Oracle Absence Management is a configurable and flexible global solution that enables organizations to manage absences of their workforce. The framework provides ability to define both complex and diverse absence plans. It integrates with the Oracle Cloud Global Payroll and Time and Labor products and provides dedicated work areas for the roles of Administrator and Employees. Simplified user interface is provided for employees’ absence data entry.
Option to Enter and Display Absence Balances and Durations in Hours and Minutes
Enter and view absence balances and durations in hours and minutes with the unit of measure of Hours. For example, an absence of 8 hours and 30 minutes can be entered as 8:30 and will be displayed as 8h 30m. An absence balance which was previously shown as 8.500 hours in decimals can now be displayed as 8h 30m using the new Hours Display Format configuration. Once this new configuration is defined, all absence balances and durations will be entered and shown in the Hours and Minutes format.
Use Schedule Hierarchy Start Point and Duration Fast Formula on the Same Absence Type
Set a schedule hierarchy start point and a duration fast formula on the same absence type. This means that when employees enter an absence using this type, you have full control over how schedule defaulting occurs and still use a duration formula to override the absence duration to meet your specific business needs.
Make Primary Field Required While Assigning Work Schedules to Employees
Use personalization to make the primary field required in the work schedule assignments page, and prevent errors such as schedule calculations being sent incorrectly to Payroll and Time Cards due to the primary flag not being set.
Reduce Administrative Overhead When Hire Dates Are Changed
Manage changes in hire dates with ease. We’ve added automated processing to adjust plan enrollments, roll back any accruals and balances, withdraw any absence records and plan transactions that become invalid because of the hire date change.
Re-Evaluate Open-Ended Absences for Schedule Changes
Try, if you are using open-ended absences with Hours or Days UOM, you can now tell the Evaluate Absences ESS job to re-evaluate open-ended absences to consider schedule changes, like adding a work schedule exception, and ensuring that you are paying the employee for the absence hours calculated based on the latest schedule information.
Moreover, Evaluate Absences ESS job now re-evaluates all absences that are on-going as of the specified effective date, in addition to absences that start on or after the effective date. This ensures that the Evaluate Absences ESS job does not miss re-evaluating any absence that maybe affected by a schedule change on or after the effective date.
Absence Redesigned User Experience
Increase user satisfaction with the redesigned pages that now have the same look and feel on desktop and mobile devices. These redesigned pages are both responsive and easy to use on any device, with a modern look and conversational language. Clutter-free pages, with clean lines and just the essential fields, can be personalized to suit.
Approval Notifications with Preview in the Responsive Worklist
Approve absence requests quicker by getting a preview of key absence information in the responsive worklist such as, absence duration, reason, comments, block leave status, business title, department, location and person number.
Oracle Time and Labor is a comprehensive, easy to use, rule-based time recording and management application. The calendar-based time entry interface and fully configurable time card layout easily address simple and complex time recording needs. Rule templates and the real-time rules engine provide an extensible and robust method to validate time entries and automatically apply pay rules, such as overtime calculations. Time and Labor now integrates completely with the following Oracle Cloud Human Capital Management applications: Global Human Resources, Absence Management, Global Payroll, and Project Costing. This integration insures accurate and consistent data for payroll processing and costing as well as project management billing.
Direct Addition of Group Members Introduction
Let managers directly add members to a new manually maintained group type. This group type currently works for only the two delivered audit and exclude member groups. You use the audit group to generate reports for a specified list of workers. You use the exclusion group to temporarily turn off approval reminders for workers.
Filtered List of Locations for Payroll Tax Overrides Introduction
Enable the use of a filtered choice list for location overrides on time entries that transfer to Oracle Fusion Global Payroll. The values are configured in Global Payroll and make up a filtered list of state and city-county values.
Handling Time Entries that Cross Midnight Enhancements
Edit all time entries on the classic Time Entries and Resolve All Exceptions by Worker pages, now even entries that cross midnight. A new indicator at the time-entry level makes it easy for you to identify these entries.
Hour Quantities, Durations, and Totals Display Enhancements
Enter quantities measured in hours as Hours and Minutes instead of as a percentage of an hour. For example, currently you enter 8 hours and 30 minutes as 8.5. When you use this new option, you can enter 8:30. This option also shows read-only duration and totals as Hours and Minutes, for example 8h 30m, on Oracle Fusion Time and Labor pages.
Exception Handling for Classic Time Cards that Are in Error
Apply changes to classic time cards generated from device events that are incomplete or in error, all on the same edit page. Applying changes saves your edits and runs all time rules, including time device rules. After any errors are fixed, you can submit the time card for approval in a separate flow.
Time and Labor Redesigned User Experience
Increase user satisfaction with the redesigned pages that now have the same look and feel on desktop and mobile devices. These redesigned pages are both responsive and easy to use on any device, with a modern look and conversational language. Clutter-free pages, with clean lines and just the essential fields, can be personalized to suit.
Worker Approval Task Introduction
Send employees approval notifications that let them approve or reject their time card. The approval or reject is acceptance or repudiation of the time card data. It doesn't affect the time card status or processing. The new worker approval task is separate from the existing manager approval task.
Web Clock Enhancements for Daily Time Events Display
Let workers view the time events for previous days, on Web Clock.
Time Change Requests Enhancements
Let line managers identify the requested changes to time that was already transferred.
Time Attribute Enhancements for Out and In Events and Start and End Properties
Set default time attribute values for Out and In device event pairs when you configure web clock buttons or time device event mappings. You can import different attribute values on the Out and In facets of paired device events with the Time Events REST API. Also, define the start and end of shifts and meals on Web Clock and time cards using delivered start and end property time attributes.
Notifications for Pending Attestations
Send an automatic notification to workers who have time cards with attestations that they need to review and submit their attestations before their time cards can be submitted for approval.
Intersection of Shifts and Absences Introduction
View work shifts that overlap with an absence shift, on both the classic and responsive schedule pages. The scheduled hours calculation takes into account only the work shifts, not the absence shift. Managers can edit these overlapping work shifts on the team schedule and planned schedule pages. Administrators can also load edits using HCM Data Loader and REST services. Finally, new database items (DBIs) let you create fast formulas to return work shifts and overlapping absences.
Approval Notification for Time Cards Redesigned Self-Service Pages Introduction
Approve a time card from the new Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher approval notification.
Print Time Card for Time Cards Redesigned Self-Service Pages Introduction
Print out the saved time card when you need a physical version, for example, per contract agreements with a billable client. Only the data that is saved is printed. If you make changes to the time card but don't save them before printing, the printed time card won't include the changes.
Monthly Time Cards Introduction
Let managers and employee manage and approve monthly responsive time cards.
Time Cards for Redesigned Self-Service Pages Enhancements
Let time and labor managers use responsive pages to manage time cards. Also, time card views were improved. They include a new calculated summary view and grouping by specified time attributes.
Filter Values for Time Card Field Choice Lists for Redesigned Time Card and Web Clock Pages
Filter the choice list values of a multi-attribute time card field on responsive time card and web clock pages by HCM group eligibility, user role, and effective dates so that people see only the values that apply to them.
Team Schedule for Time and Labor Manager Redesigned Self-Service Pages Introduction
Manage your team schedules using redesigned pages. You use the responsive Team Schedule page under My Client Groups to manage schedules for groups. You use the responsive Team Schedule page under My Teams to manage the schedules for your team and delegated reports.
Published Schedule Change History for Redesigned Team Schedule Introduction
Track changes applied to employee published schedules. Employees can then see their own change history. And, line managers and time and labor managers can see the change history for their team schedules. Depending on the worker time entry profile configuration, managers can see the history of published schedule changes for some employees on only the responsive team schedule pages.
HCM Transaction Design Studio for Time and Labor Enhancement
Configure time cards and team schedules to show the frequently used fields and to hide infrequently used fields. Actions on the Team Time Cards page and Time Card Comment section that apply to multiple time cards at once can be hidden with Transaction Design Studio.
