Absence Management

Absence Management

Oracle Absence Management is a configurable and flexible global solution that enables organizations to manage absences of their workforce. The framework provides ability to define both complex and diverse absence plans. It integrates with the Oracle Cloud Global Payroll and Time and Labor products and provides dedicated work areas for the roles of Administrator and Employees. Simplified user interface is provided for employees’ absence data entry.

Absence Transaction Approval Date In BI Publisher

Reconcile absence approval issues easily with the availability of the absence transaction approval date in BI Publisher. When an absence is approved, absence data is transferred to Payroll. If the approval doesn't happen before the Payroll cutoff date, the employee won't be paid for that absence in that pay period. By capturing approval date, an administrator can investigate issues related to non-payments, and determine if approvals were the source of the non-payment.

Future Absence Processing Option For Same And Impacted Absence Types Entered On The Timecard

Experience the enhanced absence processing performance for future dated absences, that now considers absences entered on the timecard also. Use this option to decide whether to process future absences on the timecard for all types or process future absences of only the same absence type, and any impacted absences that are a part of the concurrent or shared plan.

Absence Approval Notifications Delivered Regardless Of Server Status

Eliminate orphan records for absence transactions with attachments that are still in awaiting approval status when the SOA server goes down. An absence notification is generated and sent to the manager or approver for approval, irrespective of the attachment module status. This eliminates the need for re-entering the absence.

Support For Rolling Backward Plan Term Type And Multiple Assignments

Improve support for multiple assignments on qualification plans where the plan term type of Rolling Backward is used for entitlement calculation.

Display Required Field For Attachments In Administrator Absence Records Page

Take advantage of the enhanced absence records page for administrators that now displays the required field icon when the attachments are mandatory for absence entry.

Automatic Accrual Recalculation With Enrollment End Date

Recalculate accruals automatically when a manual adjustment to the enrollment end date is performed.

Absence Planning for Managers

Empower line managers to review absences of all their direct reports efficiently using the new Absence Planning task. They can now quickly approve or reject absence, and review absence requests that are in conflict with absences of others on the team. They also have the option to review the absences in a timeline view that provides a visual representation of absence requests, aiding in better decision-making.

Provide Formula Execution Statistics

View detailed execution statistics of fast formulas including custom fast formulas in the Enterprise Scheduler (ESS) processes output file. This will help you review and address performance issues with custom fast formulas.

Enhanced Person Selection For Accrual Processing

Include future hires also in accrual processing using the enhanced Update Accrual Plan Enrollment process. When you run the Calculate Accruals and Balances process, the application calculates accruals for future periods automatically up to the last accrual run date for all employees active as of the effective date. Concurrently, it also calculates accruals for all future hires who fall within the accrual run date.

Payroll Interface "Update" Mode For Transfer To Pay

New customers beginning their implementation with this release can make use of the new update mode for the payroll interface process to avoid confusion caused by unnecessary net-zero retro pay transactions that are created every time an absence record is modified. Previously, when an absence record was modified, the application would delete all daily entries and recreate them. This needlessly complicated reconciliation and negatively affected the performance of payroll calculation. With the new update mode, the application replaces only the daily entries with modifications.
