  • Optional Monthly Maintenance Packs to each update

It is important for you to know what Release Update your environment is on. You can find this in your Cloud Portal.

Oracle HCM Cloud release documents are delivered in five functional groupings:

Suggested Reading for all HCM Products:

  • HCM Cloud Common Features (This document pertains to all HCM applications. It is the base human resource information for all products and HCM Tools.)
  • Global Human Resources Cloud (Global Human Resources contains the base application in which other application use for common data such as workforce structures and person information. Regardless of what products you have implemented you may want to see the new features for Global Human Resources that could impact your products.)

NOTE: Not all Global Human Resource features are available for the base Talent and Compensation stand alone applications.

Optional Reading for HCM Products (Depending on what products are in your cloud service):

  • Talent Management Cloud (All Talent applications)
  • Workforce Rewards Cloud (Compensation, Benefits, Payroll and Global Payroll Interface)
  • Workforce Management Cloud (Absence Management and Time and Labor)

Additional Optional Reading:

Application Security

Oracle Applications Security provides a single console where IT Security Managers and Administrators can perform various functions including user lifecycle management, role definition, security policy management(both functional and data), role hierarchy maintenance, username and password policy administration, and certificate management. The console also enables users to simulate the effect of security changes, to run security reports, and download a connector for integration with Microsoft Active Directory.

Secure Workflow Transactions Using Manage Data Roles and Security Profiles

Secure access to HCM transactions on the Transaction Console. In the Manage Data Roles and Security Profiles task flow, you can now select a transaction security profile to identify the transactions that users can manage. New duty roles secure user access to the Transaction Console itself.

Enhanced Custom Criteria Validation

Validate the syntax of custom criteria using the new Validate action when creating or editing person security profiles. Additional validations now highlight issues such as references to tables that include PII data and use of commands that may affect performance.

HCM Security

HCM Security includes enhancements to person security profiles, new-person task flows, role mappings, the Retrieve Latest LDAP Changes process, predefined job and abstract roles, and security setup.

Secure Person Records by Multiple Area of Responsibility Scope Values

Simplify the creation and management of person security profiles. You can now select from an expanded list of responsibility scope values when you secure access to person records by area of responsibility. This expanded list has 16 additional values, each of which combines 2 individual scope values, such as legal employer and department, to reduce the need to create custom criteria.

HCM Data Loader

HCM Data Loader provides a flexible and efficient method of bulk loading business object data for data-migration and on-going incremental updates to Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud.

Enhancements to External Bank Account

Extend bulk-loading capabilities with new attributes added to the External Bank Account object to support country-specific and other requirements:

  • AccountType
  • AlternateAccountName
  • CheckDigit
  • SecondaryAccountReference

In addition, the External Bank Account Owner component now supports third-party account owners with a ThirdPartyNumber attribute.

New Business Objects Supported

Extend your data loading capabilities with support for these additional objects:

  • Performance Documents and Goals Assignment Transfer
  • Payroll Time Period
  • Requisition
  • Person Public Message

In addition, you can now:

  • Delete Talent Review Meeting objects.
  • Create a Talent Review Meeting object with the MeetingSubmitStatusCode attribute set to Scheduled.
  • Specify who initiated an Allocated Checklist.

HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader

HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader provides a flexible and efficient method of bulk loading business object data for data-migration and on-going incremental updates to Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud.

Submit Spreadsheet Uploads as the Session User

Submit spreadsheet uploads as the session user. Spreadsheet templates can now be configured to upload data for unsecured objects as the signed-in user rather than as the elevated user.

HCM Common Features

This section covers features used across all HCM Applications.

Upload Your Photo From Your Public Profile

Quickly upload your own photo from your public info page. Your image now includes a camera icon that launches the upload photo tool allowing you to quickly upload your photo directly to your public profile. Alternately, you can still use the Upload Photo action from quick actions or the Actions menu to upload a new photo.

Redesigned User Experience

Increase user satisfaction with the redesigned pages that now have the same look and feel on desktop and mobile devices. These redesigned pages are both responsive and easy to use on any device, with a modern look and conversational language. Clutter-free pages, with clean lines and just the essential fields, can be personalized to suit.

The Self-Service Pages Redesigned below are all part of the Redesigned Cloud User Experience.

HCM Common

Enhanced HCM Experience Design Studio to Simplify Page Configurations

Configure pages easier by using the enhanced and renamed Transaction Design Studio available from the HCM Experience Design Studio, previously named HCM Page Configurator.

For many newly redesigned, mobile responsive pages and transactions, you can now create rules to control the:

  • Visibility setting of sections and attributes displayed in each section of the page.
  • Required setting for displayed attributes.

To display attributes delivered as hidden, you no longer have to first display them using Page Composer. You can simply change the visibility setting for hidden attributes from the Transaction Design Studio directly. In addition, for transactions that use the guided process design, you can now easily enable or disable the questionnaire page for any transaction.

Using the Transaction Design Studio, you can now also create validation rules to ensure data users enter while completing a transaction complies with your business rules. For example, you can create a rule to ensure that promotion effective dates are never more than 30 days in the past. When validation rules are violated, users are required to fix the data to proceed.

You can still modify the person spotlight and upload images for pages that use the HCM landing page design.

Mobile Responsive Deep Links

Use deep links to provide easy navigation directly to a page in the HCM Cloud application. Deep links can also be used for new mobile responsive pages on your intranet, a custom or third-party application, or in a document so employees can quickly access their HCM information or initiate transactions in HCM Cloud.

Search for All Actions Using HCM Global Search

Search for all actions available in to you in quick actions from the HCM global search, in addition to searching for people. Previously, only commonly used actions were available in the search. In addition, with the introduction of the new and improved person search, actions available to My Team and My Client Groups such as Promote or Transfer are no longer appended with the tab name. Regardless if you're acting as a line manager or HR professional, you will navigate to the same new and improved search page.

New and Improved Person Search

Search for people easily and consistently using the HCM global search, My Team, and My Client Groups quick actions. When you search for an action using the HCM global search, you navigate to a common search page to search for the person on whom you are initiating the action. If you have employees reporting to you, you see a list of your direct reports and quickly select a person and start an action. You can also search for other reports in your hierarchy or people in your client group. In addition, as HR specialist, you now have the option to use an advanced search to help you find the person to act on. The advanced search provides you additional parameters to search for terminated employees and future-dated hires.

HCM Extracts

Improved User Experience

Use the redesigned HCM Extracts pages, available from the Data Exchange work area, for an improved user experience. The redesigned responsive pages include the Submit Extracts, the View Extract Results, and the self-service pages, which are available on all devices.

Using the new mobile responsive pages, you can schedule an extract instance for processing and view and download the results from a mobile device.

Compensation

Enhanced Compensation Spotlight with Recurring and One-Time Payments

Show recurring and one-time payment details of the employee to the Line Manager with the enhanced Compensation Spotlight.

Streamline Salary Approval

Simplify the approval process on responsive salary pages by preventing new salary proposals when:

  • A salary change is pending approval
  • A line manager transaction that includes salary changes (such as promote) is pending approval

Global HR

Manage Eligible Jobs Redesigned

Use the simplified Manage Eligible Jobs flow that has the same look and feel on desktop and mobile devices. This redesigned flow is both responsive and easy to use, with a modern look and conversational language. Profiles

Enhanced Talent Profile Management

Check out the enhancements that have been made in Profile Management.

Profile Management’s presentation of the person profile and talent ratings has been enhanced to provide a more engaging and responsive interface design. The new user experience enables features to be presented on both mobile and web pages. The interfaces are simple, intuitive and are written in a more conversational language.

The Profile Management administration enhancements provide increased product performance and product extensibility. The enhanced solution introduces content templates that represent the talent content (for example, Competencies, Certificates, Skills, and Awards) required to support the requirements of the Oracle Talent Management Suite. Each content template includes unique attributes. These content templates can be used and reused to create the content sections necessary to capture talent data. The templates can be used to design both person and model talent profiles.

Profiles OTBI

Re-Architecture of Person Profile Real Time Subject Area

Improve your reporting on the Person Profile Real Time subject area with features from the new and enhanced architecture. These changes and new attributes will only be usable for Profile Management Responsive pages. To use these attributes you will need to have turned on the Profile Option for Profile Management. Those using the classic Profile Management pages will see these new attributes in the subject area and can even add them to the reporting, however the report will not pull the data, as the data entry is only available through the responsive pages.

With this enhancement some of the performance issues reported by customers have also been addressed. The subject area has been enhanced with additional attributes and a few of the existing attributes have been changed to source the data from different database columns. Also, the column names for a few attributes have been modified.

New Attribute - Competency Section Name in Performance Rating Real Time

Improve your reporting on performance document section in Performance Rating Real time subject area with the addition of the attribute Competencies Section Name. This attribute is held in Profile Management to allow a way to differentiate between multiple competency sections in a performance document.

Quick Actions Support for Succession and Talent Pools

Leverage the new Quick Actions to enable your managers and HR Specialists to easily perform the following tasks:

  • Create a succession plan
  • Add an employee as a member of a talent pool
  • Add an employee as a candidate to a succession plan

A new Quick Action has also been added to enable HR Specialists to easily create a talent pool.

Succession Actions Added to Career Overview

Enhance your user experience with the addition of succession-related actions in the Career Overview page. Managers can create a new succession plan for a worker, add a worker to an existing succession plan, and add a worker to a talent pool.

Resource Catalog Component Support for Succession and Talent Pool Pages

Leverage the ability to access the resource catalog to add components to the responsive Succession Plans, Talent Pools, and Succession Planning Spotlight pages. Enhance the usage of these pages by creating and sharing notes or embedding reports anywhere on these responsive pages.
