Improvements to Enhanced Workbench

This feature provides a set of new capabilities and features for the Enhanced Workbench. Improvements have been provided in several areas, including:

Document Management

Manager Layout Enabled Actions: Add Document, Copy Document, Link Document

This feature deprecates the compound Document action Add Document (New, Copy, Link) and replaces the Deprecated Add action with three Manager Layout enabled actions - Add Document, Copy Document, and Link Document.  The individual documents actions and the option to configure the actions using Manager Layout capabilities will simplify the inputs required by the users and will improve usability. 

REST Services

Data Export REST API - Updated Limits When Run Synchronously

This feature establishes a more restrictive limit for the Data Export REST API when the API is run Synchronously versus the intended Asynchronous processing.  The new limits are intended to avoid performance issues related to running the Data Export API Synchronously.

Enable Update Operations for External Statuses

This Optional Feature, when enabled, adds REST API support for Create, Update and Delete for External Status and Values for all business objects supporting External Status Type and Value.

Property Tree Improvements

The Property Tree offers you a comprehensive overview of the system's numerous properties, organizing them into logical groups and subgroups. It provides an enhanced method for identifying the available properties and offers immediate access to three levels of information: Tooltips, which provide a summary of the property's usage, Property Information, which offers further details about the property, and a direct link to the property's Help.

This feature provides you with next release of the Property Tree with major Property Tree additions made for the following areas:

  • Client Sessions
  • Finder
  • Notifications
  • Order
  • Planning
  • UI

UI Infrastructure Usability Improvements

This feature provides a number of UI usability improvements including:

  • Define Workbench Layouts for Business Monitor Queries (Optional)
  • Disable Saved Query Edit in a Screen Set
  • “One Of” Search supports both comma and space separated lists as inputs
  • Remove Leading/Trailing Spaces on Paste in Search Criteria

Domain Settings - Purge Only (No Archive)

This feature is provided to accommodate restrictions related to data retention, with this feature you have the ability to delete data marked for Purge without Archiving the data first - either by domain or for all domains. This feature requires a Change Request (CR) be submitted to enable this feature.

Improve DirLoadServlet Performance

This Optional Feature, when enabled, will improve the performance of updates through the DirLoadServlet.

Booking and Tendering

Spot Bid Tender Improvements

This feature provides several improvements to the Spot Bid Tender UI and process.  The email notification sent to your Service Providers for Spot Bid Tenders can now be configured so that the URL embedded in the email can be configured to link to the Spot Bid Manager, versus the default behavior, which links them back to the Online Booking/Tendering screen.  The Spot Bid Tender Response screen has been expanded to include additional information about the shipment's origin destination country, along with providing additional shipment quantity information.   The Ship Units grid has also been added to the Spot Bid Tender Response screen, providing information about ship unit level weights, volume, counts and commodities.   A new parameter has been added to support scenarios where your Spot Rated Spot Tender is declined/withdrawn. You will find all of these additions beneficial in supporting your Spot Bid Tendering processes. 

Ship Unit Count Added to Spot Bid Tender Screen

This feature adds the Ship Unit Count to the Ship Units section of the Spot Bid Tender screen.  This is in addition to the other Ship Unit information provided - Commodity ID, Commodity Name, Weight, Volume, Length, Width and Height.

Step Tender - Consider Service Provider Operational Hours

This feature extends the Step Tender functionality to allow for the consideration of the Service Provider's Operational Hours.  If a Step Tender involves tendering to a Service Provider outside of their operational working hours, this feature provides the option to set a wait time value that will provide an opportunity (beyond the Step Tender Time) for the Service Provider to respond. This feature also provides you with an option to skip the wait period if a percentage of the Step Tender Time (but not all) was provided to the Service Provider during their working hours. 

The benefit of this feature is that your low(er) cost Service Providers, who have limited operational hours, are now provided more opportunities to accept Step Tenders before higher cost Service Providers are added in subsequent steps.

Assign Document Sets - Agent Action

This feature provides you with the option of using an Agent Action to assign your Document Sets to the set of enabled objects.

Appointment Management

Dock Scheduling Improvements

This feature provides you with several Dock scheduling usability improvements.  The Dock Scheduling actions Schedule, Adjust Appointment and Reschedule now provide you with the scheduling results immediately after running the actions.  The action Remove Appointments has been added to the Shipment Stop object and several other usability enhancements have been provided. 

Order Management

Ship Unit Line User Defined Attributes Added

This feature extends the Ship Unit Line object to include the standard set of User Defined Attribute fields including - 20 Text fields, 10 Number fields, 10 Date fields. The additional fields are available for you to configure your screensets and manager layouts and are included in the related APIs.

Special Service ID Added to Order Release Finder

This feature extends the Finder fields for the Order Release to include the Special Service ID.  

Order Base Line Finder Result Package Item Description

This feature provides you with the option to add the Packaged Item Description to the Order Base Line Screen Set Finder Results.

Order Base Line Packing Action Enhancement

This feature provides a number of usability improvements for the Order Base Line Packing action.  Improvements include adding Package Item Description and Order Base and Order Base Line ID info to the Order Base Packing Lines Item grid as well as providing the Ship Unit Count, Tag fields and a new section to display User Defined Attributes on the Order Base Line Packing Detail UI.

In addition, a new Data Configuration Associate Type - Order Base to Order Release - provides you with the option of mapping the User Defined Attribute Fields from the Ship Unit Release Instruction to the Order Release Ship Unit.  

Order Release Screen Set - Stuffing Destuffing Location Information Added

This feature adds the Order Release Stuffing Location and Destuffing Location address information to the Order Release Screen Set.  

Mobile

Mobile Application Enhancements

This feature provides a list of new features and improvements to the new Mobile Application.  

The highlights include the following enhancements:

Unless specified as Service Provider Flow - features are supported by both flows - Driver and Service Provider.

Change Voyage Schedule Shipment Action

This feature provides you with a new Change Voyage Schedule shipment action that allows you to change your shipment's assigned voyage schedule.  The Change Voyage Schedule action supports either internally stored or externally provided voyage schedules.

Digital Freight Brokers

Digital Freight Rates - Consider for Planning & Tender or Tendering Only

This feature provides you with the option to consider your Digital Freight Rates (real-time pricing rates provided by Digital Freight Broker services) in Planning (Bulk Planning, RIQ) and in Tendering or to only consider your Digital Freight Rates/Digital Freight Broker real-time pricing in the Tendering process i.e., include the Digital Freight Broker service(s) after considering your Service Providers with contract rates. 

You will find this feature provides you with added controls for deciding when and how to include Digital Freight Broker services in your transportation planning and execution processing.

Data Staging for Digital Freight Broker Integration - Uber Freight

This feature provides various Staged Data and External Rating Engine Webservices changes that will reduce the time required to onboard the Digital Freight Broker service provided by Uber Freight.

Integration - REST Services & XML API

REST API Support for Commodity Power Data

This feature expands the REST service provided to include CRUD Operations support for the Commodity Power Data object. This change will provide you with the opportunity to bulk load your commodity records using REST.

REST Services Supported Custom Actions

This feature provides you with an additional set of REST service supported Custom Actions.  For this release, addition Custom Actions have been provided for Order Release, Shipment and Invoice.

REST Services Delete Order Release with Foreign Key

This feature supports the ability to delete an Order Release that is on a Shipment.  Previously, attempting to delete an Order Release on a Shipment would result in a foreign key error.

Send Integration Agent Action for Order Movement

This feature adds the Send Integration Agent Action to the Order Movement object.  You can use the Send Integration Agent Action to automate the process of sending Order Movement XML integrations.

Transportation Sourcing

Support for Unit Break Based Rating for Rate Record Template

This features adds support for Sourcing bids where the rates used for your rate record templates are base on Rate Unit Break Profiles.  The unit break based rates supported include rate breaks based on Shipment Total Weight and Shipment Total distance.  The addition of unit based rating greatly expands the opportunities for using Sourcing to run your rate bid projects.

Enable XLSX File Format in Sourcing Spreadsheets

This Optional Feature, when enabled, upgrades the spreadsheet format used for Sourcing to the XSLX format from the older XSL format.

Diagnostics

Saving Parameter Overrides for Bulk Plan

This optional feature, when enabled, provides a way to save the overrides in Planning Parameter Sets by bulk plan so that the specific overrides can be reviewed/understood after the plan has run.  This feature will help with solution analysis and support.

Shipment Planning

Disband Partially Planned Order Releases

This feature provide you with the ability to prevent your Bulk Plans, using Network Routing,  from resulting in partially planned Order Releases.  A partially planned Order Release can occur in scenarios where a leg in an Orders routing path does not have sufficient capacity to route the Order Release - in this case the Bulk Plan can leave the successfully planned Order Movements on their planned shipments - while leaving the one constrained Order Movement unplanned resulting in a Partially Planned Order Release i.e.., not all Order Movements on a shipment.

Bulk Planning Day - Start and End

This feature provides you with the option to specify when the shipments in your Bulk Plan should start/the earliest start time.  You will find this feature very useful in situations where your Bulk Plans are run in a standard pattern - like today for tomorrow or plan on Friday for Monday shipments.

Bulk Plan Primary Leg Only

This feature provides you with the option - for  Order Release planning and using Network Routing to run a Bulk Plan where OTM will generate all the Order Movements for your Order Release(s), but will only create the shipment(s) on the primary leg. 

Select Most Utilized Metric (Weight/Volume) for Resources

This feature provides a consistent view to the most utilized metric in situations where the two Logic Configuration Container Optimization Metrics for Volume and Weight are set to True and there is no cost difference to guide the most utilized selection.  

Multi-stop Logic - Favor Combined Inbound/Outbound Shipments with Delivery/Pickup Stops

This feature provides a way for you to favor the building of multi-stop shipments so that the multi-stop logic favors combining inbound (A -> B) and outbound (B -> A) shipments together where the stop B has both a pickup and delivery/PD stops.  The new capability and parameter build on previously released multi-stop parameters and capabilities.

Via Point Stops from Rate Record for Lookup Rate Service Added to Shipment

This feature provides you with the option, for your door-to-door scenarios, to have the VIA Locations (Source and Destination) defined on your rate record become additional stops on your shipment  - source-port of load, destination - port of discharge - allowing you to more clearly display the ports (Vial Locations) that the shipment must pass through using the selected rate record.

Ground Schedules

Detachable Ground Schedules - Service Provider Profile

This feature provides the option for you to define the Service Provider(s) for your Detachable Ground Schedules as a Service Provider Profile.  When a Detachable Ground Schedule is defined with a Service Provider Profile  the assignment of the Service Provider will be handled as part of the Release Ground Schedule instance process -  the lowest cost Service Provider in the Profile will be assigned.  Once assigned - for your Detachable Ground Schedules - the actions Change Service Provider and Choose Least Cost will only consider the Service Providers in the assigned Service Provider Profile that has been assigned to the Detachable Grounds Schedule.

Consider Available Ground Schedules in Planning

This feature enhances the Network Routing logic to consider all the available Ground Schedules. Previously, the Network Routing logic assumed the usage of the same Ground Schedule for the orders on a leg versus considering all the available Grounds schedules.

Capacity

Tactical Capacity

The focus of this feature is to allow for the definition of a daily capacity - Tactical Capacity - to support scenarios where a predictable recurring capacity definition is not practical.  With Tactical Capacity, you can define your service provider's capacity for a particular day based on their current situation and capacity availability.

Load Configuration 3D

Pattern Based Load Configuration - Allow the Stacking of Multiple Cylindrical Ship Units with Same Diameter

This feature provides support for the stacking of multiple cylindrical ship units - each having the same diameter - using the pattern based load configuration algorithm.  This new capability provides an improve utilization of available space when the option to stack cylindrical ship units is available.

Work Assignments

Work Assignment Consolidation - Column Generation Option

This feature provides you with a new algorithm option for performing your Work Assignment planning that will improve solution quality for problems where a heuristic based algorithm may yield sub-optimal results.  For example, problems that involve a variety of location and/or order time window constraints and where the available resources have calendars with a variety of start and end times along with a variety of possible duration times. With this complex problem, the new algorithm will improve the solution provided by looking to improve the number of shipments assigned to Work Assignments, as well as improving the utilization of the resources based on the time duration available.

Fleet Management

Driver Shift Honor Both Calendar Start and End Window

This feature extends the Driver Assignment Logic to consider  - during assignment - a check to ensure that the shipment being assigned falls within the Driver's Start and End Calendar window. Previously only the Start was checked.

Freight Payment, Billing, and Claims

Agent Action - Add to Consolidated Invoice or Bill

This feature provides you with a two Automation Agent Actions which provide you with the ability to automate the process of creating a Consolidated Invoice or Consolidate Bill or adding to an existing Consolidated Invoice or Consolidated Bill.  This feature provides a way to automate the creation of and additions to your Consolidated Invoices or Consolidated Bills.

Logistics Network Modeling

Work Assignment Gantt Available for Modeling Work Assignments

This feature provides you with the ability to configure the Work Assignment Gantt to display your Logistic Network Modeling generated Work Assignments. You will find this capability beneficial in reviewing the timeline and sequencing of your Logistics Network Modeling generated Work Assignments.
