  • Optional Monthly Maintenance Packs to each update

It is important for you to know what Release Update your environment is on. You can find this in your Cloud Portal.

Oracle HCM Cloud release documents are delivered in five functional groupings:

  • HCM Cloud Common Features (This document pertains to all HCM applications. It is the base human resource information for all products and HCM Tools.)
  • Global Human Resources Cloud (Global Human Resources contains the base application in which other application use for common data such as workforce structures and person information. Regardless of what products you have implemented you may want to see the new features for Global Human Resources that could impact your products.)

NOTE: Not all Global Human Resource features are available for the base Talent and Compensation stand alone applications.

Optional Reading for HCM Products (Depending on what products are in your cloud service):

  • Talent Management Cloud (All Talent applications)
  • Workforce Rewards Cloud (Compensation, Benefits, Payroll and Global Payroll Interface)
  • Workforce Management Cloud (Absence Management and Time and Labor)

Additional Optional Reading:

  • Common Technologies and User Experience (This documents the common features across all Cloud applications and is not specific to HCM)

Leave Management

Absence Management

Oracle Absence Management is a configurable and flexible global solution that enables organizations to manage absences of their workforce. The framework provides ability to define both complex and diverse absence plans. It integrates with the Oracle Cloud Global Payroll and Time and Labor products and provides dedicated work areas for the roles of Administrator and Employees. Simplified user interface is provided for employees’ absence data entry.

New REST LOVs for Absence Reasons and Absence Plans

Take advantage of two new REST List of Values (LOV) for absence reasons and absence plans. The AbsenceTypeReasonsLOV lists all absence reasons that can be referenced on a given absence type, and the absencePlansLOV lists all absence plans.

Automatic Copy of Work Schedule Assignments During Local and Global Transfer

Complete your local and global transfers more quickly with the new automation enhancements to work schedules. When an employee is transferred, all work schedules and work schedule exceptions are automatically end dated in the old organization. The employee will be linked to the same work schedules and work schedule exceptions if they are available in the new entity.

As part of the HR Global Transfer process, managers and HR specialists can review the work schedules that will be end dated as part of the transfer process. The Change Legal Employer Dashboard now displays relevant messages to let you know if the process to end date and copy work schedule was successful.

Streamlined Display of Qualified Entitlement Summary

Experience a more streamlined display of qualified entitlements using the enhanced administrative page. Previously, columns were based on database fields. The new columns provide a more functional display. Customers can restore the old columns and hide the new ones according to their preference.

Absences Replaced or Removed Features

From time to time, Oracle replaces existing features with new features, or removes existing features.

Replaced features may be put on a path of removal, the features below will let you know what update you will have to have moved to the newer feature. As a best practice, you should move to the newer feature as soon as possible for full support and to stay up with the latest updates that the product offers.

Any feature that is removed, will have an Update in which that feature is no longer available. Please make necessary plans to move off the feature by the Update indicated, as it will no longer be available.

Removal of Work Day Definition Rules

Know that these earned days spanning rules were removed as of Update 21B:

  • Day with most hours
  • Scheduled shift reference day.

Time and Labor Management

Time and Labor

Oracle Time and Labor is a comprehensive, easy to use, rule-based time recording and management application. The calendar-based time entry interface and fully configurable time card layout easily address simple and complex time recording needs. Rule templates and the real-time rules engine provide an extensible and robust method to validate time entries and automatically apply pay rules, such as overtime calculations. Time and Labor now integrates completely with the following Oracle Cloud Human Capital Management applications: Global Human Resources, Absence Management, Global Payroll, and Project Costing. This integration insures accurate and consistent data for payroll processing and costing as well as project management billing.

Automatic Addition of Public Holidays on Time Cards Introduction

Add automatically public holiday entries to time cards using the person's scheduled hours. Also, because public holidays are unique, the holiday entry is excluded when someone copies a time card with a holiday entry. This public holiday functionality applies to both classic and responsive time cards.

Classic Time Card Header Improvements

Let individuals and managers view more time entries on classic time cards by opening the time cards with the individual and time card details collapsed. They can expand the details as needed.

Copy Time Card Enhancements

Copy relevant data from specified time cards with improvements that exclude absence and public holiday entries because they're unique to a time card period.  For example, New Year's Day occurs on only 1 day of the year, so you don't want to copy it to a future time card.

Extract Time Card Enhancements

Enable administrators to configure extract definitions for time cards to include previous values and the time consumer. And, they can now submit the time card extract for all time consumers as well as for a specific time consumer.

Time and Labor Replaced or Removed Features

From time to time, Oracle replaces existing features with new features, or removes existing features.

Replaced features may be put on a path of removal, the features below will let you know what update you will have to have moved to the newer feature. As a best practice, you should move to the newer feature as soon as possible for full support and to stay up with the latest updates that the product offers.

Any feature that is removed, will have an Update in which that feature is no longer available. Please make necessary plans to move off the feature by the Update indicated, as it will no longer be available.

Removal of Work Day Definition Rules and Enhancement of the Start Day Rule

Know that these earned days spanning rules were removed as of Update 21B:

  • Day with most hours
  • Scheduled shift reference day.

Also, the start day rule was improved for people who have a 24-hour schedule that helps determine the earned day if they report to work late. The rule now determines the earned day using the time entry start time rather than the schedule start time.
