Supply Planning

Supply Planning

Override the Deliver-To Location on Planned Orders

Select the appropriate deliver-to location on a planned buy order or planned transfer order when you have multiple locations where a shipment may be received at the receiving inventory organization.

Create New Supplies Based on Earliest Date Constraint

Create new supplies for an item only after a specified date to address use cases such as a temporary product recall or replacement.

Use Downstream Replenishment Plans As Demand Schedules

Drive upstream operations based on replenishment orders generated at the point of consumption. This approach ensures seamless end-to-end planning of your entire supply chain.

Plan Counter Sales Orders

Plan for sales orders referred to as counter sales orders. Inventory to fulfill counter sales orders isn't picked and shipped, but instead is handed over immediately to the end customer from on-hand stock. You can now collect history of counter sales orders, generate forecasts for counter sales, and consume the forecasts with counter sales orders in the current time period while calculating net demand.

Release Recommendations for Purchase Orders That Don't Originate from Oracle Supply Planning

Release recommendations to Oracle Fusion Cloud Procurement for rescheduling or canceling purchase orders that didn't originate from Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Planning's buy recommendations. Prior to this update, such purchase orders couldn't be rescheduled or canceled.

Refresh Collected Measure Data

Update the subset of measures in a plan that are collected by file-based data import without having to run the plan. Use this capability to track sales history, preserve the current statistical forecast, and streamline measure data loading from other Oracle sources, such as Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Performance Management.

Configure Color by Measure to Display in Tiles

Use the Configure Color by Measure to Display in Graph feature for tiles too. Previously this feature was available only for graphs.

Attribute-Based Planning

Plan and analyze your supply chain using configured attributes specific to your business needs, such as country of origin. Forecast for demand qualified by these attributes. Configure attributes and attribute netting rules in a supply plan so that only qualified supply, based on attributes of inventory, purchase orders, transfer orders, or work order supplies, is used to satisfy demand. Generate planned orders for these attributes at any level of your supply chain.

After you opt in to the feature named Attribute-Based Planning, you can use the features in this section.

Create Attribute-Based Netting Rules with Valid Associations

Create attribute-based netting rules with validations applied that ensure that only the appropriate project groups, projects, or tasks are used for an attribute-based netting rule. The validations apply prior selections of project groups or projects in the rule sequence.

Display User-Defined Attributes on Orders

View and edit user-defined attributes in the Supplies and Demands table.

Project-Driven Supply Chain

Project-Driven Supply Chain is an end-to-end, integrated solution across the Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain Management and Oracle Fusion Cloud Project Management applications. This solution is designed to support various business processes of manufacturing and asset-intensive companies.

You can use the Project-Driven Supply Chain solution to manage your supply chain processes in the context of projects without creating separate organizations for each project. You can also capture supply chain costs as project expenditures.

NOTE: Review the Attribute-Based Planning section of this document for additional updates related to project-driven supply chain.

After you opt in to the feature named Project-Driven Supply Chain, you can use the feature described in this section.

Release Recommendations for Transfers of Project Supplies

Reduce excess inventory in your project supplies by releasing recommendations from a plan to change the project attribution on purchase orders, transfer orders, work orders, and on-hand inventory. Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Planning generates recommendations by recognizing excess supply and shortages in your enterprise's projects based on your rules.

Constraint-Based Planning

Create and run supply plans that consider material and capacity constraints. Focus on meeting demand on time by evaluating all possible alternatives, such as using different sources, substitute components, or alternative work definitions.

After you opt in to the feature named Constraint-Based Planning, you can use the feature described in this section.

Respect Organization-Specific Item Substitution Rules

Plan considering more granular substitution relationships where the relationship of which end item can substitute for another item can be for a specific organization. Previously item substitution rules weren't collected at the organization-specific level so were always applied globally.

Production Scheduling

Generate feasible factory schedules that maximize shop floor throughput and return on investment in resources and labor. You can calculate, manage, and monitor realistic schedules that the shop floor can execute on, while optimizing the usage of critical resources and meeting customer demand on time as best as possible.

After you opt in to the feature named Production Scheduling, you can use the features in this section.

Analyze the Impact of Raw Material Constraints on Schedules

Review on-hand inventory, purchase orders, and inbound transfer orders for your items and analyze their impact on the production schedule.

Respect Hold-Until Dates on On-Hand Lots in Production Scheduling

Respect the hold-until date on an inventory lot that can't be used immediately for various business reasons, such as quarantine or aging processes. Oracle Fusion Cloud Production Scheduling will consider the supply available to satisfy downstream demand only after the hold-until date.

Order Backlog Management

Reschedule your order backlog by prioritizing orders based on flexible demand priority rules. You can simulate the effect of different rules to find the best combination of scheduled dates and sources based upon the latest supply information, and release the updated orders to order management systems for execution.

After you opt in to the feature named Order Backlog Management, you can use the features described in this section.

Control the Range of Shipment History to Include in Allocations

Include a configurable range of historical shipments in the calculation of future remaining allocation quantities if you allocate scarce supply proportionally. You can use this new control to allocate supply more equitably within the first allocation bucket.

Limit the Time Horizon of Backlog Management Plans

Set the maximum future days of sales order demand to include in a backlog management plan to reduce the cycle time of rescheduling simulations.

Prevent Rescheduling of Order Lines Submitted for Picking

Filter sales order lines that have already been shipped from backlog management plans to prevent release of rescheduling recommendations for order lines that have already been picked. Doing so will prevent rescheduling of orders that have already entered the delivery execution process.

Respect Reservations in Supply Allocation

Consider and respect inventory reservations when calculating the remaining quantity in an allocation bucket to avoid overconsumption of supply.

Run a Backlog Management Plan for a Group of Organizations

Specify a subset of organizations when you run a backlog management plan to tailor the scope of the plan to a region or business unit, rescheduling interval, or other management criteria.
