Feature Summary

Column Definitions:

Report = New or modified, Oracle-delivered, ready to run reports.

UI or Process-Based: Small Scale = These UI or process-based features are typically comprised of minor field, validation, or program changes. Therefore, the potential impact to users is minimal.

UI or Process-Based: Larger Scale* = These UI or process-based features have more complex designs. Therefore, the potential impact to users is higher.

Customer Action Required = You MUST take action before these features can be used by END USERS. These features are delivered disabled and you choose if and when to enable them. For example, a) new or expanded BI subject areas need to first be incorporated into reports, b) Integration is required to utilize new web services, or c) features must be assigned to user roles before they can be accessed.

Ready for Use by End Users
(Feature Delivered Enabled)

Reports plus Small Scale UI or Process-Based new features will have minimal user impact after an update. Therefore, customer acceptance testing should focus on the Larger Scale UI or Process-Based* new features.

Customer Must Take Action before Use by End Users
(Feature Delivered Disabled)

Not disruptive as action is required to make these features ready to use. As you selectively choose to leverage, you set your test and roll out timing.

Oracle Sales Cloud Integration App

Creating and updating users in Eloqua from Sales Cloud, programmatically, has changed from report-based to REST endpoints; similar to the other existing imports.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Key Resources

Visit our Help Center to learn more.

Salesforce.com Integration App

You can now view the status of Action runs in the Notification bar.

The default assets migration wizard no longer stops after the first data migration error. Instead, it reports the error and attempts to migrate remaining assets.

You can now view the detailed status of imports on the Imports Summary and Campaign Imports screens while imports are still in progress. Additionally, you can cancel any import (excluding the uploading to Eloqua step that cannot be canceled).

When you select any of the 3 sample programs, required assets are automatically selected (Update Contact, Update Lead, Create Lead). You can de-select the assets if needed.

Large numbers in the app now include commas to separate numerals.

If History Objects are enabled in Salesforce, you can now configure the Salesforce.com Integration app to sync related field changes to Eloqua. Please note that Salesforce Login History object is an exception, and it is not supported by the app.

Search Enhancements for Landing Pages and Forms

The Search bar on the Landing Page Overview and Forms Overview pages has been moved to the center of the page and updated with the ability to also provide the most recently related results.

Landing page and form search results can now be further defined using the new search filters via the Filters icon.

Landing pages are now searchable by Vanity URL and forms are now searchable by HTML name.

The existing prebuilt filters, Recently Modified and Recently Accessed by Me, have been removed from the Landing Page Overview and Forms Overview pages, and replaced with the new enhanced search functionality.

In addition to the new search functionality:

  • Search results can still be sorted by recently modified in the All Files page by clicking on the Last Modified at column header.
  • Recently accessed forms are displayed on the Overview page and in the enhanced search bar.

Oracle Social Cloud End of Life Announcement

Oracle has made a strategic decision to end of life Oracle Social Cloud. As a result of this decision, Oracle Social Cloud will be supported for maintenance until Sept 30, 2020. The product is no longer being sold to new customers and the SKU has been removed from the price list.

Important Dates:

  • Last Date of Service: September 30, 2020
  • Customers whose services period ends prior to September 30, 2020 may renew up to the last date of service

The following Eloqua apps will be supported up until the last day of service, September 30, 2020

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Security

Authenticated Contact Management Now Generally Available with Advanced Data Privacy Cloud Service

Authenticated Contact Management is now generally available with Advanced Data Privacy (ADP) add-on. This feature was previously part of our controlled availability program.

Authenticated Contact Management lets you protect sensitive information shared over electronic communication by using the following features:

  • Manage contacts and their activities in relation to authenticated microsites
  • Allow contacts to view secured content by authenticating into a secure microsite
  • Branded secured inbox for authenticated contacts to view and manage all the secured communication
  • Configure automated self registration via form submission and program canvas

Authenticated Contact Management uses authenticated microsites to send secure messages to contacts. An authenticated microsite is a secure microsite that requires visitors to log in before they can view the site's content. Authenticated microsites use SSL protocol to encrypt the connection between the browser and the web server, and user credentials to restrict access. These security features allow you to create microsites that include sensitive information, or simply information that you want to restrict to a specific audience.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

SSL Provisioning Enhancements

The SSL Certification Provisioning workflow has been updated to:

  • Allow users to switch which the selected SSL certificate assigned to their microsite.
  • The SSL management screen now allows for certificates with duplicate common names provided their certificate types aren't the same. This allows you to consolidate multiple EV certificates into a single SAN.
  • On the microsite management screen, the certificate type is now displayed in the certificates dropdown.

Securing your branded application and image domains is now available.

Steps to Enable

To enable this feature you need to log a Service Request (SR).

Branded app domains can use our automated SSL process to generate a CSR and upload a certificate (Assets > Website Setup > Microsites > Manage SSL Certificates). However, branded image domains require a service request to be filed through My Oracle Support to generate a CSR and upload a certificate.

Key Resources

Visit our Help Center to learn more about SSL certificates, creating secure microsites, and branded app and image domains.

Updated Cookie Lifespan of 13 Months

In an effort to further our GDPR compliance, when a tracking cookie is dropped the lifespan of the cookie is now 13 months.

  • This applies to third-party, first-partyy, Eloqua hosted landing page, and external cookies.
  • The shortened cookie lifespan will only result in a modest reduction in activity coverage. Customer data validated that only a small percent of cookies are tracking past 13 months.
  • The expiration dates of any existing cookies are not changed as a result of this update.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Segments

Warning For Stale Segments

When clicking View Contacts for a filter, a warning message displays if the segment hasn't been refreshed in the last 24 hours.

Developer Updates

Application API

We've added new ways you can filter landing pages when using the Retrieve a list of landing pages endpoint:

  • Filter by content source: You can now search for landing pages by content source using the new query parameter contentSource, specifying content source by ID:
    • editor = 0
    • upload = 1
    • migration = 2
    • responsive = 3

We recommend always using the Application 2.0 API endpoints, as some functionality may not be available in 1.0. The Application 1.0 endpoint cannot retrieve responsive landing pages.

  • Filter by vanity URL: You can now search for landing pages by the landing page's vanity URL, also known as the relativePath. After 19D, using the search URL parameter with name will include matches for landing page name and relativePath.

NOTE: To search on both the name and relativePath, the leading wildcard “*” is required as the relativePath always starts with a “/”.

  • Filter by user who created or last updated the landing page: Use the search URL parameter with the updatedByUserId or createdByUserId properties to filter landing pages.

The Retrieve a list of landing pages API endpoint will now return a landing page's vanity URL (relativePath) at minimal depth. For more information, see the product notice.

You can now search for forms by content source using the new query parameter contentSource, specifying content source by ID:

  • classic forms = 0
  • responsive forms = 3

Note that you must specify the content source ID to search.

We've modified the Retrieve a list of activities endpoint so that an email DeploymentId now appears in the response for emailOpenemailSend, and emailClickThrough activity types. The DeploymentId allows email activities to be associated with a specific deployment. For more information, see the product notice.

We've made changes to the Landing Pages endpoints so that minimal depth will return relativePath, and using the search URL parameter with name when retrieving a list of landing pages will return matches for name and relativePath. For more information, see the product notice.

The Form endpoints will now return htmlName at minimal depth. For more information, see the product notice.

The Classic Design Editor changes are coming in our 20A release (February 2020). Eloqua’s new, fully responsive, Form Design Editor launched with the 19A release (Feb 2019), is now the default form editor for Eloqua. As such, we will be sunsetting some functionality contained in our Classic Form Design Editor in order to maintain a modern, consistent experience for customers. Please review the updated product notice for further information and additional schedule changes.

Steps to Enable

Review the REST service definition in the REST API guides, available from the Oracle Help Center > your apps service area of interest > REST API. If you're new to Oracle's REST services you may want to begin with the Quick Start section.

Bulk API

Resolved an issue where creating activity export definitions and setting maxRecords would correctly create the definition and respect the maxRecords property, however the maxRecords property was not appearing when creating or retrieving the definition. The maxRecords property now appears as expected in these scenarios.

Resolved an issue where creating a Bulk API import with the contact fields {{Contact.Email.IsSubscribed}} and {{Contact.Email.IsBounced}} would result in an incorrect email status. This issue has been resolved.

Steps to Enable

Review the REST service definition in the REST API guides, available from the Oracle Help Center > your apps service area of interest > REST API. If you're new to Oracle's REST services you may want to begin with the Quick Start section.

Key Resources

Review the new Bulk API Best Practices section which has become a growing list of best practices when using the Bulk API, such as reusing definitions and how to best retrieve data.
