The framework provides ability to define both complex and diverse absence plans. It integrates with the Oracle Cloud Global Payroll and Time and Labor products and provides dedicated work areas for the roles of Administrator and Employees. Two New Child Resources Added to the PlanBalances REST

Get detailed information or a summary of the transactions that impact the plan balance using the planBalances resource. The PlanBalanceDetails child resource provides details of all transactions that impact plan balance. The PlanBalanceSummary child resource summarizes this info at the transaction type level.

New Client LOVs for Absence Type and Business Title

Experience faster performance with the new responsive Client-Side List of Values (LOV) for absence type and business title that replace the older drop-down lists. The new lists are powered by two new REST services: AbsenceTypesLOV and AbsenceBusinessTitlesLOV. These mobile responsive lists offer type-ahead capability.

Tighter Rules for the Sale of Accrued Balances

Exercise more control over the sale of accrued balances with the introduction of new rules. If you configure a sale to take place on the employment anniversary and the target accrual plan's term is a calendar year, the sale will be processed only on the employment anniversary that occurs after the beginning of the target plan’s new term. For example, if an employee's employment anniversary is November 30, 2020 and the plan term's start date is January 1, 2021, the sale will not be evaluated until November 29, 2021. There is no change to the benefits processing of elections.

Automatic Compensatory Plan Enrollment and Plan Balance Copy During Local and Global Individual and Mass Transfers

Benefit from enhanced automation of local and global transfers. When an employee is transferred, all active compensatory plans are automatically end dated in the old organization, and new enrollments made (if eligible), in the new entity. The compensatory plan balance and any configured expiration details are automatically copied into the new entity. This feature is part of the phased delivery of global and local transfer automation across multiple releases.

Automatic Donation Plan Enrollment and Plan Balance Copy During Local and Global Individual and Mass Transfers

Benefit from enhanced automation of local and global transfers. When an employee is transferred, all active donation plans are automatically end dated in the old organization, and new enrollments made (if eligible), in the new entity. The donation plan balance is automatically copied into the new entity. This feature is part of the phased delivery of global and local transfer automation across multiple releases.

Absence Entry Updates in Workforce Management

Ensure the integrity of data between Absence Management and Time and Labor with new edit restrictions. For saved absence entries, the assignment and absence management type attributes can no longer be modified. Also, absence entries can no longer be submitted on time change requests. You can make changes to absence entries by deleting them and reentering them on your time card or using the Existing Absences task.

Multiple Assignments

Prevent Absences from Impacting Multiple Assignments

Allow only one assignment per absence for employees with multiple assignments using the new absence type configuration option. If you select this option for an absence type, you will need to select an assignment when entering an absence for employees with multiple assignments. Only the selected assignment will be impacted by the absence.

If you have configured an absence type to require assignment selection and want the absence to apply to all assignments, you need to create multiple absences, one for each assignment. When an absence impacting multiple assignments is reported on the time-card using this absence type, a separate absence is created for each assignment.

Enhanced Absence Security for Workers with Multiple Assignments

Use the new assignment-level security option to control whether the managers and administrators can access all assignments of the employees they manage or only specific assignments that they are authorized to access. Disbursements, donations and work schedule assignment pages use this control to show only the information that the manager or administrator is authorized to see. Also, if assignment-level security is enabled, an employee’s absence created for a specific assignment will be visible to only the manager and administrator who have access to that particular assignment. Absences created for all assignments will be visible to all the managers and administrators who have access to the employee.

Mandatory Assignment Selection for All Advanced Absence Entries

Eliminate ambiguity while calculating absence duration with new absence entry restriction. Selecting a specific assignment from the assignment field is now mandatory while entering absences using the advanced entry mode.

An absence can be submitted only when all the advanced entry rows have a specific assignment selected. If an employee has only one active assignment on the absence entry date, the assignment will be selected by default.

Route Work Schedule Assignment Approvals to the Appropriate Manager

Take advantage of the enhanced work schedule assignment approval rules. When you assign a work schedule to one of the assignments of the employee with multiple assignments, you can choose to route the approval request to either the primary assignment manager, or to the relevant assignment’s manager.

Time and Labor Management

Time and Labor

Oracle Time and Labor is a comprehensive, easy to use, rule-based time recording and management application. The calendar-based time entry interface and fully configurable time card layout easily address simple and complex time recording needs. Rule templates and the real-time rules engine provide an extensible and robust method to validate time entries and automatically apply pay rules, such as overtime calculations. Time and Labor now integrates completely with the following Oracle Cloud Human Capital Management applications: Global Human Resources, Absence Management, Global Payroll, and Project Costing. This integration insures accurate and consistent data for payroll processing and costing as well as project management billing.

Time Change Audit Enhancements

Enable people to request time changes with an audit reason. Managers see the reason on the change request approval and on the team change requests. When they're approving a request, the reason for the change appears in the time card change audit history.

Now the list of values for change audit reasons show only reasons from your organization. They don't include the bundled reasons. Only entries edited by processes use the bundled reasons.
