This illustration shows the NetBeans IDE 8.0 navigation tree on the Projects tab. The MavenWebapp project is expanded and displays the following folders: Web Pages, Source Packages, Other Sources, Dependencies, Java Dependencies, and Project Files. 
The Project Files folder is expanded and displays the pom.xml, nb-configuration.xml, and settings.xml files. The pom.xml file is selected and displays a context menu with three commands (Open, Run Maven, and Validate XML).
