HCM Digital Assistant - Chat Widget Configuration
Use HCM Experience Design Studio to configure these features of the Oracle Digital Assistant (ODA) chat widget.
Local, Global, and Card Action Buttons
You can specify whether the buttons on local, global, and card actions should be displayed vertically or horizontally.
- Local action buttons are primary buttons in a chatbot response and the user has to click one of them to proceed further.
- Global action buttons are contextual to a chatbot response and the user can choose to click or skip them.
- Card action buttons are displayed within a response card and the user has to click one of them to proceed further. A response card usually has a title, description, and an action button.
End Conversation
You can enable the user to end a chat conversation, clear the conversation history, and reset the chat session. When this option is enabled, the user sees a Close button on the chat widget. If it isn't enabled, they see a Minimize button.

To configure these options, follow these steps:
- Log on to Fusion Applications.
- Go to My Client Groups > HCM Experience Design Studio.
- On the left menu, select Digital Assistant Configuration.
- From the Digital Assistant list, select the digital assistant that you want to configure.
- Select the End conversation option to allow the user to end the chat conversation and reset the chat session.
- Select the required option from the Time Stamp list.

Remove Payroll Objects for Terminated Employees and Canceled Work Relationships
Cloud HR customers can now use the Remove Person Information task in the Data Exchange work area to remove payroll data related to terminated employees or canceled work relationships from Oracle HCM Cloud. This feature doesn't support the removal of payroll objects for Cloud Payroll customers who have generated employee level payroll results where there is a requirement to maintain payroll data for audit purposes.

The payroll information you can delete for an employee include:
- Payroll Relationships and Payroll Assignments
- Element Entries: Includes entries created by other products, such as Compensation and Benefits.
- Calculation Entries and Calculation Cards: Includes time, absences, and involuntary deductions cards.
- Payrolls: This is the payroll record assigned to the employee such as Weekly payroll.
- Personal Payment Methods
- Person Costing
NOTE: You can't remove payroll data from employees who have payroll results such as employees included in the Calculate Payroll process.
Run the process only for terminated employees with a termination date in the past. Once deleted, you can't retrieve the deleted data.
Before you submit the Remove Person Information process, use the Configure Person Information Removal Policies task to configure a policy that defines which business objects will have data removed or obfuscated. When you configure the person information removal policy for payroll objects, in the Business Objects section select the check box next to either the standalone Payroll node or the Worker -> Work Relationship node. When you select either of these nodes, all of the employee payroll objects mentioned previously gets deleted.

The Payroll node has no components or child nodes displayed on the Components: Remove Employee Data page and doesn't include any attributes for masking.
You can delete an employee's data only if you have access to the employee's data.
This feature supports the removal of implicitly created payroll related objects for Cloud HR customers. It doesn't support the removal of payroll objects for Cloud Payroll customers who have generated employee level payroll results where there is a requirement to maintain payroll data for audit purposes.
Steps to Enable
Follow these steps to configure a policy that defines which business objects will have data removed or obfuscated:
-
Navigate to Data Exchange >> Remove Person Information.
-
Click Configure Person Information Removal Policies.
-
Click Create to open the Create Template window. The required fields are:
- NAME: The name of the template.
- CODE: The template code, defaults to the name of the template.
- CATEGORY: The Business Object the template is created for. The available options are: Worker and Candidate.
- DESCRIPTION (optional): A brief note or summary of the action.
-
Create the template to remove the person.
-
In the Business Objects section, select the check box next to the Payroll object, to enable it.
-
Click Save and Close.
You can delete an employee's data only if you have access to the employee's data. Follow these steps to grant access to a user for removing person information:
-
On the Create Role page of the Security Console, create a job role.
-
On the Function Security Policy page (Navigator > Security Console > Roles > Create Role), add Configure Person Information Removal Policies (HRC_CONFIGURE_PERSON_INFO_REMOVAL_POLICIES_PRIV) privilege to the role.
-
On the Role Hierarchy page (Navigator > Security Console > Roles > Create Role), add Remove Person Information (ORA_HRC_REMOVE_PERSON_INFORMATION) role membership to access both Report and Remove modes. Add Generate Remove Person Information (ORA_HRC_GENERATE_REMOVE_PERSON_INFORMATION_FILE) role membership to access Report mode alone.
-
On the Data Roles and Security Profiles page (Navigator > My Client > Workforce Structures > Data Roles and Security Profiles), create a data role for the job role that you created.
Note: Remove Person Information security is person-based therefore, to restrict access for removing person information, you can create a security profile on the Person Security Profiles page (Navigator > My Client > Workforce Structures > Security Profiles) and add it to the data role. If you want users to access and remove all person records, use View All People security profile.
-
Add the data role to appropriate users.
Tips And Considerations
- This solution is available in the Data Exchange work area with its own dedicated tasks.

Role And Privileges
To grant access to a user for removing person information, refer to the following documentation for further details:
- HCM Data Loader guide - Removing Person Information: Explained
HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader provides a flexible and efficient method of bulk loading business object data for data-migration and on-going incremental updates to Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud.

REPLACED OR REMOVED FEATURES
From time to time, Oracle replaces existing Cloud service features with new features or removes existing features. When a feature is replaced the older version may be removed immediately or at a future time. As a best practice, you should use the newer version of a replaced feature as soon as the newer version is available.

Controlled Availability for HCM Common
The following is a list of Controlled Availability features that are being offered by our Controlled Availability Program.
NOTE: These features are not generally available for all customers at this time. These are only available through the Controlled Availability Program and will require approval to become a part of the features program. To be a part of these programs you will be required to participate in testing and providing feedback. Some programs may require other participation as well.
Not to worry if you don't have to time to be a part of these early stage programs. You can uptake this feature when it is generally available for all customers. When these features are available for all customers you will see the features under their product headings as usual.
We invite you all to browse through the list of features to see if there are any features you are interested in implementing in advance of the features scheduled release. The table below will provide information on signing up for features. Please sign up soon, as these programs have limited availability and some are designed for specific types of customers.
The table below gives you a brief description of the features available and how to sign up. Some features are bigger than others, so for more information there may be a What's New describing the feature in more detail below this table.
We look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas as you participate the Controlled Availability programs!
