Reports using OracleBI Discoverer Plus OLAP
Discoverer Plus OLAP is a component of OracleBI
Discoverer. It enables easy access to the power of Oracle OLAP (On
Line Analytic Processing). The OLAP data resides in an Oracle database,
and may be stored in a relational star schema or mutidimensional
schema, called an analytic workspace.
Using Discoverer Plus OLAP, you can create
worksheets that enable sophisticated OLAP analysis. Access to the
OLAP data is made easy through the use of wizards and Discoverer's
familiar user-interface. The power of Oracle OLAP is exposed through
the integration of Oracle BI Beans query and calculation wizards.
The definitions of objects that you create
using Discoverer Plus OLAP are stored in XML format in the Discoverer
Catalog. The catalog is configured in an Oracle database. Discoverer
end users seemlessly access these objects when they open the Discoverer
Plus OLAP worksheets.
In this Oracle by Example series of lessons,
you will learn how to:
 |
Connect to an Oracle OLAP data source. |
 |
Create
worksheets that contain crosstabs and graphs of OLAP data, and
use many Discoverer Plus OLAP analytic techniques. |
 |
Save analytic
objects to, and access them from, the Discoverer Catalog. |
 |
Share the
Discoverer Plus OLAP workbook with other Discoverer users. |
