General Enhancements

Supported Browsers

Firefox 66 and Chrome 73 are now the preferred browsers for Oracle Eloqua.

Analytics

Insight Enhancements

In the Email Analysis by Email report, you can now view the contacts associated with metrics in your report so that you can take appropriate action.

You can now determine if a dynamic content rule has been deleted so that you can use that information in your analysis and better understand dynamic content performance and current state. The deleted status has also been added to the following reports:

  • Dynamic Content by Campaign
  • Dynamic Content by Email

Reports and Dashboard links now open the associated dashboard for the following areas:

  • Campaigns
  • Landing Pages
  • Forms

The Time Span prompt is now available for the following reports:

  • Landing Page Activity for Date Range
  • Form Submission Data
  • Email Clickthrough Overview
  • Email Analysis Overview by Segment
  • Campaign Analysis by Activity Date

The following dashboard charts now have associated reports in Insight:

  • Total External Activity
  • Total Outbound Activity
  • Total Inbound Activity
  • Email Activity Summary
  • Total Responses

The Lead Score attribute folder has been removed from some subject areas. It is now only available from the Form Submission, Contact Lists, and Contacts subject areas.

Apps

Eloqua-WeChat Integrator App

WeChat Followers can join referral activity via a WeChat menu item or auto-reply based on keyword now.

The app now supports image message sending from an Eloqua campaign.

The configuration page of WeChat Message sender action service has an improved user interface.

Improved performance for landing page visiting when the landing page is defined with WeChatID identifier in the message sent via customer service message mode.

There are several enhancements to WeChat referral activity feature:

  • When the referral activity reaches the quota for qualification, introduction message and personalized posters are no longer sent
  • The qualification rules and follow-up messages in referral activities are now optional (they were previously mandatory)
  • A WeChat identifier can now get a social attribute onto the URL in text message
  • A report is now available that shows the results of the qualified WeChat followers for the WeChat referral activity

Facebook Lead Ads App

The Facebook Lead Ads App audience feeder is now available on the Program Canvas. It was previously only available on the Campaign Canvas.

GoToWebinar App

When configuring the GoToWebinar app and adding a connected app, you must now provide the App Secret.

Pre-Packaged Apps

Pre-packaged apps are now listed and highlighted in the AppCloud Catalog and Cloud menu. This increases the accessibility of powerful apps that can help boost marketing productivity and campaign effectiveness.

IMPORTANT: A user with administrator permissions needs to configure the apps before use.

Salesforce.com Integration App

The Salesforce.com Integration app is now generally available. It was previously part of our controlled availability program.

As an existing native Salesforce integration user, you can now easily migrate to the new Salesforce.com Integration app with your existing actions, custom objects, and so on. This option is found in the Connections tab when configuring the app. You can also sort on the type of asset (imports/actions) while creating them through the migrate wizard, and track the progress of the migration.

Additionally, you can now view the Daily Feeder Run Report for the Salesforce.com Integration app.

Campaigns

Send Time Optimization (STO)

Oracle Eloqua can now determine the optimal time to send an email in a campaign based on when the contact interacted with emails historically.  You can set an interval time for STO emails, so that contacts don’t get spammed.

IMPORTANT: This feature is part of our Controlled Availability program. Learn more about requesting access to this feature here.

Emails

Contextual Resources in Email and Landing Page Design Editors

You can now access recommended help resources right in Eloqua's email and landing page Design Editors. Click the Help icon to display available videos, help topics, best practice articles, and so on.

Easily Distinguish Asset Type

When viewing your existing landing pages and emails, a Type column is now available to easily distinguish between Classic, responsive Design Editor, and Source (HTML) assets.

Email Batch Control Enhancements

The Go to Email Batch Search now opens up the batch search screen without executing a search. Previously, the search would start automatically and cause performance issues.

When using the Quick Search to search for email batches, it only searches the past week for a quick response.

Sunset of Classic Email and Landing Page Editor

The ability to create Classic emails and landing pages has been removed from the Eloqua. Pre-existing classic emails and landing pages will still be editable until 19C, when they become view-only. Learn more about the sunset of Classic email and landing page editors.

Forms

Moving from Classic to Responsive Design Editor Forms

When viewing your existing forms, a Type column is now available to easily distinguish between Classic and responsive Design Editor forms.

When using Save As Template and Save As features for your Classic forms, the form will be saved as a responsive form in our new Design Editor.

Progressive Profile Available in Form Design Editor

Progressive profile is now available in our responsive form Design Editor. It is a form element found in the Design tab.

Landing Pages

Change Browser Title

You can now change your landing page browser title without touching code.

Change Form Font and Size

You can now customize your Eloqua form font and font size in the landing page Design Editor

JavaScript Customization Now Available

You can now customize JavaScript in the landing page Design Editor templates. This provides greater control when creating templates for other team members to utilize.

Redirect a Deactivated Landing Page

The landing page redirect will now work when a landing page is deactivated, ensuring you are always pointing to your most relevant content.

Security

Custom Object Record Deletion

When a contact is deleted, all custom object records, in custom objects where the Delete Linked Custom Object Records upon Contact Deletion checkbox is set to TRUE, are now deleted. This deletion does not occur retroactively for previously deleted contacts.

IMPORTANT: This feature is currently released under our Controlled Availability program. To request access log in to My Oracle Support and create a service request.

Renew SSL Certificates

You can now renew your certificate in the same user interface where you can generate a CSR and submit a net new certificate.

IMPORTANT: The feature is only available if your instance of Eloqua includes secure microsites. This is a Controlled Availability feature. To request access, contact your account representative, or log in to My Oracle Support and create a service request.

SAN Certificate Support Enhancement

When creating secure microsites and registering new SSL certificates, the domain management screen better accommodates SAN certificates.

IMPORTANT: The feature is only available if your instance of Eloqua includes secure microsites. This is a Controlled Availability feature. To request access, contact your account representative, or log in to My Oracle Support and create a service request.

Programs

Field Level Tracking Enhancements

You are now able to track 10 fields and 10 listeners (up to 1 million contacts per day) using a program. Previously, you were able to track 3 fields and 3 listeners.

Segments

Segmentation Performance Improvements

We have made performance improvements to segments so they will run faster.

Developer Updates

New Features

Application API

  • Asynchronous form processing via API is released under our Controlled Availability program.

IMPORTANT: You can request access to this feature by submitting a request to My Oracle Support. A future Product Notice will provide details.

  • A new property has been added to the Application 1.0 and 2.0 Custom Objects API endpoints. The deleteLinkedCustomObjectData property is a boolean that determines whether or not custom object records are deleted when linked contact records are deleted. Does not apply to records that are unmapped or account deletion. Deleting records is irreversible and data cannot be recovered. The default value is false.

IMPORTANT: This feature is released under our Controlled Availability program. You can request access to this feature by submitting a request to My Oracle Support.

Bulk API

  • We’ve added two new activity fields: WebVisitSavedId and PageViewSavedId. WebVisitSavedId is available when creating an activity export definition for web visit activity types to include the id of when web visits were saved. PageViewSavedId is available when creating an activity export definition for page view activity types to include the id of when page views were saved. You can use the new activity fields in the activity export definition filter to successfully export web visit and page view activities periodically without missing any.

The syntax for the new activity fields:

  • WebVisitSavedId: {{Activity.Field(WebVisitSavedId)}}
  • PageViewSavedId: {{Activity.Field(PageViewSavedId)}}

When export data is retrieved, the WebVisitSavedId will be populated with the unique identifier for when the web visit was saved, and PageViewSavedId will be populated with the unique identifier for when the page view was saved.

Platform Notices

As of release 19C, all API endpoints for emails and landing pages will not allow creating and editing classic emails and landing pages. Classic forms will still be allowed to be edited through 20A, but no new classic forms will be allowed to be created starting in 19C. Any forms created or updated with the API endpoints will need to be responsive starting in 19C. A future product notice will provide details on usage. For more information about the classic editor sunset, see the Email and Landing Page product notice and the Form product notice.

With the arrival of Eloqua release 19C (Aug 2019), Oracle will be modifying its supported cipher suites used for Transport Layer Security (TLS) connections to Eloqua. This includes programmatic access to Eloqua via APIs. For more information, see the product notice.

Recent Changes

Application API

  • As part of the Classic Design Editor Sunset, the API endpoints will not allow you to create classic emails and landing pages (request body for htmlContent with a type of StructuredHtmlContent). However, you can still use the API to edit emails and landing pages. Any new emails and landing pages created using the API endpoints should have a request body for htmlContentwith a type of RawHtmlContent. If this is not specified, the API endpoints will still default to creating new emails and landing pages with RawHtmlContent.

Creating emails or landing pages with the htmlContent type ResponsiveHtmlContent is not supported. If you use the ResponsiveHtmlContent type, we cannot guarantee your email or landing page will be responsive.

  • A new property, isHidden, that stores the “Form Visibility” form setting, was added to the Application API Form endpoints. For more information, see the product notice.

Bulk API

  • Resolved an issue where performing an activity export for Subscribe, Unsubscribe, and Bounceback activity types using the statement {{Activity.Field(EmailAddress)}} could result in email addresses being returned in a case different than the case set on the contact currently. Performing an activity export for these activity types, and using this statement, will now return email addresses in the current case of the contact.
  • Resolved an issue where creating an activity import sync and then syncing invalid data to the import definition would result in the sync status being active instead of error.
  • Optimizations have been made to Bulk API custom object imports that include a large number of fields and records.
  • Bulk API Contact export definitions with an EXISTS() Segment filter, e.g. EXISTS('{{ContactSegment[<id>]}}'), will only allow up to two system updated or created date criterion. For more information, see the product notice.
