Subscription Management

Subscription Management

New Validations for Milestone-Based Billing and Coverage

You can now check whether a coverage template has been associated with a coverage service product line before activating a subscription. In addition, when using milestone-based billing, if you delete the milestones and generate bill lines, you won't be able to activate the subscription, because a new validation checks whether you have created bill lines for the charge.

Manage Subscription Invoices

You can now use the Invoice Workbench to complete invoices. You can query for invoice transactions based on a variety of search criteria. Based on privileges you can complete the invoice or reverse an incomplete transaction in Oracle Accounts Receivable. You have complete control over the bill line amount that goes into the customer invoice. This way you can preempt invoice disputes by correcting invoice amounts before they're completed and sent to the customer.

Rate Usage with Events

Enable rating of usage events with different pricing models. Usage events can be priced following a per unit price, tiered price, or a pricing matrix. You can capture multiple usage events from any mediation system into Subscription Management for rating and billing, and process them. These usage events are the events that were either previously rated using an external billing system, or events that are rated and billed in Subscription Management.

Manage Allowances for Consumption based Subscription Models

Balance Management feature allows the tracking of quantity-based allowances and usages in a balance register. Users have the flexibility to configure balance codes and associate a condition to decide what usage events or allowances are considered while tracking the given balance. They can configure balance profiles to define the rule for pooling of allowances and usages, and to track all the related balances in a balance register. Allowances are tracked with effectivity dates and can optionally add a rollover period to extend the validity of allowances. During the usage rating process, it will draw-down the allowances from the respective balance register, and rate the excess usage quantity to determine the usage charge for that event.

Sell Subscriptions from Order Management

You can now sell and fulfill subscriptions from Order Management Cloud. The order is priced in an upstream application and a subscription is created upon fulfillment of the sales order. The subscription is billed from Subscription Management. Both subscriptions and coverage services can be sold from Order Management. Amendment and termination of subscription performed in an upstream application is passed to Order Management and then interfaced to Subscription Management. You can bill your customer one-time charges, recurring charges and usage charges for these subscriptions sold from Order Management. You can use the charges model or a rate plan model for pricing the subscription.

Manage Revenue of Subscriptions Fulfilled from Order Management

You can now sell and fulfill subscriptions from Order Management Cloud and manage the revenue through the lifecycle of the subscription. You now get one revenue contract in Revenue Management Cloud which is created by Order Management and managed by Subscription Management throughout the lifecycle of the subscription. Subscription Management will revise the revenue contract when amendments and terminations of the subscription are invoked from Order Management.

Send Primary Salesperson to Oracle Account Receivables

You can now send the primary salesperson information to Oracle Accounts Receivables.
