger and are therefore automatically available for cost accounting processing.
Change: Added in Release 9.1 Update 2
Status: AvailableType: FeatureIndustry:
Benefits: 1. Cost object detail automatically included in payroll journal entries.
2. Better tracability between the timecard and the associated journal entries.
3. Eliminates extra steps in ACA to include timecard costing information.
Copy Group Plan DBA Instructions [50 : 17-Jan-2014]
Deductions, Benefits, and Accruals(DBAs)can be assigned to a group of employees through Group Plan DBA instructions. Group Plan setup makes it easier to maintain and manage the assignment of DBAs for groups of employees. With this enhancement, Payroll administrators can copy group plans to new group plan structures. Copy Single and Copy Multiple functions are available so users can select to copy a single or multiple group plan instructions.
Change: Added in Release 9.1 Update 2
Status: AvailableType: FeatureIndustry:
Benefits: Reduce the manual effort needed to update and maintain group plan instructions.
Examples: Users can inquire on existing group plan instructions and copy them with new group values. For example, when DBA information changes for a particular Union and Business Unit, the user can copy the DBA instructions with new effective dates.
Preserve Employee Tax Method During Payroll Processing [60 : 17-Jan-2014]
An employee's Tax Method (FICM) specifies the method of tax calculation for the Vertex tax calculation system to use to calculate certain taxes. For example, a U.S. employee may use a normal tax method or may be FICA/Medicare exempt, a contract employee, or a pensioner. A Canadian employee may be exempt from EI or exempt from CPP and QPP.
An employee's Tax Method is part of the key for storing payroll history. An employee's Tax Method corresponds to the Tax History Type (THTY) used when creating payroll history and therefore how payroll information is aggregated and reported.
Previously, if an employee's Tax Method changed after Pre-Payroll, the system would use the employee's new Tax Method when updating to history during Final Update. This enhancement preserves the employee's original Tax Method throughout pay cycle processing. The tax method that is present in the Payment Work Table (F07350) is used when updating to the various payroll history tables.
Change: Added in Release 9.1 Update 2
Status: AvailableType: FeatureIndustry:
Benefits: Changes to an employee's Tax Method after a payroll has been initiated does not affect that active payroll. Therefore, data integrity is preserved.
Examples: An employee has a Tax Method of blank (normal), and is currently locked to a payroll cycle. After Pre-Payroll was run, the employee's Tax Method was changed to 2 (Federal/State exempt). When Final Update for the active payroll is run, the employee's original Tax Method of blank (normal) is preserved when updating to history tables.
Auto Deposit Remainder Record [70 : 17-Jan-2014]
This feature addresses the ability to have multiple, effective-dated auto deposit remainder records in Auto Deposit Instructions (P055011). Previously, a dates invalid error was received when entering start and stop dates for instructions with multiple remainder records.
Dates on the remainder records must not overlap and one remainder record must exist for auto deposits with a blank end date. When multiple remainder records exist with start and stop dates, the most current remainder record must have a start date and a blank end date.
Change: Added in Release 9.1 Update 2
Status: AvailableType: FeatureIndustry: (All Industries)
Benefits: The feature provides the ability to maintain prior auto deposit instructions including remainder recrods.
Payroll (Australia and New Zealand)
Australia Payroll Superstream [30 : 21-Apr-2015]
The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Australia SuperStream functionality enables customers to extract the data required for the new SuperStream Standard for reporting superannuation contributions for Australia. The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) adopted international eCommerce standards for SuperStream through an initiative known as Standard Business Reporting (SBR). SBR requires superannuation data to be reported in eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL), which is then transmitted to various funds via web services. One XBRL file allows reporting of only one fund per file and there are hundreds of funds to be reported. Because of the complexity in creating and transmitting so many messages, employers are expected to use a third party clearing house that accepts a single report and payment from the employer, and distributes the data and contributions to each individual fund. The clearing house will accept Superannuation data from employers in the SuperStream alternative file format – CSV format. The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Australia Payroll SuperStream functionality enables customers to generate the appropriate Superannuation data in CSV format.
Due to the complexity of handling the data in the XBRL format, it is expected that the customers will be responsible for providing this data to a clearing house for conversion to XBRL and then submission to the proper government agency.
Change: Added in Release 9.2 (previously released April 2015)
Status: AvailableType: FeatureIndustry: (All Industries)
Benefits: The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Australia SuperStream functionality enables you to conform to the Australia SuperStream Standard by reporting over the Superannuation data in the format specified by the Australian Tax Office (ATO).
Payroll (United States)
Prevailing Wage Processing [60 : 21-Apr-2014]
The Davis-Bacon Act and other related acts stipulate that contractors and subcontractors performing on federally funded or assisted contracts must pay their workers no less than the prevailing wage and fringe benefts rates for corresponding work on similar projects in the area.
Prevailing Wage Processing provides customers the ability to identify prevailing wage and fringe rates, to compare an employee's actual pay and fringe to the prevailing rates, and to generate any additional payments to the employee. Four methods for calculating adjustments are provided.
Prevailing Wage Processing occurs during the Pre-Payroll step of the Payroll Cycle. During Pre-Payroll processing, the system will compare an employee's actual pay and fringe benefits received to the prevailing rates that have been identified for the Union, Business Unit, and Job Type or Step. Based on one of three prevailing wage methods, the system will generate any pay due through a timecard or benefit transaction.
Change: Added in Release 9.1 Update 2
Status: AvailableType: FeatureIndustry:
Benefits: 1. Automate the process for comparing wage and fringe rates and generating pay adjustments.
2. Eliminate the need for calcuations outside of the payroll system.
3. Increase accuracy of payroll payments.
Examples: In Douglas County, Colorado, the prevailing rates for a bulldozer operator performing highway construction are $26.90 plus $5.59 in fringe benefits per hour. During the Prevailing Wage process, the system calculates that the employee is receiving $26.90 in pay per hour and $4.39 in fringe benefits per hour. The prevailing wage process creates a timecard with the additional $1.20 per hour that is due to the employee.

Exclude Timecards from Overtime Allocation Based on Pay Type [470 : 17-Jan-2014]
In Timecard Automation, overtime accumulator rule processing allows the user to specify a list of pay types that should not be reduced and reallocated to overtime timecards. Those timecards will still be included when determining if the employee has incurred overtime, but they will not be affected when the overtime timecard hours are created.
The pay type exclusion lists can be created at one of three levels: the Rule level, the Rule Set level, and the System level.
Change: Added in Release 9.1 Update 2
Status: AvailableType: FeatureIndustry: (All Industries)
Benefits: This feature provides the ability to exclude timecards, such as paid time off timecards, from overtime allocation.
