Feature Summary

Column Definitions:

Report = New or modified, Oracle-delivered, ready to run reports.

UI or Process-Based: Small Scale = These UI or process-based features are typically comprised of minor field, validation, or program changes. Therefore, the potential impact to users is minimal.

UI or Process-Based: Larger Scale* = These UI or process-based features have more complex designs. Therefore, the potential impact to users is higher.

Features Delivered Disabled = Action is needed BEFORE these features can be used by END USERS. These features are delivered disabled and you choose if and when to enable them. For example, a) new or expanded BI subject areas need to first be incorporated into reports, b) Integration is required to utilize new web services, or c) features must be assigned to user roles before they can be accessed.

Ready for Use by End Users
(Feature Delivered Enabled)

Reports plus Small Scale UI or Process-Based new features will have minimal user impact after an update. Therefore, customer acceptance testing should focus on the Larger Scale UI or Process-Based* new features.

Customer Must Take Action before Use by End Users
(Feature Delivered Disabled)

Not disruptive as action is required to make these features ready to use. As you selectively choose to leverage, you set your test and roll out timing.

Availability of Additional API End-Points

The following new APIs are available as part of this enhancement:

  1. Fetch execution details for a given process
  2. List of running instances at a point of time for a given process

This enhancement will enable users orchestrate process sequences involving AFCS.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Availability of an Alternative Mechanism to Prepare Account Dimension

Users will now have an alternative option to populate 'Account' Dimension from Product Processor data. This is an alternative to the existing flow from Account Master.

No separate source file is needed to populate Stage Account Master. Instead, the Account Dimension will be populated from the accounts that are loaded to the Stage Product Processors.

NOTE:

  • Users must choose one option to load their Account Dimension. If they choose the PP route, the "Account Load Run Map PMF" pipeline must be executed first, followed by the PP SCD process.

  • If PP data is being loaded then Account dimension must be loaded through PP route and SCD task populating from Account Master table shall be removed from SCD process.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Availability of Named Extracts

The following Named Extracts are now available:

Management Ledger balance data will be available with

  • all relevant segments
  • audit attributes
  • parent information for General Ledger & Business Unit

Users will also have the option to filter data by Hierarchy Code.

Steps to Enable

  1. Navigate to Data Extraction.
  2. Select Sys ML Balance Extract definition.
  3. Choose the necessary attributes from the available list.
  4. Specify the extract file name and other properties as required.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Configure the Data Extraction pipeline to include this definition.

Support for Flexible Choice of CoA Segments

This enhancement will allow users to extend CoA segments previously supported in AFCS.

The list of CoA segments supported in AFCS is now user-configurable, with mapping available to seeded or user-defined dimensions.

Steps to Enable

CoA segments to AFCS dimension mapping should be revised, if relevant.

Introduction of ML Segments

This enhancement will introduce user-configurable Management Ledger segments that may be mapped to seeded or user-configured dimensions.

The service will now support a flexible Management Ledger with balance information maintained at a grain that can be extended by user.

Steps to Enable

ML segments to AFCS dimension mapping should be configured, if relevant.

Explicit Assignment of Incremental Property to BICC Jobs Created by AFCS

Extraction of data from ERP via BICC Extract Data Stores will be explicitly marked incremental when jobs are created by AFCS.

This enhancement will ensure that data extracts from ERP for use by AFCS are incremental.

Steps to Enable

  1. Navigate to ERP settings UI.
  2. Resave the configuration.

Availability of Dimension Attributes for Access Via AFCS Reporting Layer

Dimension attributes configured by users will also now be available via the reporting mechanism available with AFCS service instance.

This enhancement will allow users to:

  • Add dimension attributes to reports
  • Add user-configured attributes from Accounting Entries to reports

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Persistence of Journal-Decomposition Result and Availability of Such Data for Reporting / Extraction

This enhancement provides users access to persisted result of journals decomposition process.

Result of decomposition process provides additional verification and trace information for balance information maintained in AFCS.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Support for Definition of Alternate Hierarchies and Their Use in Reporting

The service will now support the definition of hierarchies based on dimension attributes and their use in the reporting layer. Users will be able to specify display names for hierarchies in the AFCS user interface.

This enhancement will enable alternate hierarchies in BI Catalog. This will allow users to define custom reports in the 'Balance Computation' Subject Area.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Availability of Additional Reports with Guided Access to Details

Reports covering day movement (credit, debit, and net) and journals have been added, with the ability to drill-down from the former to the latter.

This enhancement will allow users to establish movement and journals data via reporting layer.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Support to FastConnect

AFCS user interfaces will now be accessible over Oracle FastConnect.

This will enable user to access AFCS over private secure network using Oracle FastConnect,

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Ledger Based Execution for Balance Computation Process

AFCS will now support user to execute balance computation process with ledger as a parameter.

This will enable users to run balance computation process for each ledgers as and when required.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Support for Name-Based Hierarchy Resave Component

Users can now select the hierarchy by name instead of entering the hierarchy code during resave operation.

User has now option to select single or multiple hierarchy by name.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Revaluation Process for Specific GL Accounts

Currently, the Revaluation process in AFCS can only be run on specific GL types.

With this enhancement. the Revaluation process in AFCS can be run on specific GL accounts or a combination of GL accounts.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Performance Optimization

Application performance has been optimized for Ingestion, Balance Computation, Management Ledger & Integration Management Ledger, and Extraction to improve overall execution time.

A 20–25% execution time benefit between 23.4.1 and 23.5.1 has been observed based on the internal tests conducted.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Maintenance Page

The system is enhanced to prevent users from login during application maintenance and display a maintenance page. Already logged-in users will not be allowed to perform any operations once maintenance of the application starts.

This will avoid accidental user operation during patching or other maintenance activities.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
