Feature Summary

Column Definitions:

Report = New or modified, Oracle-delivered, ready to run reports.

UI or Process-Based: Small Scale = These UI or process-based features are typically comprised of minor field, validation, or program changes. Therefore, the potential impact to users is minimal.

UI or Process-Based: Larger Scale* = These UI or process-based features have more complex designs. Therefore, the potential impact to users is higher.

Features Delivered Disabled = Action is needed BEFORE these features can be used by END USERS. These features are delivered disabled and you choose if and when to enable them. For example, a) new or expanded BI subject areas need to first be incorporated into reports, b) Integration is required to utilize new web services, or c) features must be assigned to user roles before they can be accessed.

Ready for Use by End Users
(Feature Delivered Enabled)

Reports plus Small Scale UI or Process-Based new features will have minimal user impact after an update. Therefore, customer acceptance testing should focus on the Larger Scale UI or Process-Based* new features.

Customer Must Take Action before Use by End Users
(Feature Delivered Disabled)

Not disruptive as action is required to make these features ready to use. As you selectively choose to leverage, you set your test and roll out timing.

Dashboards

The Email Performance dashboard now has a new and improved user interface.

This update provides a cleaner, more modern look and feel, an improved user experience, and a consistent design with other Oracle CX products.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Key Resources

Insight

When creating a custom lead score report in Insight, Lead Scores that have no contacts will now show a 0 in the Total Contacts column.

This makes it easier to build a custom lead score analysis that includes all score levels.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Key Resources

Apps

Oracle Maxymiser Integration App

An Oracle Maxymiser Integration app will be available shortly after the 21C update. Using this app, you will be able to send attributes from Oracle Eloqua contacts to Maxymiser to be used for personalizing web pages. This data flow is performed via an Eloqua campaign step, allowing a connected journey and consistent experience from email to website.

This results in better educated and supported buyers and higher velocity in the sales cycle.

Steps to Enable

To enable this feature you need to log a Service Request (SR).

Oracle Maxymiser is required to use this feature.

Contacts

Contact Score History

In the Contacts user interface, the report that displays the history of contacts' scores from the selected scoring model will now show data for last 365 days instead of 750 days.

This is part of a planned enhancement in a future update and improves performance.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Key Resources

Forms

Blind Form Submit URL Shortening

When saving an email with a blind form submit (BFS) link, a unique key is added in place of listing all parameters in the URL. This unique key helps to prevent the possibility of personally identifiable information (PII) being disclosed through the URL parameters. Currently this feature is optionally available, but we do recommend all of our customers considering enabling this at the earliest opportunity.

General Enhancements

Supported Browsers

Chrome 91 and Firefox 89 are the A (Best Choice) browsers for Oracle Eloqua.

These browsers are tested against a comprehensive new feature and regression test suite to provide a good experience with all functionality.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Key Resources

Security

SSL Certificate Details Displayed

A new Certification Management option will be available shortly after the 21C update. This screen will allow you to view details and expiry dates for the certificates that you own. You will notice a column titled Eloqua Owned.

Eloqua will also start sending SSL Certificate expiry reminders to customer administrators, approximately 60, 30, and 10 days prior to expiry.

This is part of a planned enhancement in a future update to secure new domains with Eloqua owned certificates.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Key Resources

Developer Updates

App Developer Framework

Notification Call Improvement: When there is no response to the Notification URL call from the App, Eloqua will now retry the Notification URL call over approximately an eight-hour period of time instead of failing after one attempt

Content Service Improvement: Eloqua will now set records to error as soon as errors occur, instead of waiting 24 hours.

This improves how Eloqua handles the Notification URL call, giving apps a longer period to respond to the notification call before setting records to error.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Key Resources

Application API

Asynchronous Form Processing via API is now enabled for the Create form data for a single form endpoints.

This enhances overall system stability and provides consistent and faster response time for form submit API requests.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Key Resources

Bulk API

Import Improvement: When the External Id, e.g. ContactIDExt, is used as the identifier field, the Bulk API will extract and match on the indexed ID.

Export Improvement: Adding an improved retry strategy to cover a wider variety of failures that can occur during Bulk API exports.

These enhancements improve system stability.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Key Resources

OAuth

More detailed 401 responses are now available when authenticating with OAuth 2.0:

  • For the https://login.eloqua.com/auth/oauth2/token endpoint, for the status of 401 Unauthorized the response body will now include the following:
    • error: the name of the error type
    • error_code: the numeric value uniquely identifying the type of error
    • error_description: provides details on the error
  • Errors have been divided into categories indicated by the 1000s digit of the error_code according to the following:
    • General Error Messages - 1000
    • Error Messages Related to Authentication - 2000
    • Error Messages Related to OAuth2 Authentication - 2500
    • Error Messages Related to Authorization - 3000

This change provides users more detailed messaging when 401 error responses happen, so that you can more accurately troubleshoot authentication issues.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
