Open a submittal to begin documenting the review cycle. In a submittal document, track the review cycle via these steps:

• Use the Status tab to track progress.
• Reference the Ball in Court field to identify the responsible person.
• Review the length of time the Ball in Court contact has had the submittal using the Days Held field.
• Determine the length of time since the start of the review cycle in the Days Elapsed field.
• Review the Days Overdue of a submittal. Days Overdue = Current System Date - Required Finish Date

Use Alerts in the Control Center to notify you when submittals are held longer than a defined amount of days or when submittals are overdue.

In the following exercise, Steve Johnson of ACME General Contractors needs to document the review cycle of the Gray Brick Sample. This item needs to be reviewed by Chris Atkinson of the Design Group.
