Oracle will apply the latest updates to your test environment on Friday, October 6, 2017 and to your production environment on Friday, October 20, 2017. The update will be applied during your normal daily maintenance window.
The Oracle Help Center, which provides access to updated documentation, will also be available on October 6, 2017.
NOTE: You can migrate maintenance snapshots from the current version of the service instance to the preceding version or to the next version. For example, snapshots from 17.08 can be imported into 17.07 and 17.09 service instances. Migration between the same versions is always supported.
Effective the February 2018 (18.02) update, the Dimensions link in the Navigator will link to the Simplified Dimension Editor. Consequently, the Classic Dimension Editor will not be supported starting with the February 2018 update to the service (February 2, 2018 for test and February 16, 2018 for production instances).
For detailed information on using the Simplified Dimension Editor, See “Working with Dimensions Using the Dimension Editor” in the Administering Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud guide.
Display Localized Labels in Referenced Navigation Flow Cards, Tabs, and Clusters
When referencing cards, tabs, and clusters from another navigation flow or from another subscription, the system now displays the localized labels that were specified while defining the source navigation flow. To update the card, tab, and cluster labels in your navigation flow, on the Home page, click Tools, and then click Artifact Labels. See “Designing Custom Navigation Flows” in Administering Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud guide.
New EPM Automate Utility Version
A new version of the EPM Automate Utility is available with this update. This version includes updates to the login command, which now accepts internet proxy server domain, user name, and password as optional parameters. This enhancement enables you to use the EPM Automate utility in corporate network environments with internet proxy server configuration that require users to authenticate with the proxy server before establishing communication with resources outside the corporate network.
You must install this version of the utility to use the updated command. See these sections in Working with EPM Automate for Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud:
- Installation instructions: Installing the Utility
- Instructions to run commands: Command Reference
You can now override the average FX rate applied to NIBT to enable you to tie-out to the translated NIBT in the consolidation system. Two new custom attributes must be defined in the Account dimension to perform the override:
- TRCS_NIBT Override Rate Accounts is used to assign the override rate.
- NIBT FX Override Difference Account is used to specify a permanent difference account to post the FX override difference in the translated currency.
See “Entering NIBT FX Override Rates” in the Working with Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud guide.
Assigning CbCR Switch Sign Attribute
If you want to populate your CbCR application by mapping a Book Account from the Consol cube, you may want to reverse the sign associated with the Book Accounts for selected CbCR values to ensure the sign makes sense to the intended audience. A new custom attribute for the Account dimension has been added to enable you to switch signs in your CbCR cube.
During consolidation the modified sign is recognized, and treated accordingly. The Book Data is not impacted by the switch sign attribute.
See “Assigning CbCR Switch Sign Attribute” in the Administering Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud guide.
Generating Custom Reports for Close Management and Supplemental Data Management
You can create reports against Close Manager and Supplemental Data. The reports can be generated in pdf, html, or XLS format.
Building custom reports for Close Management and Supplemental Data Management involves four steps and can only be performed by a Service Administrator:
- Create a Close Management Query or Supplemental Data Query from the Actions button of the Queries tab.
- Create a template.
- Set up a report group.
- Set up the report.
The Reports card is available from the Application Cluster. To build custom reports, you create a query whose definition can then be exported as an XML file. Import the XML file into Word and use it to create a template document, which must be in RTF format.
Then you can set up a report group to group individual reports. Finally, generate the report, which uses both the query and the template you created and can be set with a default output of PDF, HTML, or XLS (Excel).
Once a custom report has been built, the service administrator or other users given access can generate the report. For more information, see “Generating Custom Reports” in the Administering Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud guide.
The HsGetValue function now supports the use of attribute dimensions and members with these Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud sources:
- Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud
- Oracle Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud
- Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud
- Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud
For information on using the HsGetValue function, see the “HsGetValue” topic in the Working with Oracle Smart View for Office.

Oracle Smart View for Office Known Issue
Due to an issue with Microsoft Office, using the copy and paste functionality in Excel and then performing any Smart View operation (such as Refresh, Zoom In, or Submit) causes Smart View to stop responding in the following cases (26796966):
- Copying a column to multiple columns if the column copied contains a Smart List or the database to which you’re connected supports duplicate member names.
- Copying one Smart List cell to multiple cells
- Copying one member cell to multiple cells if the database to which you’re connected supports duplicate member names
The issue is fixed for Excel 2013 and Excel 2016 if you have applied the updates described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) articles:
- For Excel 2013: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3115455/august-9--2016--update-for-excel-2013-kb3115455
- For Excel 2016: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3115438/august-9--2016--update-for-excel-2016-kb3115438
Microsoft has not provided the fix for Excel 2010. Workarounds:
- While designing the ad hoc grid and copying and pasting columns or cells, ensure that the Member Name Display option is set to "Distinct Member Name Only." The Member Name Display option is in the Member Options tab of the Options dialog box.
- After pasting, save the workbook and reopen it, then perform the refresh.
When using EPM Automate, log out and log in again after importing a Financial Close Management (FCM) snapshot to refresh the icons on the Home page.
You may receive inaccurate messages from Navigator if pop-up blockers are enabled. Disable pop-up blockers in your browser to avoid this.
In the Academy, some pages and icons may appear different in the video and the Cloud service.
