Overview

HCM Cloud applications have two types of patches you can receive that are documented in this New Feature Summary:

  • Release Updates (19A, 19B, 19C, and 19D)
  • Optional Monthly Maintenance Packs to each update

It is important for you to know what Release Update your environment is on. You can find this in your Cloud Portal.

Oracle HCM Cloud release documents are delivered in five functional groupings:

Suggested Reading for all HCM Products:

  • HCM Cloud Common Features (This document pertains to all HCM applications. It is the base human resource information for all products and HCM Tools.)
  • Global Human Resources Cloud (Global Human Resources contains the base application in which other application use for common data such as workforce structures and person information. Regardless of what products you have implemented you may want to see the new features for Global Human Resources that could impact your products.)

NOTE: Not all Global Human Resource features are available for the base Talent and Compensation stand alone applications.

Optional Reading for HCM Products (Depending on what products are in your cloud service):

  • Talent Management Cloud (All Talent applications)
  • Workforce Rewards Cloud (Compensation, Benefits, Payroll and Global Payroll Interface)
  • Workforce Management Cloud (Absence Management and Time and Labor)

Additional Optional Reading:

  • Common Technologies and User Experience (This documents the common features across all Cloud applications and is not specific to HCM)

NOTE: All of these documents can be found on the Oracle Help Center at: https://cloud.oracle.com/saasreadiness/hcm under Human Capital Management Release Readiness.

Applications Security

Oracle Applications Security provides a single console where IT Security Managers and Administrators can perform various functions including user lifecycle management, role definition, security policy management(both functional and data), role hierarchy maintenance, username and password policy administration, and certificate management. The console also enables users to simulate the effect of security changes, to run security reports, and download a connector for integration with Microsoft Active Directory.

Regenerating Data Security Profiles

Regenerate select types of HCM data security profiles in bulk, using the Regenerate Data Security Profiles process.  This process streamlines updating any of the supported security profile types, whereby all referenced security profile types will be regenerated, rather than regenerating them one at a time.  Supported security profile types include:

  • Person security profile
  • Legislative Data Group (LDG) security profiles
  • Organization security profiles
  • Position security profiles.

If a new feature requires this process, it will be described in the What's New release documentation.

User Preferred Time Zone Support in Role Delegation

Notice in the logged in user's preferred time zone setting is now supported when setting start or end date for role delegation to another user.

Email Validation in Users and Roles

Validate work email addresses on the Create User and Edit User pages to identify duplicate values. Enable this validation, which is optional, by setting the delivered PER_MANAGE_USERS_EMAIL_VALIDATION profile option.

HCM Data Loader

HCM Data Loader provides a flexible and efficient method of bulk loading business object data for data-migration and on-going incremental updates to Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud.

New Business Objects Supported

Extend your data loading capabilities with support for these objects:

  • Market Data Segments
  • Market Data Survey Composites
  • Exclusion Rule
  • HCM Group

In addition, these objects have been enhanced:

  • External Bank Account - You can now identify the primary account for expenses and update some attributes. The load of external bank account data is now multi-threaded.
  • Candidate  - You can now upload a candidate's preferred job family and location.
  • Candidate Pool - You can now load talent community details.
  • Person Security Profile - You can now specify an exclusion rule.
  • Goal - You can now upload target outcome profile items.

Enhanced Source Key Support

Reference foreign objects by their source system ID even if they have a different source system owner than the record being maintained.

New Payroll Business Objects Supported

Extend your data loading capabilities with support for these additional Payroll objects:

  • User-Defined Table
  • Balance Adjustment Header
  • Balance Adjustment Line
  • Object Group Inclusions and Exclusions

In addition, the following record types have been added to the Object Group hierarchy:

  • Object Group Inclusions and Exclusions
  • Object Group Parameter
  • Object Group Level Rules

The following costing objects are being replaced by new objects:

  • Cost Information, replaced by Costing Options
  • Cost Allocation
  • Cost Allocation Account

HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader

HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader provides a flexible and efficient method of bulk loading business object data for data-migration and on-going incremental updates to Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud.

Configure List of Values Filters

Define your own filters for lists of values. For example, if you create a spreadsheet template to create or update jobs, you can filter the Benchmark Job Code list of values by the jobs that are defined as active benchmark jobs in the same job set as the job being updated or created.

Enhancement to Manage Spreadsheet Templates

Identify at a glance if your existing spreadsheet templates are configured to upload data as the session user or the elevated user. You can also see if the template has been shared with other job roles.

Changes to the Number of Rows You Can Load

Supply 19,999 rows within a data set now when using HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader to bulk upload changes.

HCM Common Features

This section covers features used across all HCM Applications.

Disposal of Person Data from HCM Cloud

Manage disposal of person data to meet the data protection requirements of individuals and organizations. Define rule sets to handle the removal of HCM objects for a terminated employee that are no longer relevant. Submit a process to remove such data as needed.
