Overview

HCM Cloud applications have two types of patches you can receive that are documented in this What’s New:

  • Release Updates (19A, 19B, 19C, and 19D)
  • Optional Monthly Maintenance Packs to each update

It is important for you to know what Release Update your environment is on. You can find this in your Cloud Portal.

This document outlines the information you need to know about new or improved functionality in Oracle HCM Cloud. Each section includes a brief description of the feature, the steps you need to take to enable or begin using the feature, any tips or considerations that you should keep in mind, and the resources available to help you.

In addition to this document you will also want to review the Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud Functional Known Issues and Maintenance Packs (Document ID 1554838.1). These documents identify bug fixes and possible known issues. You will also need to review these documents based in the release update version you are currently on or will be moving to.

Oracle HCM Cloud release documents are delivered in five functional groupings:

Suggested Reading for all HCM Products:

  • HCM Cloud Common Features (This document pertains to all HCM applications. It is the base human resource information for all products and HCM Tools.)
  • Global Human Resources Cloud (Global Human Resources contains the base application in which other application use for common data such as workforce structures and person information. Regardless of what products you have implemented you may want to see the new features for Global Human Resources that could impact your products.)

NOTE: Not all Global Human Resource features are available for Talent and Compensation products.

Optional Reading for HCM Products (Depending on what products are in your cloud service):

  • Talent Management Cloud (All Talent applications)
  • Workforce Rewards Cloud (Compensation, Benefits, Payroll and Global Payroll Interface)
  • Workforce Management Cloud (Absence Management and Time and Labor)

Additional Optional Reading:

  • Common Technologies and User Experience (This documents the common features across all Cloud applications and is not specific to HCM)

NOTE: All of these documents can be found on the Oracle Help Center at: https://cloud.oracle.com/saasreadiness/hcm under Human Capital Management Release Readiness.

Feature Summary

Column Definitions:

Report = New or modified, Oracle-delivered, ready to run reports.

UI or Process-Based: Small Scale = These UI or process-based features are typically comprised of minor field, validation, or program changes. Therefore, the potential impact to users is minimal.

UI or Process-Based: Larger Scale* = These UI or process-based features have more complex designs. Therefore, the potential impact to users is higher.

Customer Action Required = You MUST take action before these features can be used by END USERS. These features are delivered disabled and you choose if and when to enable them. For example, a) new or expanded BI subject areas need to first be incorporated into reports, b) Integration is required to utilize new web services, or c) features must be assigned to user roles before they can be accessed.

Ready for Use by End Users
(Feature Delivered Enabled)

Reports plus Small Scale UI or Process-Based new features will have minimal user impact after an update. Therefore, customer acceptance testing should focus on the Larger Scale UI or Process-Based* new features.

Customer Must Take Action before Use by End Users
(Feature Delivered Disabled)

Not disruptive as action is required to make these features ready to use. As you selectively choose to leverage, you set your test and roll out timing.

Global HR Replaced or Removed Features

From time to time, Oracle replaces existing features with new features, or removes existing features.

Replaced features may be put on a path of removal, the features below will let you know what update you will have to have moved to the newer feature. As a best practice, you should move to the newer feature as soon as possible for full support and to stay up with the latest updates that the product offers.

Any feature that is removed, will have an Update in which that feature is no longer available. Please make necessary plans to move off the feature by the Update indicated, as it will no longer be available.

Seniority Dates Moves from V2 to V3 in Update 20B

We recommend that you migrate to version 3 (V3) of the seniority dates feature to leverage the enhanced features introduced in release 17D. These are the key features available only in V3:

  • Display of seniority dates in the Employment Info page for employees, line managers, and HR specialists.
  • Fast formulas for your complex seniority calculations.
  • Ability to load seniority date adjustments using HCM Data Loader.
  • OTBI support.

NOTE: The V1 seniority dates feature will continue to be supported. Only the V2 seniority dates feature is being decommissioned and not supported from release 20B onwards.

Human Capital Management for Australia

Oracle HRMS (Australia) supports country specific features and functions for Australia. It enables users to follow Australia’s business practices and comply with its statutory requirements.

My Personal Payment Methods Field Changes

Oracle Fusion HCM (Australia) supports country-specific features for Australia, thus enabling you to follow Australia’s business practices and comply with its statutory requirements.

My Personal Payment Methods Field Changes

In the Edit Bank Account dialog box, the label, Bank State Branch, has been changed to BSB, which is the more commonly used term in Australia.

The Australian bank accounts now display these ready-to-use fields:

  • Account Number
  • Account Holder
  • BSB

Therefore, the Edit Bank Account dialog box now displays only these fields by default for Australia.

The My Personal Payment Methods Fields that Are Displayed by Default in the Edit Bank Account Dialog Box

For ease of data entry, these My Personal Payment Methods fields are now hidden by default for Australia:

  • IBAN
  • Account Type
  • Check Digit
  • Alternate Account Holder
  • Secondary Account Reference
  • BIC Code
  • Bank
  • Bank Code
  • Bank Branch

If you want to show the hidden fields in the Edit Bank Account dialog box, use the Bank Account User Rules REST API resource, which manages the attributes related to bank, branch, and bank account.

Human Capital Management for Czech Republic

Oracle HRMS (Czech Republic) supports country specific features and functions for the Czech Republic. It enables users to follow the Czech Republic’s business practices and comply with its statutory requirements.

National Identifier Cross Validation

Validate the Czech national identifier personal identification number against the person's gender and date of birth. A warning message is triggered if the validation fails.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

Enter the personal identification number every time there is a change in the Gender or Date of Birth records so that the validation is enabled. For example, when the Date of Birth is wrong, and you enter the correct personal identification number, the validation warning is triggered. If you enter another wrong Date of Birth but don’t update the personal identification number, there’s no other validation warning triggered. It's triggered only if you reenter the personal identification number, even if the existing information is correct.

Human Capital Management for Germany

Enhanced Ethnicity and Race Self-Identification

We have enhanced the Responsive Personal Details page to support Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) reporting requirements for employee ethnicity and race self-identification.  These tasks now include two questions to identify employees of Hispanic or Latino ethnicity and the races of those who are not.

  • Are you Hispanic or Latino?
  • If you are not Hispanic or Latino, which of these races are you?

Steps to Enable

NOTE: This step of enabling profile is for existing customers only. New customers starting with 19D or a later release do not need to setup these profiles, as the new responsive screens are delivered by default.

In order to enable the new Personal Information pages, you must enable the following profile option and have enabled the HCM_RESPONSIVE_PAGES_ENABLED profile option. If you have not enabled the HCM_RESPONSIVE_PAGES_ENABLED profile option, please see following white paper: HCM Responsive User Experience Setup Information (Document ID 2399671.1).

Field Value
Profile Option Code

PER_PERSONAL_INFORMATION_RESPONSIVE_ENABLED

To enable the profile option, navigate to the Setup and Maintenance work area:

  1. Search for and click the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
  2. Search for and select the profile option.
  3. Click to add a new Profile Value.
  4. Select the Level as Site.
  5. Enter a Y in the Profile Value field.
  6. Click Save and Close.

Tips And Considerations

  • The responsive New Hire pages do not have the Ethnicity and Race fields.  You can only update these fields through the Personal Details page.
  • The Ethnicity field is no longer available in the Legislative Information region of the New Hire task.
  • For employees that have previously selected Not Disclosed as their ethnicity, the Responsive UI does not inherit this value.  When the user does update their race, it deletes the Not Disclosed record and creates records for the selected races.
  • The Two or more races option is no longer available for selection.  People identifying as multiple races must select the specific races in the list.  If an employee previously had selected Two or more races, then Two or more races displays as a read-only selection until specific races are selected.
  • When using the HCM Data Loader to load your data, do not use the “Two or more races” lookup code.

Security

New Security Subject Area

We have made it easier for you to report on the security setup in the cloud application by adding a new security subject area. This new subject area, Security - Roles & Privileges Real Time, is designed to make reporting of Roles, Role Objects, and Role Users easier for OTBI users. Users can create and run ad-hoc security reports for needed security review and audit purposes. The subject area has details related to roles, inherited roles, inherited-by roles, data security policies, function security policies, and the users set up in the application.

The subject area also metrics including number of roles, number of users, and so on that can be used to understand the quantity of security built in the organization apart from the actual security details.

These new dashboards are seeded in the catalog to report on all the roles and details.

  • Security dashboard
  • Role dashboard

The Security Dashboard gives an overview of the roles and role categories, for example: abstract, hcm, erp, and their specific counts.

Details of the roles include code, name, description, number, and the details of users who have been assigned the role, the data security policies that make up the role, the functional security policies, and also the details of all the roles that have been inherited by roles.

The dashboard has pages that contain details of various objects related to security.

  • Role Category Overview: Provides the list of role categories and their counts. On drill down from the count, it provides the list of roles under the specific category.

  • Role Overview: This page provides the overview of a role that is chosen from the prompt. There are a few performance tiles related to the specific role which provides the count of roles assigned directly to this role, the count of roles inherited through the roles assigned to them, the count of directly assigned functional and data security policies, and the number of users that have been assigned this role. On drill down from these counts, the cursor navigates to another dashboard named ‘Roles Dashboard’ that is a detailed dashboard which has details of various security objects including the directly assigned roles, functional security policies, data security policies, and so on.

  • Function Security Policy Information: This page provides a summary and details of the function security policy selected from the drop down list. The details include the privilege name, the roles to which this function security policy is assigned, and the resource details such as type, action, name, description, and so on.

  • Data Security Policy Information: This page provides a summary and details of the data security policy (DSP) selected from the drop down list. The details include the roles to which this policy is assigned. For each of the roles to which this DSP is assigned, it also provides the details of the security associated with the specific role.
