Transportation and Global Trade Management
Transportation and Global Trade Platform
Optional Feature - Limit Simultaneous SQL Execution
This Optional Feature, when enabled, limits the memory growth for simultaneous SQL Execution Interface requests.
Optional Feature - Limit CSV Export Memory
This Optional Feature, when enabled, limits the memory growth for simultaneous CSV Export requests.
Optional Feature - UI Refresh - Landing Page, Springboard, Application Shell and Navigator
This optional feature provides you with a number of user interface improvements covering key elements of the user interface including, the default theme, Landing Page, Springboard, Application Shell, Navigator and Search. These UI improvements provide a more intuitive, cleaner and more modern user experience.
UI Configuration Parameter Retain New Line Format
This feature expands the parameters supported by the UI Configuration Logic Configuration to include a new parameter - RETAIN NEW LINE FORMAT IN GRID TEXT BOXES - which, when set to TRUE, will retain the new line formatting that you enter in the text box once the text is saved to the grid. The parameter value is set to FALSE by default.
Screen Set Results Configuration Improvements
This feature provides you with two usability improvements related to setting up your screen set results.
- When you specify a label name for a column, the original column name is now being retained so that the original field mapping is apparent.
- When you define a pseudo field, the qualifier used for the pseudo field definition is now being provided so you understand how the pseudo field was defined/which qualifier was used.
Configurable Results Pop-Up for Custom Action
This feature provides you with the ability to configure both the Result Message Text pop-up and the Auto Close Result Message Timer for the Text pop-up provided when you configure a Custom Action. This new capability allows you to create a result text pop-up that is more meaningful and more specific to the action/agent being run. In addition, you can also set an auto close timer for the text message so that you or your users are no longer required to minimize the message pop-up dialog box.
Upload Action Extended to Handle Multiple Documents in a Single Action
For each business object that supports the Upload document action, you will be able to select multiple files to upload in the single action. The action will display the files uploaded and the content can be viewed for each file. The uploaded files will be associated with a document record for the business object that they were uploaded to.
This feature provides you with a Bulk Query capability that can be used - in a two-step approach - to improve the process (and performance) of extracting data from OTM/GTM. Using this feature, you first perform a Bulk Query to return a list of primary keys for the resource of interest, e.g. all shipments created today. Then you use the list of primary keys provided by the Bulk Query to perform a looping resource retrieval process to extract the details of interest, working through the list of returned primary keys in a controlled/metered out retrieval process (i.e., a few at a time, not all at once) to avoid over burdening the system.
This feature extends the resource querying capabilities provided in the REST API. Saved queries will now support 'bind parameters', that allows your saved queries to be executed with different parameter values substituted within the query. For example, queries like "retrieve all order releases with a source location of X" or "retrieve all shipments with a total weight greater than Y", are now possible for different values of X and Y.
Insert Date and Update Date Provided for Child Resources
This feature extends the availability of the insert date and update date fields to the child resources. This feature provides you with the option to now query for the Child Resources using these dates - for example - query for all the order release lines that were updated yesterday. The insert date and update date fields for the child resources are provided by default.
New/Modified Resources - External System and Order Movement
This feature extends the REST services resources available to include the External System. The operations available for the Order Movement resource have been extended to include Create and Update.
This feature provides you with a new "upload" action that allows you to load document content into an existing (previously created) document that does not contain content.
Optional Feature - Use Download Link for REST Document Content
This feature, when enabled, will show a link to the document content download action in the standard links collection rather than within the current content child resource.
Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) to Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) Upgrade
This feature upgrades the infrastructure used to provide analytics and reporting in OTM and GTM from Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) Version 12.2.1.4 to the latest release of Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) Version 5.9.
OAS provides the opportunity, in future releases, to take advantage of the many new features and capabilities provided by this platform such as Data Visualizations, Data enrichment capabilities, Machine Learning in Data Flows etc.
Subject Area-Specific Dashboards and New Dashboard Links
This feature provides you with the ability to add multiple subject area dashboard links to your menu. This new capability is demonstrated by a set of Public subject area specific Dashboards that have been provided for Financials, Shipments, Planning, Fleet Management, Machine Learning, Customs, and Trade Transactions.
The Metric Notification Profile feature allows you to define the metrics to gather - log files, JRA Recording, Heap Dump and Performance Collection Types and then define who should receive this information - either contacts in the system or ad hoc contacts. Once defined, you can use/reuse the Metric Notification Profile to email (as attachments) all the logs and metric collections specified in the selected Metric Notification Profile to the set of contacts listed in the profile.
Optional Feature - Use Direct SQL for Audit Trail Cleanup
This Optional Feature, when enabled, uses a direct SQL approach for cleaning up your audit details when the Audit Trail cleanup process is run. The SQL approach provides the same functionality as the current existing EJB bean remove method, but the SQL approach provides much better performance.
Logistics Machine Learning Enhancements
This feature adds a number of enhancements to OTM's Machine Learning capabilities. Enhancements provided include improvements to the Machine Learning Scenario Filtering for shipments and outliers, the ability to trigger the prediction via an agent action, persistence of prediction arrival times against the shipment stop, and the ability to perform post prediction analytics.
Oracle Transportation Management (Base)
Order Release Constraints Ocean Sail Dates and Voyage ID
This feature allows you to specify, on your order release, the desired Sail Date (early/late) or Voyage ID that should be considered for the ocean leg (primary leg) when planning the order.
This feature allows you to identify a Pack With Group on your order lines so that ship unit packing - using order config AutoCalc - can be guided by the Pack With Group value(s) specified. You will find specifying a Pack With Group on your order lines to be beneficial in situations where you need OTM's ship unit packing logic to follow external packing requirements.
For example - in a Ready To Ship scenario where multiple lines are released from multiple POs onto a single order release - you may wish to keep the lines from the different POs segregated versus having OTM pack the multiple lines together on a single ship unit, this requirement can be handled using the Pack With Group functionality.
Ready To Ship Action On Large A Number Of Order Base Lines
This feature allows you to configure OTM so that your Ready To Ship scenarios that involve a large number of lines can be processed. Specifically, this feature provides you with two new properties that - together - provide you with the possibility to process your Ready To Ship scenarios where you have a large number (e.g., greater than 999) of order base lines.
Multi-Select View Related Order Releases Action on Buy Shipments
This feature provides you a multi-select Shipment View Action - View Related Order Releases - that allows you to select multiple Buy Shipments and then run the View Related Order Releases action to see all the order releases related to the selected buy shipments. The order release finder results returned by this action supports all the normal Order Release actions - so you are able to perform any changes required - Unschedule orders, Move orders, etc. directly from the result screen.
Include TiHi THUs on Packaged Item in THU Profile
This feature provides you with a new parameter INCLUDE TIHI THUS ON PACKAGE ITEM IN THU PROFILE, that when set to TRUE, will allow OTM, during ship unit building, to dynamically include the TiHi THUs on the Packaged Item In the THU Profile considered.
Property to Turn Off Logic Setting Order Release Known Shipper Value from Order Base
This feature provides you with a new property, glog.order.setIsKnownShipperFromOrderBase, that allows you to turn off the logic that sets the Known Shipper value on your Order Release from the Order Base. The Known Shipper functionality is applicable to a very specific Air Schedule selection use case, and in most implementations, is unnecessary. Turning off the logic used to check and set the Order Release Known Shipper from the Order Base has the potential of improving performance.
Property to Turn Off Logic Setting Order Release Item Out of Date Status
This feature provides you with a new property glog.order.newOrderReleaseLine.checkItemEffectiveDates that allows you to turn off the following logic. On the order release line level, OTM can check if the item effective/expiration date is outside the range of the order's early pickup date - if this is the case, then the order status type PLANNING will have a status value of ITEM OUT OF DATE. The property is off by default to avoid running the check unnecessarily. Turning this property on will execute the item out of date logic check.
Add Ship Unit Content to Order Movement XML
This feature provides the option to include the Ship Unit Content (Line) data in your Order Movement outbound XML.
Equipment Reference Unit Rounding Threshold and Rounding Grouping Level
This feature provides you with the ability to set a Rounding Threshold and Rounding Grouping Level when defining your Equipment Reference Units (ERUs). Setting these values will impact how the grouped ERU totals are rounded - either up or down.
You will find this feature extremely useful in situations where ERUs are used to model whole pallet spaces consumed in a trailer and the calculation and consumption of the available space should be done such that fractional values are rounded up or down to whole units.
Enhanced and Extended Set of Flex Field Related Rate Basis Items
This feature provides you with a set of over 90 Flex Field-related Rate Basis Items (RBIs) that you can use to support your Flex Field-based Rating scenarios.
These new RBIs extend the Flex Field-based RBIs to include additional options for Line Item, Order Line Item, and Ship Unit Line Item. The new RBIs also provide an improvement over the Flex Field RBIs provided in the 6.4.2 release by providing the ability to specify multiple flexible attributes that all must be met to satisfy the condition of the rate record.
HERE Speed Profile Type Parameter
This feature provides you with the option of setting the HERE Technology Speed Profile value you want to use. The options available are either the Default Speed Profile, which uses a truck speed profile or the new option, Fast, which uses a default speed profile for a car.
The Speed Profile Fast option, if applicable for your operation, can provide you with improvements in solution quality by allowing for more stops to be completed in a day.
Spot Tender Planner View Screen
This feature provides you with an enhanced finder/finder result Spot Tender Planner view that provides information about all of the in-process spot bids for a shipment. The spot bid tender planner view is available as a standalone finder/finder result UI which allows you to query for your shipment's spot bid tender transactions directly or this view can be incorporated within a workbench as a child table linked to your shipments so that you can easily review your outstanding spot bids by shipment. The screen can be configured to included or exclude the information you wish to see by using standard Screen Set Manager functionality.
As part of this feature the 'Award Bid' function is now available as an action. As a menu action it can be configured to be included or not included on a per screen set basis as well as configured to support action checks that can be run prior to awarding the bid. In addition, Spot Adjusted cost is now being stored on Tender Collab Table and can be added to your Spot Tender Planner response screens.
Saved Query for Service Providers with Spot Bid Tenders
This feature provides you with the option of using a saved query that is capable of taking in the current shipment GID to identify the list of service providers to include in a spot bid tender. For example, the saved query can check the attribute values on the current shipment against data fields on the service provider to construct the list of service providers that meet the conditions desired for the spot offer. The saved query option can be used in conjunction with the existing lane-based approach used to identify service providers to consider for a spot bid tender.
Spot Tender Bid Response Proposed Pickup Time
This feature supports the input of a service provider proposed pickup time as part of the service provider's bid response. When this feature is configured, the planner has the option, as part of the awarding process, to have the service provider's proposed time, for the winning service provider, update the pickup stop time.
Require New Spot Bid to Be Greater Than the Existing Bid
This feature allows you to configure your Spot Bid Tender process so that Service Providers, who change their original Spot Bid, are forced to only submit a subsequent bid that is greater than their existing/current bid.
This new capability removes the opportunity for Service Providers to engage in auction sniping, where the Service Provider submits a last second bid that is just a fraction lower than their current bid in an attempt to win the bid in the last moments.
Spot Tender Decline Option for Service Providers
This feature provides service providers, who have been included in a spot bid tender, the option to Decline from participating in the bid directly on the spot tender screen or from the OTM link of the spot bid notification email. Service providers can Decline to participate even after they have submitted a bid.
Spot Bid and Broadcast Tender - Turnoff Withdraw Tender Emails for No Bid
This feature provides you with the option to send withdraw notifications only to those service providers who submit a bid. This feature reduces the overhead related to the generation and transmission of unnecessary emails while simultaneously reducing the volume of nuisance emails received by your service providers.
Selected Shipment Remark Qualifier for Tender Communication
This feature allows you to select a shipment remark qualifier that will be used to prominently display that remark qualifier's value on your service provider's Online Booking/Tendering response screen. You will find this feature particularly useful in situations where you need to communicate certain instructions or important information (like "Hot Shipment") to your service providers when they are reviewing their outstanding tenders.
Transportation Operational Planning
This feature provides you with the ability for OTM to plan the partial/remnant portion of an order independently from the full truck/container portion of that same order.
You will find this feature particularly useful in scenarios where you often find yourself planning order quantities where most of the order ships direct, while the remnant portion of your order should be planned on a different route looking for different opportunities for cost savings, for example, shipping the remnant portion via a cross dock.
Define Location Activity Time by Service Provider(s) and Equipment Group(s)
This feature extends the options available to you for defining your Location Activity Times to include a Service Provider Profile and an Equipment Group Profile. With this capability, you can now setup location activity times for your fleet service provider that are different from your common carrier location activity times.
Maximum Distance Between Stops Enhancement
This feature extends OTM's planning capabilities to better support scenarios where you wish to limit the time and distance traveled between deliver stops and (potential) backhaul pickup stops, but you do not wish to have that same distance/time limitation applied to the linehaul portion of your multi-stop shipment.
This feature provides you with additional parameters you can use to tune the solution generated by the Cluster Merge algorithm. Two of the new parameters provide control over the size and number of clusters considered by the algorithm. Tuning these parameters provides you with the opportunity to balance between solution quality and run-time. In addition, this feature provides a third parameter that allows you to decide what happens after the clusters are formed - one of the options provided gives you visibility into the Cluster Merge process itself so that tuning the Cluster Merge parameters can be informed by the intermediate steps involved in the cluster creation process.
Load Configuration 3D Pattern - Active Inactive Check Box
This feature provides you with the ability to set your Load Configuration 3D Patterns as Active or Inactive. This feature gives you control over the 3D Patterns considered in planning.
User Defined Patterns - Consider Full Equipment User Defined Pattern First
This feature provides you with the option to favor Full User Defined Patterns that fill a container over other User Defined Patterns that may provide a slightly higher utilization, but involve a mix of items. This change allows you to factor in the real-world cost and effort associated with loading a slightly less well utilized piece of equipment with a single homogenous product versus loading the same container with a mix of products, that may provide better utilization, but operationally requires more time and cost to load.
Additional Constraints Considered in Edit Load Config
This feature adds three additional constraints that will be considered when you use the Edit Load Config tool to edit your 3D Load Configuration solutions. The additional constraints include No Loading Split Items Below check, Number of Items Directly Below check, Overhang check and Maximum Top Weight Load Bearing check.
Freight Payment, Billing, and Claims
Shipment Group Invoice Financials Processing - Auto-Pay and Match-Pay
This feature extends OTM's Financials capabilities to support both auto-pay and match-pay invoice processing for Shipment Groups. With this feature, you can now generate an invoice from a shipment group (auto-pay), match received invoices to your shipment groups (match-pay), tolerate the invoices received at the shipment group level, approve the invoices for payment and then voucher the invoice.
The ability to perform payment processing at the Shipment Group level provides you with the logical next step in the operational solution capabilities provided by the extremely flexible Shipment Group concept which has been used to model everything from Ocean Bookings, Summarizing Dedicated Fleet Weekly/Monthly Activity, Compound Lot Handling Charges, etc.
Recharge Processing Using UI Actions
This feature provides the option for you to perform the Recharge Process through Voucher UI actions. The new manager layout configurable UI actions, Determine Recharge and Perform Recharge along with the Allocate Voucher action, provides you with the set of actions required to, if desired, accomplish the Recharge Process though the UI versus accomplishing this process through agent actions.
Attribute Fields Added to Allocation Details for Order Release, Order Release Line and Order Base Line
This feature enhances the ALLOCATION_ORDER_RELEASE_D and ALLOCATION_OR_LINE_D, ALLOCATION_OB_LINE_D, tables to include the standard set of Attribute Fields.
Attribute Fields added include:
- 20 Varchar2 fields
- 20 Date fields
- 20 Number fields
- 3 Currency fields
You will find the additional attribute fields beneficial in situations where upstream systems are dependent on the information mapped into these fields for properly processing allocation details at the Order Release, Order Release Line or Order Base Line level.
Work Assignment - Out and Back Pair Building Resource Count Enhancement
This feature provides you with an enhancement to the Work Assignment resource scheduler logic that allows the logic to better identify and pair together - during work assignment planning - pairs of additional shipments that provide a desirable out and back combination.
You will find this new logic particularly beneficial in solving problems where the ideal resources work assignment for the day can be planned as a series complementary outbound and inbound shipment pairs.
Logistic Digital Assistant Enhancements
This feature provides you with several improvements to the Logistics Digital Assistant. The OTM user's language preference is now used and supported within the Digital Assistant dialog flow. Several improvements have been made to the dialog flow itself to improve the user interaction with the bot. For example, the timestamp has been removed from the dialog bubbles to improve the conversational flow and an intermediate summary has been provided to allow for a smooth and more natural transition between the high level summary and the low level details.
Global Trade Management (Base)
Enhancements to Item Classification Audit Trail
To provide users with better visibility into the history of their user actions, when you audit item classification data, GTM now includes more details in the audit trail. This helps you to understand what data changed, who changed it and when they changed it.
Flex Field Attributes Added to Trade Item Structure and Trade Item Structure Component
This feature provides additional Flex Field Attributes on the Trade Item Structure and Trade Item Structure Component. These additional Flex Field Attributes provide you with more options for modeling data on an item structure and provide enhanced configuration capabilities and more flexibility,
Improve Unit of Measure Support for Certain Types
To better support the declaration creation and customs filing processes, this enhancement enables you to use new Units of Measure Types, including Quantity, Area, and Length and use them throughout GTM.
Improvements to Stylesheet for Email Notification
To improve the usability of email notifications, the email notification stylesheet for "Ad Hoc Notify Contact" in the GTM TRANSACTION agent has been enhanced so that you can see the transaction details in the preview pane of the email.
XML Integration and REST API for Trade Item Values
To support large-scale deployments and improve data integrity, integration of Item Value data on the Item master is now supported via both XML and REST APIs.
New Fields Available on Item Qualification
To better support the trade agreement qualification business process, new fields have been added to the item qualification record which provides you additional details about the qualification of the associated item origin for a trade agreement.
Rules of Origin Formulae Added to Trade Agreement
To improve the configurability of GTM's trade agreement qualification process, a Rules of Origin Formulae grid has been added which identifies all the rules of origin types and their corresponding formulae for a particular trade agreement. This helps you to visualize and configure the various formulae for all the rules of origin types that a trade agreement supports.
Item Value Lookup During Trade Agreement Qualification
To provide support for multi-sourcing organizations using the trade agreement qualification process, the ability to lookup Item Values by Inventory Organization, Partner, and Partner Site during the qualification process is now supported, including the ability to handle details at the lot or serial level if required.
Origin Lookup During Trade Agreement Qualification
To support manufacturers who produce the same item in multiple locations, the qualification process has been improved to handle multi-sourcing of components and will correctly identify the appropriate country of origin for a component from the inventory organization, partner, and partner site identified in the item structure.
Qualify for Trade Agreement Action on Item
To improve the user experience for trade agreements users, the ability to qualify for a trade agreement is now directly available as an action on the Item. In the case where you manufacture the same item in multiple locations, this version of the action on the Item also provides the ability to qualify the item structures used by multiple organizations with a single action significantly reducing clicks and data entry for users.
Qualify for Trade Agreement Action on Item Origin
To improve the user experience for trade agreements users, the ability to qualify for a trade agreement is now directly available as an action on the Item Origin.
Qualify for Trade Agreement Action on Trade Item Structure

Enhancements to View Qualification Report
To support the trade agreement process, using the View Qualification Report button on a trade agreement qualification results screen or Item Qualification record will now show a full PDF report with both header and component level analysis detailing the process that has occurred to qualify the item.
Support for Wholly Obtained Items in Qualification Process
To support the trade agreement qualification process, a new flag to indicate if an item is wholly obtained has been added to both the Item and the Item Origin, allowing users to indicate if an item they procure or manufacture is wholly obtained and also optionally manage this at the inventory organization, partner, partner site level if necessary for multi-sourcing scenarios.
Support for Additional Rules of Origin Rule Types
To better support users of trade agreements and broaden the applicability of the rules of origin qualification engine, a number of new rule types are now supported, including:
- No Tariff Shift
- Conditions
- 50/50
- Wholly Obtained
Automatically Populate Value Note When a Value is System Calculated
To provide context for the calculation of a value on a transaction line or declaration line, a value note can now be entered on a value formula that will be appended to the results saved with the results of the calculation and made visible to the user.
Search Trade Transactions and Declarations Based on Location Information
To improve the user experience, you can now search for transactions and declarations based on the various locations related to the record.
