  • Global Human Resources Cloud (Global Human Resources contains the base application in which other application use for common data such as workforce structures and person information. Regardless of what products you have implemented you may want to see the new features for Global Human Resources that could impact your products.)

NOTE: Not all Global Human Resource features are available for the base Talent and Compensation stand alone applications.

Optional Reading for HCM Products (Depending on what products are in your cloud service):

  • Talent Management Cloud (All Talent applications)
  • Workforce Rewards Cloud (Compensation, Benefits, Payroll and Global Payroll Interface)
  • Workforce Management Cloud (Absence Management and Time and Labor)

Additional Optional Reading:

Leave Management

Absence Management

Oracle Absence Management is a configurable and flexible global solution that enables organizations to manage absences of their workforce. The framework provides ability to define both complex and diverse absence plans. It integrates with the Oracle Cloud Global Payroll and Time and Labor products and provides dedicated work areas for the roles of Administrator and Employees. Simplified user interface is provided for employees’ absence data entry.

New Quick Action Links for Absence Administrators

Take advantage of the enhanced Absences landing page for the administrator by using the two new quick actions. The two new quick actions are Absence Records and Work Schedule Assignments. Use the Absence Records link to search for employees and land on their Absence Records page. Use the Work Schedule Assignments link to search for employees and land on the Schedule Assignments page.

Automation of Accrual Plan Enrollment and Plan Balance Copy During Local and Global Transfers

Take advantage of the enhanced automation of accrual plan enrollment and plan balance copy during a Local or Global employee transfer. The automation will be delivered as a phased approach across releases. If you as an employee are eligible for the same plan in the new entity when transferred, all your active absence plans in the old organization will be end dated. Your enrollment into the same plan will be automated in the new entity and the initial plan balance will be re-instated. Currently, this automation is available for front loaded and incremental accrual plans with carryover options enabled. Copying of plan balance for accrual plans with vesting, waiting period and rollover options is not included in this release.

Success and Failure Messaging Support for Local and Global Transfers

View absence related success and failure messages following an employee’s local or global transfer. As an administrator or manager, you can now see messages that indicate a success or a failure for the absence entities affected by the transfer. Specifically, you can see messages about plans and enrollments that were end dated, future/scheduled absences and transactions that were withdrawn, and open-ended/in-progress absences that were end dated. You can also see messages that indicate whether appropriate enrollments were initiated and balances were copied in the new entity for front loaded and incremental accrual plans.

New Balance Calculation Date Option

Set the default balance calculation date to the last calculated date or current date using the new configuration. You can change the default calculation option on the Absence Balance page to view balances based on different calculation dates. The plan balance calculation date appears on the basis of what you defined during configuration in both the absence type balance display on the Add Absence page and the Absence Balance page.

View the Assignment to Which a Plan Enrollment Belongs

Take advantage of the improved user-experience to view plan balances of employees with multiple assignments. If they have the same absence plan enrolled to multiple assignments, they can view the individual assignment name tagged to each plan balance. This helps employees in differentiating between multiple enrollments of the same plan.

Decimal Place Configuration for Absence Duration and Plan Balances

Configure the number of decimal places that you want the employees to see for all absence balances and duration. You can choose to either always display a specific number of decimal places or display up to a specific number of decimal places.

The default number format has been changed to now show a maximum of two decimal places.

Maximum Duration Limit for Absence Records

Set a default maximum limit for absence duration while recording absences. This is to prevent people from recording very long absences accidentally. Administrators can change this limit if they want employees to record an absence of a duration exceeding the limit.

Absence Replaced or Removed Features

From time to time, Oracle replaces existing features with new features, or removes existing features.

Replaced features may be put on a path of removal, the features below will let you know what update you will have to have moved to the newer feature. As a best practice, you should move to the newer feature as soon as possible for full support and to stay up with the latest updates that the product offers.

Any feature that is removed, will have an Update in which that feature is no longer available. Please make necessary plans to move off the feature by the Update indicated, as it will no longer be available.

Self-Service Classic and FUSE Pages To Be Removed in 20D

Employees and managers can manage absences and plan balances only through the responsive user-interface pages. The Classic self-service and FUSE pages will be deprecated in 20D and self-service users will no longer be able to access these pages starting 20D. The responsive profiles will not be relevant for absences as the users will be automatically redirected to the responsive pages.

Override Payment Percentage Action Has Been Removed

Take Note that the Override Payment Percentage action is no longer available. Use the absence certifications functionality if you want to override the calculated qualification bands.

Time and Labor Management

Time and Labor

Oracle Time and Labor is a comprehensive, easy to use, rule-based time recording and management application. The calendar-based time entry interface and fully configurable time card layout easily address simple and complex time recording needs. Rule templates and the real-time rules engine provide an extensible and robust method to validate time entries and automatically apply pay rules, such as overtime calculations. Time and Labor now integrates completely with the following Oracle Cloud Human Capital Management applications: Global Human Resources, Absence Management, Global Payroll, and Project Costing. This integration insures accurate and consistent data for payroll processing and costing as well as project management billing.

Reported Hours for Absence Accrual Calculations Enhancements

Override work location absence accruals using the filtered list of state and city-county values delivered in release 20A. For example, your regular work location is Redwood City in San Mateo county. You select California, San Francisco, San Francisco county as there location override to use in absence accruals and also transfer to payroll.

Unapproved Time Card Transfer Enhancement

Update the status on unapproved time cards so that payroll administrators can transfer unapproved time entries. As a time and labor administrator, you can run the Prepare Unapproved Time Entries for Payroll Transfer process to make the updates. The process now lets you select from and to dates for time card periods and gives you enhanced processing logs. It also lets you optionally select the time card period where before you had to select it.

Time and Labor Redesigned User Experience

Increase user satisfaction with the redesigned pages that now have the same look and feel on desktop and mobile devices. These redesigned pages are both responsive and easy to use on any device, with a modern look and conversational language. Clutter-free pages, with clean lines and just the essential fields, can be personalized to suit.

HCM Experience Design Studio for Time and Labor

Configure time cards and team schedules to show the frequently used fields and hide infrequently used fields. You can hide actions on the Team Time Cards page and in the Time Card Comment section that apply to multiple time cards using HCM Experience Design Studio.

Print Time Card for Time Cards Redesigned Self-Service Pages Enhancements

Print a time card from the list of time cards when you need a PDF version, for example, per contract agreements with a billable client.

Weekly Team Schedule Redesigned Self-Service Pages Introduction

View a whole week of your team schedule on devices with larger screens. View your team schedule day-by-day on devices with small screens.

View Calculated Time in Incomplete and In Error Time Cards

Review time totals, including calculated times, on incomplete and in error time cards. People can either review the time that was already transferred to payroll or get projected calculated times. For example, a person checks that their overtime was correctly calculated for their reported hours, even though their work week isn't over yet.

Override Costs on Time Card Redesigned Self-Service Pages Based on Payroll Cost Validation

Enable payroll validation for cost overrides on time entries, ensuring that only valid costs for the person are entered.

Work Day Definition Enhancements

Calculate the earned day for time entries that cross midnight using the person's schedule and their grouping threshold with their start day rule. Also, ensure that people report their time on the time card with the time card period that contains the earned date. And, allow people to override the earned date on their time cards when the configured start day spanning rule doesn’t apply to the situation.
