Absence Management

Absence Management

Oracle Absence Management is a configurable and flexible global solution that enables organizations to manage absences of their workforce. The framework provides ability to define both complex and diverse absence plans. It integrates with the Oracle Cloud Global Payroll and Time and Labor products and provides dedicated work areas for the roles of Administrator and Employees. Simplified user interface is provided for employees’ absence data entry.

Integration of Global Absences with External Applications

Get more options while using the absences end-point to fetch existing absences from Global Absences. You can now query absences for a specific person or query absences for employees belonging to a specific legal employer. You can also fetch all absences belonging to a specific absence type.

Hide or Show Save and Close Option in Add Absence Page

Choose whether to hide or show the Save and Close option in the Add Absence page according to your needs. Previously, the Save and Close option was displayed by default. You can now use HCM Transaction Design Studio to show only Submit and Cancel buttons instead.

Review Warning Message Before Withdrawing Accruals and Deleting Enrollments

Take advantage of the enhanced absence processing that now displays a warning message for reviewing the accrual and enrollment parameters before submitting the absence process for withdrawing accruals and deleting enrollments. This is to ensure that the process isn’t submitted with incorrect parameters, and thus, prevents important data from being lost.

Future Absence Processing Option for Same and Impacted Absence Types

Use a new configuration option called Future Absence Processing to improve absence processing performance for future dated absences. Using this option, you can choose to process all future absences for all types or process only future absences of the same absence type, and any impacted absences that are a part of the concurrent or shared plan.

Compensatory Absence Plan Updated After Time Card Approval

Take advantage of the improvements made to time card processing when calculating compensatory time earned on a time card. The compensatory time earned on the time card is now added to the compensatory time absence plan balance only after the time card is approved. If you submit a time card with earned compensatory time and a compensatory absence on the same time card, the absence consumes the compensatory time from previously approved time cards, and not the current time card.

Predefined Partial Period Proration and Rounding Rules for Accrual Plans

Simplify your accrual plan definitions by using predefined proration calculations for partial period accrual plan participation. Similarly, you can also use predefined rounding rules for accrual calculations.

Purge Old Unused Absence Processing Data

Purge old unused absence data that was created during absence processing and isn't required anymore. The purge will occur automatically during quarterly patching to ensure that the processing tables only hold data that is relevant for your pod.

Enhancements to the Events Framework for Absence Processing

Take advantage of the improvements made to the evaluation of event conditions and processing of absences. These two processes have been decoupled to improve the performance and reliability of the events framework.

Descriptive Flexfield Attributes For Configuring Approval Rules

Use descriptive flexfields (DFFs) attribute values to configure approval rules. These are now available in Absence Rule Payload. You can see these attributes under the Additional information section of the Add Absence page.

These pages or flows have been recreated in the Redwood tool set Visual Builder Studio (VBS) to improve your user experience. The pages or flows look and act like Redwood pages or flows, to help create cohesiveness through the application.
