Feature Summary

Column Definitions:

Report = New or modified, Oracle-delivered, ready to run reports.

UI or Process-Based: Small Scale = These UI or process-based features are typically comprised of minor field, validation, or program changes. Therefore, the potential impact to users is minimal.

UI or Process-Based: Larger Scale* = These UI or process-based features have more complex designs. Therefore, the potential impact to users is higher.

Features Delivered Disabled = Action is needed BEFORE these features can be used by END USERS. These features are delivered disabled and you choose if and when to enable them. For example, a) new or expanded BI subject areas need to first be incorporated into reports, b) Integration is required to utilize new web services, or c) features must be assigned to user roles before they can be accessed.

Ready for Use by End Users
(Feature Delivered Enabled)

Reports plus Small Scale UI or Process-Based new features will have minimal user impact after an update. Therefore, customer acceptance testing should focus on the Larger Scale UI or Process-Based* new features.

Customer Must Take Action before Use by End Users
(Feature Delivered Disabled)

Not disruptive as action is required to make these features ready to use. As you selectively choose to leverage, you set your test and roll out timing.

Rollups for custom objects

Your users can define rollups for custom objects in the Rollups framework.

A standardized process to manage and calculate aggregated information ensures all metrics that are deployed across the application are consistent, accurate, and performant is also available for the custom objects

Steps to Enable

Here’s a summary of the privileges, setups, and tasks involved in setting up rollups for Sales:

  1. Create custom rollup child object for the custom object in Application Composer
  2. Add the Manage Rollup Metrics privilege to a copy of the Sales Administrator job role (ORA_ZBS_SALES_ADMINISTRATOR_JOB).
  3. Enable the Rollup Test Enabled profile option (ORA_ZCA_TEST_ROLLUPS), to display the Test tab on the Rollups setup page.
  4. Verify that these scheduled processes appear on the Scheduled Process page:
  • Rollup Full Refresh
  • Rollup Hierarchy Refresh
  • Rollup Incremental Refresh

Key Resources

To learn how to implement rollups for your organization, see the "Rollups" chapter in the Implementing Sales guide.

Create Custom Index on Transaction Attributes for Faster Calculation

Create indexes on transaction attribute columns of your own choice to speed up the calculation process. Create these indexes when you have user-defined queries in formulas referring to these attributes.

Create an index by submitting the Create Incentive Compensation Custom Index process. You cannot create more than 2 custom indexes. To drop an index, submit the Drop Incentive Compensation Custom Index process.

Submit both these processes from the Scheduled Processes page after logging in as an Incentive Compensation Administrator.

Faster calculation when you use user-defined queries in a formula.

Find out how many new credits will be processed as well as how many older credits will be processed from the eligibility and calculation phase in that specific calculation job submitted.

Get this information in the log file while the calculation is running. An email will also be sent out with the same information if the calculation runs for more than the time in minutes mentioned in the profile option 'Time Threshold for Emailing Calculation Details'.

Better planning around calculation and payment activities.
