Transportation and Global Trade Platform

Workbench

Full-View Open Option

This feature provides you with an improved user experience by opening Workbenches with the Workbench menu closed for Workbenches that are created and added to either the Springboard or Navigator.  Workbenches you open with the Workbench Designer will open with the Workbench Menu expanded.  Opening specific Workbenches with the Workbench Menu closed helps eliminate wasted space in the selected workbench. The user can always expand the Workbench Menu if required.

REST Services

JSON Patch to Update Top-level Resource Attributes

This feature provides you with the ability to perform a JSON Patch update on a target resource to modify a property.

  • Top-level fields on resources can be  updated using JSON Patch
  • Child fields on resources can be updated using JSON Patch

Add Update Support to Shipment Resource

This feature provides you with the basic capability to update Shipments with the REST API. This includes being able to PATCH the top-level and child tables as well as POST to child tables.

Bill/Invoice Additional Operations Supported

This feature extends the operations supported for the Bill/Invoice resources to include POST, PATCH and DELETE.

Resources

Operations Supported

Bill

GET, POST, PATCH, DELETE

Invoice

GET, POST, PATCH, DELETE

Asynchronous Support for Tracking Event and Location Resources

This feature provides you with asynchronous support for processing tracking event and location resources. This lets you stage requests and process from the queue asynchronously, allowing you to control the throughput for high volume transactions.

Add Tracking Event as Reference Resource for Power Unit, Order Base, Equipment and Shipment Ship Unit

This feature provides you with the Tracking Event as a reference resource for the Power Unit, Order Base, Equipment and Shipment Ship Unit.  With this change, you can get tracking event information for all these newly added resources.

Basic Order Release Create and Update

This feature provides you with the basic capability to create and update an Order Releases using the REST API.

Add Support for Exchange Rate Resources

This feature provides you with 'GET' verb (singular and collection) on exchangeRates resource and its child resources.

Query Resources Using Attributes from Child Resources One Level Down

This feature provides you the ability to query on resources using attributes from child resources one level down.  For example - you can search for a location resource based on a location reference number value.  This feature also supports queries on child attributes that are multiple levels deep.  For example - you can search for the order release resource based on a ship unit remark qualifier and value.

Technical Features

Optional Features - View and Actions

The Optional Features finder allows you, the DBA, to review the Optional Features delivered in an update and consider whether or not to Opt In to the Optional Features.  The option to Opt In is - for most Optional Features -  only provided to clients who are upgrading, for new installations most all of the Optional Features will be delivered with Opt In set to TRUE.

For clients who are migrated to a new upgrade version, each of the Optional Features comes with an Optional Until version.  The Optional Until version indicates the version where the optional nature of the feature (ability to optionally Opt In) expires and the feature is no longer optional.

Optional Feature - Agent Loop Lock Suppression

The Agent Lock Suppression optional feature lets you - the DBA - control whether Data Type Association and FOR loops locks (or not) both the parent record as well as the children records.

Assume you have an order release agent that is looping through related shipments either via Data Type Association (ORDER RELEASE TO SHIPMENT) on a single action, or via a FOR action. By default, the action first locks the order release and then, in turn, each related shipment. This can cause deadlocks when the agent triggers a shipment agent that may eventually loop through related orders. This feature avoids this type of deadlock by suppressing the order release (i.e. parent) lock.

Version Optional Feature Introduced 20A

Version where this optional feature is no longer Optional and becomes a mandatory opt-in feature - 21A

Optional Feature - CSV Upload Refresh

The CSV Upload Refresh feature, is an optional feature which supports immediate cache updates whenever CSV files are uploaded.  While the CSV Upload Refresh is an optional feature, it has been delivered with the Opt In set to Yes - meaning this feature is on by default.

Optional Feature - Disable Message Credentials

This feature provides you, the DBA, with the option to disable support for user credentials for all inbound XML integration messages.

Optional Feature - XML Schema Validation

This feature - once enabled - enforces strict schema validation for all inbound XML integration messages.  This Optional Feature is delivered with Opt In set to FALSE - but it is recommended that you consider enabling the XML Schema Validation feature for testing to see how well your inbound XML messages adhere to the schema.

Optional Feature - XSL Stylesheet Content Validation

This feature, once enabled, will perform a validation for all XLS stylesheet content.  While the XSL Stylesheet Content Validation is an optional feature, it has been delivered with the Opt In set to TRUE - meaning this feature is on by default.

Action Required

  • Run the Validate All Stylesheets action from the Stylesheet Content page to ensure that any custom stylesheets that you have uploaded to the system are proper XML and will be processed correctly by the system. If one of your custom stylesheets is not valid, you must re-load it using the Stylesheet Content page.

Optional Feature - Load Balance Topic Interface

This feature allows you, the DBA, to have an inbound Topic request load balanced against servers in the cluster.

Optional Feature - Optimize Data Query Footprint

For this feature, the Data Query memory usage has been restructured so that the memory used by one custom event topic is released when all work associated with that topic is completed.  This memory optimization feature is applied to all Data Query topics by default, i.e., the feature set to Opt In = TRUE by default for both newly provisioned clients and existing customers who will be migrated to 20A.   If for some reason there is a need to revert to the old memory usage, this can be accomplished by running the Opt Out Action.

Provide the Ability to Create Users for Calling OBIEE/BIPublisher APIs

This feature is targeted to those clients who are currently using the OBIEE or BIPublisher APIs.  Prior to the 20A update, all users were able to call the OBIEE/BIPublisher APIs.  Starting with 20A, you must create a specific user for calling the OBIEE/BIPublisher APIs.  This feature provides you with the user configuration changes required to create a user specifically for calling the OBIEE/BIPublisher APIs.

Other Enhancements

View Archived Documents

This feature provides you, the DBA, with a way to search for and view your archived documents.  Specifically this feature provides you with an Archived Documents Finder and Finder Results that will allow you to search for and view your archived documents.

Generate Document Action Enhancement

This feature provides you with an enhanced Generate Document web action that generates a single document for multiple objects and updates the content of a consolidated document which will then be reflected across the documents linked to the consolidated document.

GTM and OTM Shared Saved Queries for Location, Contact and Item

This feature provides you with consistent access to your saved queries across OTM and GTM for Locations, Contacts and Items.  You can now define a saved query for your Locations, or Contacts or Items in either the GTM or OTM managers for these objects and the same saved query will be available for use in both the OTM and GTM managers for these objects.

View Item ID and Item Name Across Item Tabs

This feature provides you with visibility to an item's ID and Name as you move across the item's tabs.  Having visibility to an item's Item ID and Item Name while entering or viewing an Item will help insure that the proper item configuration has been provided and provide context to the user while working.

Support for 2020 Incoterms®

The Public data provided for Incoterms® - Incoterm ID and Incoterm Description - has been updated to match the Incoterms® 2020 rules released by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).  The new Incoterms® rules go into effect on January 1, 2020.

Updated the Country Code Data

To keep you current with the latest changes in global standards, the country code file has been updated with revised country names.

Oracle Transportation Management (Base)

HERE Fleet Telematics API - Weekend Restrictions Considered for Direct Shipments

This feature provides you with the ability to use the HERE Fleet Telematics API to consider European legislated truck driving restrictions when planning direct (non-multi-stop) shipments in OTM.  When enabled, the time and distance calculations for your direct shipments will consider any driving restrictions that apply including: weekend restrictions, public holiday restriction and/or nighttime restriction. As part of HERE's driving restriction evaluation, HERE will optimize the driving route by either circumventing the restriction or waiting until the restriction ends.

Order Base Line Allocation

The new Order Base Line Allocation feature provides you with the ability to perform cost allocation back to the detailed (non-aggregated) Order Base Line information.  This feature extends the capabilities provided with the High Volume Lines Feature provided with the 18C update.  The High Volume Lines Feature allows you to load all of your detailed line level information - like different color or size information - into your Order Base Lines, but then  aggregates the information for planning purposes when you create your Order Releases.

Enhancements provided by this feature include:

  • Allocation Method and Allocation Rule for Order Base Line
  • Metrics related to Order Base Line Allocation Method
  • Ability to allocate the Shipment Cost/Voucher/Bill to the Order Base Line
  • Include order base allocation details in Shipment, Voucher, Bill and Order Base outbound transmissions

Ahead/Late Visibility Enhancement

The Ahead/Late feature provides you with a set of capabilities that you can use to indicate if a shipment - based on incoming tracking event information - is running ahead of schedule or is running late.  Visibility to the Ahead/Late information is available in the Map View as well as within the Shipment and Tracking Event managers.  The Ahead/Late values can be easily configured using Agents and Agent Actions to handle different modes.

PC*MILER Web - Favor and Avoid

This feature provides you with the ability to use the PC*MILER Web Route Modifier Sets (with Favor and  Avoid route modifiers) that you have configured and saved on the PC*MILER Web service using the PC*MILER Web Content Tools.  Inside of PC*MILER Web, the Favor and  Avoid route modifiers will allow you to modify the routing in the following ways:

  • Avoid: An avoided road segment is effectively treated as if it were closed unless no other road can be used for the route or if the total trip distance would be unacceptably inefficient.
  • Favor: A favored road segment will be used in a route unless it is not practical to do so.

Tender Type Element Added to PlannedShipment XML

This feature provides you with a new XML element which will provide information regarding the tender type (Ordinary, Broadcast Tender, Spot Bid) to your service providers.  Thie tender type can be used to indicate to the service provider the expected response.

SMC³ CarrierConnect XL 3.0 - Ability to Discount by Movement Type

This feature provides you with the ability to specify different discounts based on the Movement Type provided by the SMC³ CarrierConnect XL 3.0 version.  The Movement Type identifies the service provided by a carrier on a particular lane. Specifically, you can define different discounts for lanes where the service points are handled directly by the carrier or  you can specify a difference discount if the service points are handled indirectly by the carrier through an interline arrangement with another carrier, or you can specify a different discount if the service points handled are handed by a partner carrier.

Reference Number Qualifier Check on Tender Accept in Online Booking/Tendering UI

This feature provides you with the ability to define a mandatory Shipment Reference Number Qualifier that must be provided before a tender can be accepted in the Service Providers Online Booking/Tendering UI.

Select All Added for Adding Line to Order Release Ship Unit

This feature provides you with the ability to select all of the lines for a new ship unit versus the previous option, which required you to add each line for a ship unit one at a time.

You will find the select all option particularly helpful in situations where there are many lines on an order release, but only a few of those lines are not associated with the ship unit being built.  In this scenario, the select all option makes it easy to select all, then deselect the few lines that are not to be included in the ship unit.

Logistics Pipeline

The Logistics Pipeline feature provides you with a "flattened" view into the tracking event information received against your shipments; including information about the current expected time of arrival (ETA) and whether the current ETA is considered to be ahead of schedule, on-time or behind schedule.

From the new Logistics Pipeline view you can map your shipment or view all the tracking events for a shipment.

The Logistics Pipeline provides you the information you need to reduce or avoid potential service failures.

PC*MILER Web - Governor Road Speed

This feature provides you with the option of setting the maximum road speed that will be used by PC*MILER Web (ALK).   When the Governor Road Speed parameter is configured PC*MILER Web will use the Governor Road Speed as the maximum average road speed for doing a route calculations and the Governor Road Speed will overrides all other road speeds that would be above the Governor Road Speed value.

Documentation Now Available In HTML and PDF Format

This feature provides you with multiple options for working with the OTM/GTM documentation available on docs.oracle.come.  All of the OTM/GTM documentation is now available in both an HTML as well as a PDF format.

Shipment Manager Enhancement

This feature provides you with visibility to the Equipment Initial and Equipment Number as well as providing visibility to the sole packaged item assigned to a shipment.  This new visibility information is provided on the Shipment Manager for both view and edit.

Rapid Order Release - Get Rates Configuration Enhancement

This feature provides users of the Rapid Order Entry screen with an improved configuration approach for selecting and displaying the Get Buy Rate and Get Sell Rate options.

With this feature you now have the abiltity to easily configure the Rapid Order Entry screen to:

  1. Show both the Get Buy Rate and Get Sell Rate buttons,
  2. Only show the Get Buy Rate or Get Sell Rate button,
  3. Hide the Get Rates (Buy or Sell) buttons completely.

Transportation Operational Planning

Dynamic Clustering to Consider Order Release Routing Constraints

This feature is for clients who use the Dynamic Clustering algorithm in their network routing planning. When either or both of the Dynamic Clustering parameters are set to TRUE, the Dynamic Clustering algorithm will honor the Routing Constraints defined on the order releases being planned.

Planning Data - Export/Import

This feature provides you with the ability to easily Export all the data required to run a bulk plan from one server/domain (for example, export from production) and then Import the exported data into another server/domain (for example, import into test) so you can perform diagnostics in a non-production environment.

This feature also supports a Data Masking export option which allows you to clear or replace sensitive data like locations, service providers, and contacts with fictitious data.  The Data Making option should be used for any exports you plan to send to Oracle Support.

Load Configuration - Item Grouping Criteria

With this feature, you can now instruct the load configuration logic to group by order, by ship unit or by order and ship unit.  OTM will use the grouping criteria to keep the grouped items together in the equipment.  This feature also seeks to reduce the splitting of the group identified by the selected group criteria.

Support Splitting by Shipment Ship Unit Count in Conopt Merge

This feature extends the capability of the Conopt Merge algorithm to produce fuller shipments by considering the option to split shipment ship units by count during the repacking step.

HERE and PC*MILER External Distance and Service Engine Bulk Plan Performance Statistics

This feature provides you with the ability to more easily identify bulk plan performance issues that are related to calling HERE or PC*MILER for distance or service time.

Refine Options Displays in Full Screen

This feature extends the viewable columns displayed when you select Refine Options as part of running the Show Routing Options action or the Show Network Routing Options action.

Capacity Considered in Network Routing Route Step

The network routing planning step, which determines the path through the network, will now consider the Service Provider Capacity in determining the best path through a defined network.

Continuous Move Out and Back

The Continuous Moves Out and Back feature provides you with the ability to create your continuous move tours so that the last shipment in the tour looks for opportunities to terminate the tour at a location that is near to the starting location of the first shipment in the continuous move tour.

Oracle Fleet Management

Driver Location Preference Extended to Include Lane and Region

This feature extends the Driver Location Preference to include both Lane level and Region level preference definitions (prefer or avoid).

Freight Payment, Billing, and Claims

Approve Invoice Action Enhanced to Approve Multiple Invoices

This enhancement provides you with the ability to select and approve multiple invoices using the Approve Invoice action.

Logistics Network Modeling

Insert, Update and Delete Order Release Using Scenario Data Change

This feature provides you with an enhanced Scenario Data Changes option for the Object Type = Order_Release.  For the Order_Release Object Type, you now have the option to specify a Change Type of either Update, Insert or Delete.   While the Change Type of Insert is functionally the same capability available to all the other Object types - the additions of Insert and Delete provide you with some extremely powerful modeling options.

For example, you are now able to easily duplicate an existing order by selecting the Change Type = Insert and then specifying the Number of New Objects (copies of the specified order release) you want to model.

Ability to Group Orders by Flex Fields in Scenario Bulk Plan

This feature provides you with additional criteria that you can use to Group By when defining your Bulk Plan Specifications in your modeling scenarios.  The additional Group By fields include Flex Field Strings, Flex Field Numbers, Flex Field Dates, and Flex Field Currencies.  The additional Group By criteria allows you to easily set different values for different attribute fields on your orders that can then be added to your Bulk Plan Specifications on your modeling scenarios.

Export/Import

This feature provides you with the ability to easily Export all the data required to run a project or scenario from one server/domain and then Import the exported data into another server/domain.  This feature also supports a Data Masking export option which allows you to clear or replace sensitive data like locations, service providers, and contacts with fictitious data,  The Data Making option should be used for any exports you plan to send to Oracle Support.

Additional Data Rules

For those of you who are using Logistics Network Modeling, this feature provides you with additional Table Name options when you define your Data Rules where the Rule Type of Column is selected.

The Additional Data Rule Table Names available include:

  • Ship_Unit
  • Location_Profile
  • Equipment_Group_Profile
  • Equipment_Group
    • Includes Column Name info for Compartment and ERUs
  • Capacity_Usage
  • Capacity_Limit
  • Carrier_Commitment

Modeling Shipment View

This feature provide you with a Modeling Shipment View Manager that allows you to easily view the details about your Modeling Shipments. Details provided in the new Modeling Shipment View include stop level details as well as general information about your Logistics Modeling Shipments.

Update Order Release Date Java Plugin

This feature provides you with a Data Rule Definition option that allows you to set the pickup and/or delivery dates on your Logistics Network Modeling orders with dates that are relative to a selected pickup or delivery that is already on the order.

For example - you can set the late pickup date, early delivery date and late delivery date by increasing the number of days those dates are set from the early pickup date on the order.  This feature makes it easy for you to simulate the impact of different order time widow strategies.  For example - simulate the impact of a same day vs 2 day order delivery window policy.

Global Trade Management (Base)

This feature provides you with the ability to create tariff rules of interpretation that you can then add to your item classifications allowing you to track and audit which rule of interpretation was used to classify an item. The rules of interpretation has been incorporated into classification related Item Actions, Automation Agent Actions and Process Management.

Update Classification Includes Tariff Rules of Interpretation and Binding Ruling Data

This feature extends the Update Classification capabilities to include specifying the tariff rules of interpretation, binding ruling date, and binding ruling number that support the classification code assigned.

Classify Item Action Includes Tariff Rules of Interpretation and Binding Ruling Data

For those clients using the Classify Item action to classify items, this feature extends the item classification process provided by that action so you can now specify the tariff rules of interpretation, binding ruling date, and binding ruling number that support the classification code being assigned.

Specify Tariff Rules of Interpretation and Binding Ruling Data on Product Classification Template

This feature provides you with the ability to add the Tariff Rules of Interpretation ID, Binding Ruling Number, and Binding Ruling Date to your Product Classification Template.  When you then run the Apply Product Classification Template action on your Item, GTM will copy all of the product classification information into the Product Classifications grid on the Trade Details tab.

Assign Item Classification Action on Item

For clients using GTM to manage their item classifications, the Assign Item Classification enhancement provides you with the ability to enter a specific product classification type and product classification code to classify your item. This action is extremely helpful in the situation where you have already performed your research and know the product classification code, plus other information, that you want to assign to the item.

Support for Pseudo-Fields for Product Classification Codes

This feature allows you to configure pseudo-fields for your classification codes on your Item, Product Classification, Transaction Line and Declaration Line screensets.  Once configured, you will be able to enter and update the defined pseudo-field directly on the UI without having to manage the value within a grid.

Updates to Lookup Classification and Verify Classification Actions on the Line

The functionality of the Lookup Classification action and Verify Classification action have been changed to better support updating of the classification status and required classification information. This change is available via Optional Features in GTM and affects both the trade transaction line and declaration line.

Improvements:

  • When you trigger the Lookup Classification action on the transaction line or declaration line, GTM copies the existing classification data on an item to the line.
  • When you trigger the Verify Classification action, GTM clears any existing required classification data from the line and then looks at the service preference specified on the action to add the updated list of classification data to the Required Classification grid on the line. It will then set the TL_PRODUCT_CLASSIFICATION status on the transaction line.
  • If product classification data is entered manually on the line or via integration, the TL_PRODUCT_CLASSIFICATION status is not set on the transaction line or declaration line.

Improvements to Setting of Product Classification Status

This feature provides you with an improvement for how the Lookup Classification action and the Verify Classification actions support updating of the classification status. This optional feature - once enabled - supports the following behavior:

  • When you trigger the Lookup Classification action on the transaction line or declaration line, GTM no longer updates the TL_PRODUCT_CLASSIFICATION status on the line.
  • When you trigger the Verify Classification action, GTM sets the TL_PRODUCT_CLASSIFICATION status on the transaction line and declaration line.
  • If product classification data is entered manually on the line or via integration, the TL_PRODUCT_CLASSIFICATION status is not set on the transaction line or declaration line.

Required Classification Data Available in Product Classification Grid on Transaction Line

This feature provides you with an improved process for updating your classification status and required classification information. The improvements include moving the Required Classification to the transaction line. You can now view the Required Classification information by selecting the Verify Classification button under the Product Classification grid on the transaction line.

Now when you select the Verify Classification button, GTM displays the Transaction Line - Verify Classifications page where you can see the Transaction Line ID and Item ID and the list of required product classification types and codes. If a product classification code is missing, GTM will inform you that a product classification code is missing and the specific product classification type. A helpful Information bar tells you if the Transaction Line status for classification is complete or incomplete.

Optional Feature - Manage Status by Verify Classification

When you, the DBA, enable this feature, the TL_PRODUCT_CLASSIFICATION status on transaction line will only be set by Verify Classification action.

Tariff Eligibility Screening Via Automation Agent

This feature provides you with the ability to trigger tariff eligibility screening via an automation agent. The CHECK TARIFF ELIGIBILITY agent action with the Savings Threshold employed will automate the identification of the trade programs for an item that are truly eligible and warrant further consideration.

The savings threshold allows you to set a savings threshold that must be exceeded before the trade program is considered eligible. For example, if you enter a savings threshold of 3%, GTM will only consider trade programs where the percentage rate is less than the general rate by 3% or more. If the general rate for your product is 10% but there is a trade program rate of 5%, GTM would consider the trade program since the savings threshold is exceeded.

Mark for Purge Available for Campaign Data

This feature extends the mark for purge capabilities to your Campaigns in GTM. Once you have marked a campaign for purge you, the DBA, can purge the record in the UI or through a scheduled purge process that you run against the object.

A sample NAFTA document has been provided to help demonstrate the functionality, but you can easily build your own documents for other programs.

Trade Program Profile Power Data

This feature provides you with a new Trade Program Profile power data item that you can use to group your trade programs. This Trade Program Profile can then be specified when triggering tariff eligibility screening using an automation agent. When you specifying a Trade Program Profile you have the ability to narrow down the list of trade programs that can be considered during eligibility screening and assigned to the item origin.

Capture User and Date for Tariff Eligibility Screening

For improved change control, now when you trigger the Tariff Eligibility Screening on your Item either with the UI action or with an agent action, GTM will capture the user who performed eligibility screening and the date (date and time) the eligibility screening was performed. This information can be viewed in the Item Classification Manager or when you edit a row in the Product Classifications grid on the Item.

For the users of AES filing, this feature provides you with a Document Validation Rule that confirms that the filer reported in the ISA04/ISA05 is the same as the USPPI reported in the N1 segment. In the case where the filer and USPPI are not the same, then a forwarding agent must be reported in the N1 segment. In addition, the AES Filing Template has also been enhanced to support this AES enhancement.

Specify Trade Program As Part of Declaration Aggregation Criteria

Automatically Assign Trade Program to Transaction Line and Declaration Line

With this new feature, you can now automatically assign the trade program to your transaction line or declaration line using a compliance rule. This will help reduce user data entry for scenarios where the business process is known and can be pre-defined as a compliance rule.

Look Up Trade Program Action on Trade Transaction and Declaration

The Look Up Trade Program Action provides you with the ability to lookup the trade program on an item and copy that information to the trade transaction line or declaration line. When the Look Up Trade Program Action is run, GTM looks at the item on the line and analyzes the item origin data on the item. If an item origin meets the constraints defined in the constraint set, the corresponding trade program is copied over to the line.  The copied information can then be used in compliance screening, document generation, and customs filing.
