Feature Summary

Column Definitions:

Report = New or modified, Oracle-delivered, ready to run reports.

UI or Process-Based: Small Scale = These UI or process-based features are typically comprised of minor field, validation, or program changes. Therefore, the potential impact to users is minimal.

UI or Process-Based: Larger Scale* = These UI or process-based features have more complex designs. Therefore, the potential impact to users is higher.

Features Delivered Disabled = Action is needed BEFORE these features can be used by END USERS. These features are delivered disabled and you choose if and when to enable them. For example, a) new or expanded BI subject areas need to first be incorporated into reports, b) Integration is required to utilize new web services, or c) features must be assigned to user roles before they can be accessed.

Ready for Use by End Users
(Feature Delivered Enabled)

Reports plus Small Scale UI or Process-Based new features will have minimal user impact after an update. Therefore, customer acceptance testing should focus on the Larger Scale UI or Process-Based* new features.

Customer Must Take Action before Use by End Users
(Feature Delivered Disabled)

Not disruptive as action is required to make these features ready to use. As you selectively choose to leverage, you set your test and roll out timing.

Enable Task of Specific Survey for Any Object

As a sales administrator, you can now create a survey for any object and activate the survey template. Based on the survey configuration, your sales representative can complete the survey during the store visit.

Perform the following survey tasks:

  • Assign a survey template to a defined task in any object.
  • Publish the parent object task to one or more accounts.
  • Drive survey task completion during store visits and field operations.
  • Leverage this capability in business planning and new product introduction.

Steps to Enable

Perform the following configuration tasks to manage individual tasks per survey:

  • Import the seeded store visit task types.
  • Duplicate the following Account and Activity Object Layouts:
    • ORACO Telesales Sales Rep Layout
    • ORACO Telesales Admin Layout
    • ORACO Telesales Mkt Manager Layout
    • DSD Before Check In Layout
    • DSD Sales Admin and Manager Before Check In layout
    • DSD After Check In Layout
    • DSD After Checkout Layout
    • DSD Not Serviced Layout
  • Enter the Profile option for __ORACO__ENABLE_SURVEY_TASKS with Profile Value of Y.
  • Create or maintain the __ORACO__ESS_NO_OF_SUBJOBS profile option to enable appropriate sub-tasks.
  • Ensure Role Security is set properly for __ORACO__AccountObjTask_c and __ORACO__StoreVisitTasks_c against the following roles: custom objects administration, sales representative custom, account manager custom, marketing manager custom, sales manager custom role, and sales administrator custom.
  • If the ESS web service hasn't been previously registered, create a SOAP web service connection for "ESSWebService" for your WSDL URL.

Tips And Considerations

  • Remember that surveys are authored in OPA. See Consumer Goods Using Guide for more information on how to author and administer surveys.
  • With this feature, you do not need to associate surveys to accounts.

NOTE: The capability to associate surveys to accounts is still available.

  • When maintaining the Profile Option __ORACO__ESS_NO_OF_SUBJOBS, note that this Profile Option is used across all ESS jobs and set the profile value according to your business requirements.
