Authenticate SAML and OpenID Login Policy Users Using Instance URL
Starting with Update 20D, it is recommended that you update the URL that is used to log in to the instances connecting over external identity providers, through SAML and OpenID types of authentication. The URL must be the same as the instance name instead of login.etadirect.com. You must update the URL before Update 21D.
Print from Installed Applications
Starting with Update 20D, you can print files from within the installed application. All screens within the application that support printing, for example, Reports within Dashboards and the Print Route functionality are supported in the installed apps.
Request Location Permissions at Regular Intervals
The installed app needs permissions to access the location of the field resource to provide accurate location-based alerts and duration estimations. Starting with Update 20D, if you have not provided the location permissions previously, a message appears and prompts you to provide the required permissions when you try to activate the route.
Link a Segmentable Activity with a Segmentable Activity using REST APIs
Starting with Update 20D, you can use the REST APIs to link a segmentable activity with another segmentable activity using the same link types that you use to link a regular activity with a segmentable activity. This includes updates to these Core API functions:
- Create an activity link: POST /rest/ofscCore/v1/activities/{activityId}/linkedActivities
- Replace an activity link: PUT /rest/ofscCore/v1/activities/{activityId}/linkedActivities/{linkedActivityId}/linkTypes/{linkType}
Configure Quota Page as Read-Only
Starting with Update 20D, you can configure different access levels for each Quota page separately. That is, you can provide read-only or read-write access to Booking status, Quota, and Available capacity pages separately for each user type.
Collaboration Redesign and Improvements
Starting with Update 20D, Collaboration has been redesigned with these improvements:
- The Collaboration window has been redesigned for better user experience, allowing it to be resized and viewed in full-screen mode.
- Collaboration chats and help desk chats can be accessed from a single page. You can now see multiple chats in the Collaboration queue and helpdesk queue from this view without having to click the Collaboration icon from the header.
- The Collaboration window lets you navigate between Collaboration and the working page in Core Application, by keeping the Collaboration window attached to your working page.
- When you start a new conversation, you can initiate a one-to-one conversation with a contact from the contact list, send a group message to a group of users, or start a new conversation with nearby users all from a single page.
- The Collaboration window and the chat conversations are responsive based on the size and orientation of the device.
Assignment Assistant Improvements
Starting with Update 20D, these improvements are implemented in the Assignment Assistant:
- Hint for route impact: Shows the activity duration and the extra travel time
- History tab: Shows the list of resources that were previously used to move activities
- Time scale: Shows the start time of the activity
- Non-movable section: Shows the activities that cannot be moved to the current resource
Starting with Update 20D, these improvements are implemented in the Dispatch Console:
- The Print Route page now has an improved layout and supports custom properties as well. The duplicate context layout has been removed and only one context layout is available for printing the route details, which is Print Route.
- You can add multiple action sections and buttons in the header of the Dispatch Console.
- The layout of the Add child resource page is based on Core Application.
Open External Plug-Ins from the Main Menu
Starting with Update 20D, you can open plug-ins from the Main menu in Core Application.
Starting with Update 20D, the Messages tab within the Activity details page displays in a tabular format, similar to the History page. The column width adjusts automatically based on the content and the screen size. Further, the Resend Message option is removed from this page, but is available in the Messages Report.
Use the Resource Tree on Manage, Calendar, and Map Pages
Starting with Update 20D, you can use the resource tree on the Manage, Calendars, and Map in Core Application. You can navigate through the resource tree, expand groups, and select a resource to display the Time view, schedules, or resource locations. You can create groups, add and remove resources from groups, and view future days without scrolling on the Manage and Calendars pages. In addition, if you are a Manager/Dispatcher/Admin type of user, you can view the Resource info page.
Automate Required Inventory Pickup Creation Using Bulk Routing
Starting update 20D, bulk routing plans may auto-create inventory pickup activities to obtain the required inventory pieces from the nearest warehouse and handle the changes during intra-day routing re-optimization runs. This addition ensures resources arrive to the location with the needed inventory to complete the work.
