Column Definitions:
Report = New or modified, Oracle-delivered, ready to run reports.
UI or Process-Based: Small Scale = These UI or process-based features are typically comprised of minor field, validation, or program changes. Therefore, the potential impact to users is minimal.
UI or Process-Based: Larger Scale* = These UI or process-based features have more complex designs. Therefore, the potential impact to users is higher.
Features Delivered Disabled = Action is needed BEFORE these features can be used by END USERS. These features are delivered disabled and you choose if and when to enable them. For example, a) new or expanded BI subject areas need to first be incorporated into reports, b) Integration is required to utilize new web services, or c) features must be assigned to user roles before they can be accessed.
Ready for Use by End Users Reports plus Small Scale UI or Process-Based new features will have minimal user impact after an update. Therefore, customer acceptance testing should focus on the Larger Scale UI or Process-Based* new features. |
Customer Must Take Action before Use by End Users Not disruptive as action is required to make these features ready to use. As you selectively choose to leverage, you set your test and roll out timing. |

These are great resources for the latest updates and information about EPM Cloud.
A new version of EPM Automate is now available. This version introduces the calculateModel, groupAssignmentAuditReport, and runIntegration commands. This version also contains changes to the recreate command. Additionally, the behavior of commands used to manage users, Access Control groups, and roles (addUsers, addUsersToGroup, addUserToGroups, assignRole, createGroups, deleteGroups, importSnapshot, removeUsers, removeUserFromGroups, removeUsersFromGroup, unassignRole, and updateUsers) have been updated so that the values of User Login, Group Name, and Role Name parameters are now treated as case insensitive. Further, the EPM Automate documentation has been updated to identify the commands that work with the Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management application.
Applies to: Account Reconciliation, Enterprise Data Management, Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management, Financial Consolidation and Close, FreeForm, Narrative Reporting, Planning, Planning Modules, Profitability and Cost Management, Tax Reporting
calculateModel Command
This command calculates models in Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management applications.
groupAssignmentAuditReport Command
This command creates a report listing users and groups that were added to or removed from Access Control groups for a specified date range. Each row of the generated CSV file identifies the user or group that was added or removed, the group which the user or group was added to or removed from, the Service Administrator who performed the action, and the date and time when the action was completed.
A Sample groupAssignmentAuditReport
runIntegration Command
This command executes a Data Integration job to import data into an EPM Cloud business process or export data from a business process to an external system.
Updates to the recreate Command
This command has been enhanced to convert a Profitability and Cost Management environment to Planning, Enterprise Planning, or an Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management environment.
Updates to the Behavior of Commands Used to Manage Users, Access Control Groups, and Roles
The following commands have been updated to to ignore the case in which User Login, Group Name, and Role Name values are specified in the input text files. For example, the value of User Login John.doe@example.com is treated as being identical to John.Doe@example.com or any variation in its case.
- addUsers
- addUsersToGroup
- addUserToGroups
- assignRole
- createGroups
- deleteGroups
- importSnapshot
- removeUsers
- removeUserFromGroups
- removeUsersFromGroup
- unassignRole

Customization of Logout URL in SSO-Enabled EPM Cloud (OCI Gen 2)
Starting with this update, you can use a custom logout URL for SSO-Enabled EPM Cloud OCI (Gen 2) environments. This feature allows you to specify a custom page of your choice (usually an identity provider page) as the landing page when you sign out. This custom logout page is maintained even if you recreate your environment.
Applies to: Account Reconciliation, Enterprise Data Management, Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management, Financial Consolidation and Close, FreeForm, Narrative Reporting, Planning, Planning Modules, Profitability and Cost Management, Tax Reporting
Business Benefit: Using a custom logout page helps you redirect users to a web page of your choice instead of the default page.

Formalization of Snapshot States
EPM Cloud now uses standardized snapshot states to identify artifact export and archive operations in progress, for example, during the daily maintenance of the environment. EPM Cloud uses the snapshot state to display appropriate messages when you use EPM Automate commands that perform snapshot-related operations (copySnapshotFromInstance, cloneEnvironment, deleteFile, downlodFile, listFiles, and renameSnapshot) and the Clone Environment feature.
Applies to: Account Reconciliation, Enterprise Data Management, Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management, Financial Consolidation and Close, FreeForm, Narrative Reporting, Planning, Planning Modules, Profitability and Cost Management, Tax Reporting
For example, if you attempt to clone an environment that is in the process of generating or archiving the current snapshot (Artifact Snapshot) during the daily maintenance, you will receive the File not found error. This error will also be displayed if you use the copySnapshotFromInstance, cloneEnvironment, deleteFile, downlodFile, listFiles, and renameSnapshot command while the daily maintenance of the environment is in progress.
Business Benefit: This update helps identify why a snapshot is not available during certain operations.

Add Property to Node Types in Property Inspector
A property can be added to node types of applications directly from the Property inspector. This allows you to assign the property to one or more node types of the same or different applications without having to navigate to each Node Type inspector. Application and node type overrides for the parameters of the property can then be defined in the Property inspector to complete any remaining configuration necessary.
Business Benefit: When overriding property parameters at the application or node type level, it is a convenience to add the property to applications and node types directly from the Property inspector.

Attributes for Account Dimension in Financial Consolidation and Close Adapter
Attributes can be managed for the Account dimension of a Financial Consolidation and Close application in Enterprise Data Management. During registration of a Financial Consolidation and Close application, the Define Attributes screen is now available for Account dimensions where attributes can be set up as a Simple Attribute or an Attribute Dimension.
Business Benefit: The same attribute management functions for the Account dimension are available as were previously for the Entity, Custom, and Movement dimension types.

Audit Configuration Changes to User and Group Permissions
Configuration changes to user and group permissions can be audited for governance and reporting purposes. The Permissions tab of the Audit page displays changes to permissions for all applications and their data chains. You can filter the results by data chain object, view, user, and time frame.
Business Benefit: Auditing permissions enables organizations to identify changes to user security over time for governance and compliance reasons.

Delete Views with All Deleted Viewpoints
Views can now be deleted if they previously contained active viewpoints which were later archived and deleted. The view is deleted if it only contains deleted viewpoints. These views could not be deleted in previous releases.
Business Benefit: Views that were configured for a specific purpose which is no longer necessary may need to be deleted to minimize the number of views in an Enterprise Data Management environment.
Key Resources
- Archiving and Deleting Views in Administering and Working with Oracle Enterprise Data Management Cloud
Expanded History for Imports, Exports, and Extracts
History for imports, exports, and extracts has been expanded to display the last 5 jobs which were run for a selected dimension or viewpoint. This gives greater visibility to the frequency and status of these operations over a period of time.
Business Benefit: The expanded history provides a better understanding of when import, export, and extract jobs are run and the success rate of those operations.
Get Method for Node Collections in Expressions
A Get method is available for node collections such as Ancestors, Children, Locations, and Siblings to access a node object based on its position in a node collection using an expression.
Business Benefit: This can be useful in cases where you want evaluate or return information for the first or last node in a node collection.

Import and Export Templates with Multiple Applications
Templates can contain multiple applications and their related artifacts from a source environment. During template export, you can select multiple applications to include in a template file. When previewing or importing a template, dependencies between those applications, such as node type converters and subscriptions, can be now be resolved instead of resulting in a warning or error.
Business Benefit: Migrating applications which have dependencies between each other across Enterprise Data Management environments may require both applications to be included in a template to ensure those dependencies can be resolved in the target environment where the template is previewed or imported.
Key Resources
- Working with Templates in Administering and Working with Oracle Enterprise Data Management Cloud
Improved Custom Validations for Remove and Delete Actions
Custom validations which use the Remove and Delete trigger actions have been improved to prevent requests from being submitted, approved, or committed when nodes have been removed or deleted in a request.
Business Benefit: Business rules specific to the removal or deletion of a node can be enforced in the context of a request to prevent those changes from being applied.
Improved Handling for Subscriptions During Viewpoint Archive and Delete
When archiving a viewpoint which is used as a source viewpoint for a subscription, the user is notified that a subscription will be affected. When a viewpoint which has subscriptions is archived, the subscriptions for that viewpoint are now disabled. This allows the viewpoint to be deleted without individually disabling its subscriptions.
Business Benefit: Provides a better experience when archiving and deleting viewpoints referenced in a subscription.
Key Resources
- Archiving, Unarchiving, and Deleting Viewpoints in Administering and Working with Oracle Enterprise Data Management Cloud
Increased Request Item Limit for Subscription Requests
The request item limit for a subscription request has been increased to 12,000 items to accommodate the processing of descendants for nodes which were inserted or moved in a hierarchy viewpoint in the original request.
Business Benefit: This increase is necessary to ensure synchronization of descendant nodes between the source and target viewpoints for a given subscription.

System Settings for Email Notifications
System settings are available for email notifications to control certain behavior such as:
- Whether or not notifications are sent
- A prefix to the email subject to identify the environment from which a notification has been sent
- A substitute recipient which should receive all notifications instead of the primary recipient(s)
System settings are restricted to Service Administrator role users and configured on the Settings page of the user interface.
Business Benefit: The email notification settings provide options to customize the behavior of notifications in Enterprise Data Management.

Uniqueness Constraints for Selected Properties and Node Types
Uniqueness constraints can now be setup on any defined property in an application. A new Node Type Uniqueness constraint type is also available to check the uniqueness of a property value across a specified set of node types within an application.
Business Benefit: Uniqueness can be enforced on any defined property of an application, dimension, or a set of node types using a constraint.
Key Resources
- Working with Constraints in Administering and Working with Oracle Enterprise Data Management Cloud
Viewpoint Queries on Defined Property Values
Queries enable you to find nodes in a selected viewpoint whose properties match certain criteria. You can query all nodes in any viewpoint or below a selected node in a hierarchy viewpoint. One or more query filters can be added to narrow the scope and limit the number of query results returned. Query results are displayed next to the viewpoint and you can navigate from a result to its corresponding node in the viewpoint for more information and to take further action.
Viewpoint queries are limited to the following properties in this release:
- Properties with defined values which use a Default Type = None
- All property data types except for the Node data type
- Certain properties in the Core and CoreStats namespaces which have stored values
- Derived and Inherited properties are not available for selection
Business Benefit: Find nodes in viewpoints based on one or more filters using defined node and relationship properties. This allows nodes in a viewpoint to be identified based on other properties than Name or Description.

IMPORTANT Actions and Considerations
One-Week Lag Between Readiness Documents Live and Help Center Live
Because Oracle readiness documents (What's New and New Feature Summary) are live one week before the monthly update is applied to Test environments, some links to documentation included in the readiness documents will not work until after the Oracle Help Center update is complete when the monthly update is applied to Test environments.
EPM COMMON
Loaner Program for Cloud Infrastructure Generation 2 Testing and OCI Migration Assistance Early Adopter Program
Oracle EPM Cloud is now live on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Gen 2 environments. If you are interested in testing your application performance on an OCI environment, open a service request following the process at https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/enterprise-performance-management-common/tsepm/op_procs_loaner_envs.html and request for a loaner environment in an OCI data center for a duration of 30 days with the business justification as “Want to test application performance in an OCI Gen 2 data center”.
After you have performed the testing, submit Provide Feedback from the loaner environment. Create a service request using the normal support process, if you have any issues or feedback for the OCI environment. For more information, see What is a Gen 2 Cloud?
Additionally, Oracle has instituted a program to assist a limited number of early adopters on Oracle Cloud Classic to migrate to OCI. For more information, see Oracle Cloud Classic to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Migration Assistance Program for Early Adopters.

ENTERPRISE DATA MANAGEMENT
Top Node Filters for Subscriptions No Longer Apply to Delete Actions
Starting in 22.05, top node filters for subscriptions are no longer applied to Delete request actions in the source viewpoint. If a node matching a deleted source node is found in a target viewpoint, the node will be deleted from the target viewpoint regardless of where the node is located as part of a subscription request to ensure synchronization of existing nodes in both viewpoints.
