Absence Management

Absence Management

Oracle Absence Management is a configurable and flexible global solution that enables organizations to manage absences of their workforce. The framework provides ability to define both complex and diverse absence plans. It integrates with the Oracle Cloud Global Payroll and Time and Labor products and provides dedicated work areas for the roles of Administrator and Employees. Simplified user interface is provided for employees’ absence data entry.

Autocomplete Rules for Childbirth and Placement Dates Business Object in Absence Management

Improve the user experience with the new delivered autocomplete rule, Default Planned End Date Based on Planned Start Date, to default the planned end date of a maternity, paternity, or adoption leave based on the planned start date of the absence. For example, you have defined a default absence duration of 364 days or 52 weeks in the autocomplete rule. When you enter a leave using the childbirth or placement pattern starting on May 2, 2022 for an employee with this rule, the planned end date will automatically be set to April 30, 2023 based on the defined autocomplete rule. The leave is defined as 364 days or 363 days from the planned start date.

Carryover Balance Consumption and Multiple Year Carryover for Accrual Plans

Get more flexible carryover options for both front loaded and incremental accrual plans, thus allowing employees longer periods of time to use unused carryover balances. At the end of a plan year, companies may allow employees to carry over their remaining balance into the next plan year. Often times that carryover is subject to expiration; meaning the employee must use the carried over balance before a certain date.  Accrual plans with no forfeiture limit on the amount that can be carried over can now extend beyond the 365 day/1 year expiration limit. There is no expiration limit imposed upon plans with no forfeiture limits. Carryover balances for each plan year are maintained separately for each plan term year.

Absence transactions such as absences, donations, transfers, disbursements, elective disbursements and rollovers will first consume balance from any unused, unexpired carryover, for all accrual plans with any carryover , multiyear or single year. The consumption of the carryover balances will be based on the expiration of the carryover sub balance, which means those balances expiring first will be consumed first. The Absence Balance page will now display the planned period end date for each plan year that contains a carryover sub balance along with the applicable expiration date of the carryover and the remaining carryover balance.

Increased Character Limit for Short Code in Calendar Events

Experience greater flexibility in configuring calendar events. The character limit of the Short Code field has now been raised from 8 to 48.

Audit Enabled for Accrual Tables

Make use of audit capabilities for absence transaction information such as plan enrollments and accrual calculations. You can use the audit function to get detailed information on tables that store accrual plan information.

Transactional Business Intelligence for Absence Management

Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence is a real time, self-service reporting solution offered to all Oracle Cloud application users to create ad hoc reports and analyze them for daily decision-making.  Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence provides human resources managers and specialists, business executives, and line managers the critical workforce information to analyze workforce costs, staffing, compensation, performance management, talent management, succession planning, and employee benefits.
