Workbench

Next Generation Enhanced Workbench

This feature provides you with the first release of the next generation of Workbench Layouts and Workbench Designer developed using Oracle JET technology. The new Enhanced Workbench provides you with most of the same features and functionality of the original Workbench (developed using ADF technology) while providing you with a long list of usability, functionality and performance improvements.

The new Enhanced Workbench and the old Workbench capabilities will continue to coexist to provide you with ample time to migrate all of your Workbench Layouts.

This first release of the Enhanced Workbench is provided for you to review and test the capabilities; the first release should not be promoted into production.

User Interface

Display User Defined Image Description When Hovering

This feature provides you with the ability to configure your Screensets to have the Description field displayed as the hover text when you hover over your User Defined Images.  This enhancement applies to finder results only; this will be enabled for Workbench Tables in a later release.

Screen Set Inline Edit and Mass Update Supports Flex Field Types

Screen Set Inline Edit and Mass Update supports editing Flex Fields that have field types of:

  • FlexPickList
  • FlexDropList
  • FixedDropList

New Property to Configure the Tables to Not Validate XID Characters

This feature provides you with a new property - glog.ui.validateXid.suppress - that you can use to select the table or tables you do not wish to have your XIDs validated for when the Validate ID feature is enabled.  Until promoted (always on/enabled), the Optional Feature Validate ID (released in 21A) allows you to enable or disable the validation functionality.   Once the feature is promoted, the only way to "skip" the XID validation for a table will be to add the table to this property.

UI Logic Configuration Parameter - Show Domain Name for Duplicate Values

This feature provides you with a new UI Logic Configuration Setting - Show Domain Name For Duplicates Values - that will, when configured, in situations where duplicate drop down values are found, display the domain name next to the drop down list value so you can select the right value based on the domain.

Document Management

SharePoint Online Content Management System Integration Using MS Graph API

This feature adds SharePoint Online as an additional content management system option that you can use to store and manage your documents.  This feature provides you with the ability to add, view, modify and delete documents that are stored in SharePoint Online using OTM/GTM's document management capabilities.

Expand Document Actions and Features to Additional Objects

This feature expands the available document actions (Add/Upload etc.) to a number of objects where the document actions and features where not previously enabled.

Upload Document Action with Document Type Assignment

This feature provides you with the ability to - as part of the Upload Document Action - specify the uploaded documents Document Type.  The feature supports the Document Type assignment for one or multiple documents.

Integration

Consolidated Schema

This feature provides you with a consolidated schema definition - OTMGTM.xsd -  that consolidates the separate schema files into one root document.  The consolidated schema has been provided to simplify the use of third party tools for the validation and processing of messages.

DBXML Maximum Message Size Increased to 10MB

This feature doubles the DBXML export and import maximum message size to 10 MB (megabytes).

Inbound Integration Acknowledgement Pre-Staging

This feature breaks up the processing of inbound XML transmissions into two-steps - step 1 receives and saves the transmission - allowing OTM to transmit the acknowledgement (ACK) for the inbound transmission, then step 2 involves processing the transactions in the transmission.  This two-step process, for transmissions containing a large number of transactions, allows for the transmission ACK to be returned more quickly.

Override Dataqueue Parameter

The optional feature OVERRIDE DATAQUEUE PARAMETER overrides parameter settings so that inbound transmissions always use integration data queues.

Add Event Date to Order Release XML

This feature adds the Event Date to the Tracking Event data provided within the Order Release XML.

Technical Features

Historical Metrics Enhanced

This feature provides you with a set of enhancements to the Historical Metrics capabilities.  The Historical Metrics feature allows you to proactively monitor the health and performance of your OTM/GTM instances. In this update, you will find enhancements across the Historical Metric platform, including improvements in your ability to collect metrics, set thresholds and send notifications when your performance metrics exceed defined thresholds.

Protect Security Caches

The optional feature, PROTECT SECURITY CACHES - disallows any cache clears from affecting security caches.

Timeout Property Access

The optional feature, TIMEOUT PROPERTY ACCESS - supports timeouts for property retrieval and update.

DBXML Security Updates with Auto Cache Handling

This optional feature - DBXML SECURITY UPDATES WITH AUTO CACHE HANDLING - allows DBXML import of various security records without the need for any manual cache refresh. 

Transportation and Global Trade Management UI Automation Sample Selenium Scripts

A set of sample Selenium scripts with documentation, is now available for you to review and consider using as a basis for creating your own Selenium scripts to help with your OTM/GTM UI testing efforts.  The scripts and documentation are found under MOS Note 2822896.1.

Automatic Indexing Enabled for Archive Schema

This feature enables Automatic Indexing on the archive schema to facilitate queries on archived data to support your audit reporting requirements.

REST Services

Outbound REST

This feature provides you with the ability to send outbound REST in the same REST resource formats used for inbound messages.

Send REST Event Notification Agent Action

This feature provides you with a new agent action - SEND REST EVENT, that you can use to communicate to external systems that a lifetime event has been triggered against an object. The event information received can then be used to initiate a GET for the related object.  With the event notify and GET approach, you have the option to either GET the complete object or parse down your GET request to just the elements of interests. 

Read Only Shipment Group Resource Added to REST API

The feature extends the available REST Resources to include the Shipment Group along with the Shipment Group's Secondary Charge details.  The Shipment Group REST Resource supports a GET (read only) request.   

Batch Asynchronous Support for Power Data Resources

This feature provides you with the option to asynchronously load your Power Data resources in batch. See online REST API documentation for available resources.

UI Configuration

Contact Manager Moved to Manager Layout

This feature provides you with the ability to configure your Contact Manager using standard Manager Layout functionality.  With this feature, you can easily move, remove and re-label the fields displayed on the Contact Manager Layout - both for View and Edit.

Power Unit - Grid Fatten Remark Field

This feature provides you with the ability to grid fatten the Remark field on the Power Unit Screen set.  

Packaged Item Description Visible After Running Add New Line Item Added

This feature provides visibility to the Packaged Item Description on the Ship Unit Form immediately after you run add a New Line Item and select Save.  Before this feature, if you wanted to see the Packaged Item Description for the new line item, you would have had to save the order release and then edit the order release, now you see the Packaged Item Description Immediately after hitting Save.

Manager Layout Direct URL Link In Stylesheet to User's Configured Manager Layout

This feature supports the ability to have your direct OTM URL link; link into the user’s configured Manager Layout instead of the PUBLIC Manager Layout.  This capability is provided for the Buy Shipment Manager Layout, Order Release Manager Layout and Invoice Manager Layout.

Create Secondary Charge Action Moved to Manager Layout

This feature enhances the Create Secondary Charge action on the Shipment and Shipment Group to include manager layout capabilities allowing you to configure the action input screen to, for example, hide unnecessary fields, and make fields mandatory to insure that important input is provided.

Work Assignment Screen Set - Results Add User Defined Images and Indicator

This feature enhances to the Work Assignment Screen Set to include User Defined Images (1-5) and an Indicator.

Planning Actions

Create Multi-Block Shipment - Shipment Action

This feature provides you with a new Create Multi-Block Shipment action that  - when the prerequisites are provided  - will create a multi-stop shipment from a selected set of direct shipments where the stops in this scenario model the delivery of one or more shipment equipment(s) at the stops.   You will find this feature useful in all your European Unit Train rail scenarios where the unit train can involve delivering sets rail cars at different junction points along the route.

Create Work Assignment Shipment Sort Display Property

This feature provides you with a property that you can use to configure the sort order of the selected input shipments used in the Create Work Assignment action.  The property allows you to sort the shipments either in an ascending Shipment Start Time order or in descending Shipment Start Time Order.  If you manually create work assignments and you want the work assignments to be created in either an ascending or descending Shipment Start Time order, this feature will doing the sorting for you  and save you the time that you spent previously in manually sorting the shipments to achieve the desired ordering.

Enhanced Split Shipment Action - Split by Delivery Stop

This feature provides you with an additional Split Shipment By action option that allows you to easily review, select and split your selected shipment by delivery stop and by order release(s).  You will find the new shipment split option particularly beneficial in any outbound oriented situation involving many delivery stops with each stop, potentially, containing many order releases.

Add Repack Ship Unit and Repack Equipment Action Menu Options to Sell Shipment

This feature provides you with the ability to add the action menu options Repack Existing Equipment and Repack S Ship Unit to your Sell Side Shipment Manager.

Move Order to Shipment Action Supports Multi Order Select

This feature enhances the Move Order To Shipment action to allow you to select and move multiple orders to the shipment in a single run of the action.  You will find this feature useful in any situation where you have the need to quickly select and move multiple orders to a shipment.

Change Equipment Action Recalculate Input Options

This feature provides you with a new property that will allow you to configure the Recalculate and Recalculate without Service Provider Change check boxes on the Change Equipment Group action input screen.  The new property supports the default option where the Recalculate and Recalculate without Service Provider Change are not selected - the default setting, or just the Recalculate option is selected or both the Recalculate and Recalculate without Service Provider Change are selected.

Booking and Tendering

Spot Bid Tender - Optional Bids

This feature allows you to extend your spot bid process to include receiving optional bids from your Service Providers. Optional bid conditions supported include supporting bids for different Pickup Date(s), Source Location(s), Destination Location(s), Mode(s), and Transit Time(s).  In addition, for your airfreight related spot bids, this feature provides the ability for the Service Provider to specify the proposed Flight Instance ID and indicate if the flight is a Direct flight.  All of the proposed optional bids, with their condition(s), are available for you to review and compare within the Spot Bid Tender screen.

Spot Bid Action - Generate Lists of Service Providers

This feature provides you with the ability to control how the Spot Bid Action input screen generates and selects the Service Providers to include in a spot bid tender.  You will find this feature extremely useful in any scenario where the number of Service Providers that could be considered for a Spot Tender is large.

Limit Remark Qualifiers for Online Booking/Tendering

This feature provides you with the option of selecting the set of Remark Qualifiers that will be displayed in the Online Booking/Tendering UI. In addition, this feature also provides you with the option of expanding - or not - the Service Providers Details section.

Financials

Invoices - Find Valid Matches Action Includes Shipment Group Matches

This feature expands the capabilities of the Find Valid Matches action to include matching to Shipment Groups.  The Find Valid Matches action now finds all the buy shipments or shipment groups that fit the match rule profiles for a selected invoice. 

Invoice - View Related Shipment Group SmartLink

This feature provides you with a View Related  Shipment Group SmartLink on the Invoice that you can use to view the Invoice's related Shipment Group.

Allocation XML - Sequence Number Added

This enhancement adds the AllocSeqNo and AllocCostSeqno to the AllocationBase outbound xml. The AllocSeqNo and AllocCostSeqno  have been added to the allocation details info for Shipment, Order Release, Order Base and Voucher outbound XMLs.

Shipment Group

Shipment Group Rule Match Date Options Extended to Include Weekly and Monthly Options

This feature extends the Match Date options available to you when defining your Shipment Group Rule to include a Monthly or Weekly grouping options.   These additional options - along with the original options of Daily and Per Day - provide a nice automation option your shipment grouping requirements that require either a weekly or a monthly grouping.

Dock Scheduling

Dock Scheduling Maximum Ship Units Allowed Added to Rule Set

This feature provides you with a Maximum Ship Units Allowed constraint that you can add to your Appointment Rule Sets. This will allow you to constrain your resources to a limited number of ship units so the pickup and delivery activities scheduled at for those resources are not bogged down with loading/unloading stops with a large number of ship units.

Performance and Metrics

Planning Robustness Enhancements

This feature provides a number of new capabilities intended to enhance the robustness of OTM's planning logic to avoid, where possible, situations that would cause the OTM system to run out-of-memory or crash. 

Specific areas now considered include the total number of leg options considered, the number of start time options considered in Location Capacity Optimization, and the identification and avoidance of introducing "bad data" into Conopt.  

Use Improved Delete Shipments Action

This Optional feature provides you with the opportunity of using the improved delete shipment API when deleting shipments.  The new delete shipment API reduces the runtime related to deleting shipments.

Historical Metrics - Components Added for Rate Distance, Rate Service and Rating

This feature extends the historical metric components available to you to include components for Rate Distance, Rate Service and Rating.  You can use these new components to capture performance statics, monitor and compare the statistics over time, set different thresholds and have the system provide notification when performance falls outside of your defined thresholds. 

Rates and Rating

Waybill Date - Rating Date for Shipment

This feature provides you with a new shipment field - Waybill Date - that will allow you to specify the date that should be used in determining the rate(s) to consider for rating the shipment. You will find this feature useful in scenarios where the operational start date of the shipment (the date currently used for determining available rates) is different from the date agreed to/required for rating the shipment for financial purposes.

Rate Basis Item - Shipment Total Distance (Including Depot Stops)

This feature provides you with a new Rate Basis Item (RBI)  - Shipment Total Distance (Including Depot Stops) - that will provide you with a shipments total distance including the distance related to starting from and returning to a depot location.  This feature simplifies the rate setup and rate maintenance required to calculate and rate the total distance for a shipment that includes depot stops. 

Ocean Enhancements

Finder Result with Voyage Arrival/Departure Times At Port Locations

This feature provides you a way to configure your Buy Shipment Finder Results to display the Voyage Depart Arrive Locations (Ports) and the Arrive or Depart Activity Date/Time for your ocean shipments that have been planned using Voyage Schedules.  This additional information provides you with a way to view the Voyage Depart and Arrive Activity Times at the voyage ports along with your Shipment Start and End Times, which could be different, since the Shipment Start and End Time may include additional time to handle inland arbitrary activities and/or port cutoff and recovery times.

Vessel and Vessel Manager Enhancements

This feature provides you with the option to configure the Edit and View manager layout for the Vessel Manager.  This feature also extends the Vessel object to include the standard set of User Defined Fields that you can add to your configured Edit and View Manager Layouts and your Finder and Finder Results Screen Sets.

Usability Enhancements

Add Business Number Generator to Ground Schedules

This feature provides you with the ability to use a business number generator (BNG) to generate your Ground Schedule IDs. Using BNG for your Ground Schedule IDs simplifies the ground schedule creation process and provides you with structure and consistency for the IDs used for your ground schedules.

Decline Reason Code Mandatory for Service Provider Decline and Planner Withdraw/Declines

This feature provides you with the option of having the Decline Reason Code be a mandatory field for Service Provider Declines and/or for your Planner initiated Withdraw or Decline tenders.  By requiring the Decline Reason Code, you will be able to identify common or reoccurring reasons for declined shipment tenders.

Special Service Activity Time at Source Considering Shipment Destination

This feature extends the Special Services definition to support adding additional fixed activity stop time to the source location based on the shipment's destination location. You will find this feature useful in situations where the time required for preparing a shipment at the source location is longer in some situations based on the shipment's final destination location.

Property to Ignore Shipment Tender Status for Service Provider Set Appointments

This feature provides you with a new property that when configured, will allow your Service Providers to set appointments for shipment stops ignoring the current constraint related to the shipment's tender status. Currently, Service Providers are only allowed to set appointments for a shipment if the shipment's tender status is either Accepted, Booked or Pickup Notification.  This feature allows you to ignore this constraint so that your Service Providers can set appointments for shipments regardless of the shipment's tender status.

Perform Recharge Action Order Release Sell Shipment Status to Allow Sell Shipment Delete

This feature, by default, changes the status value for the Order Release status type of PLANNING_SELL to PLANNING_PLANNED - FINAL when the Voucher action Perform Recharge is run.  This status type and value combination allows you to delete the Sell Side shipment created as part of running the Perform Recharge action. 

You have the option to revert to the original behavior, where the status value for the status type of PLANNING_SELL does not change, and the unchanged status value PLANNING_SELL_NEW does not allow the created Sell Side shipment to be deleted.

Equipment Reference Units

Equipment Reference Unit Management

This feature provides you with a number of enhancements related to the visibility and usage of Equipment Reference Units (ERU).

Enhancements include:

  • Persisting to and adding an Equipment Reference Unit grid section to the Shipment Ship Unit Manager for visibility to the number or Equipment Reference Units Per Ship Unit and the overall total number of Equipment Reference Units.
  • Providing visibility to Equipment Reference Unit totals by Equipment Reference Unit ID at the Shipment Level.
  • The option to set/fix the Equipment Reference Units at the Shipment Ship Unit level versus deriving the Equipment Reference Units from the Order Release.

Use S Ship Unit Equip Unit

The optional feature, USE S SHIP UNIT EQUIP REF UNIT - provides you with an easy way to turn on (and off) access to the enhanced and improved Equipment Reference Unit Management capabilities.

External Distance Engines

Trimble PC*MILER Class Overrides for National Network

This feature extends the ALK parameters you can use to configure for your usage of PC*MILER (ALK) to include Class Overrides for the National Network.

HERE Technologies V8 for Distance and Service Time

This feature provides you with the option of configuring your connection to Here Technologies for your Distance and Time requirements using HERE Technologies Version 8.

Logistics Machine Learning

Shipment Flex Fields Available in Machine Learning Scenario

This feature expands the available shipment data that can be incorporated in your machine learning modeling scenarios to include all of the available Shipment Flex fields. With this change, you can easily include external shipment data attributes into your model generation process.

Transportation Intelligence

Data Visualization

This feature provides access to Oracle Data Visualization capabilities that you can use to generate configurable visual analysis (maps, charts, graphs) for your existing subject areas in Transportation Intelligence, Global Trade Intelligence, Logistics Network Modeling and Logistics Machine Learning. 

User Defined Attribute Fields Added to Subject Areas

This feature adds or extends the Transportation Intelligence schema to include User Defined Attribute fields from a variety of OTM objects including Shipment, Shipment Stop, Order Release, Order Movement, Invoice and Invoice line.  The addition of the User Defined Attribute fields extends the facts and dimensions available to you for reporting purposes.

Invoice Involved Party Dimension Enhancement

This feature extends the Transportation Intelligence solution to support the ability to slice your Invoice facts by Involved Party for all your Involved Party qualifiers.

Invoice Approval Status Dimension Added for Invoice

This feature provides you with a new Invoice Dimension - Invoice Approval Status -  that provides you with the invoice approval status value - for example Approval_Approved_Auto and Approval_Approved_Manual.  This additional information will be helpful in any analysis where understanding the different Invoice Approval Status values would be beneficial.
