Feature Summary

Column Definitions:

Report = New or modified, Oracle-delivered, ready to run reports.

UI or Process-Based: Small Scale = These UI or process-based features are typically comprised of minor field, validation, or program changes. Therefore, the potential impact to users is minimal.

UI or Process-Based: Larger Scale* = These UI or process-based features have more complex designs. Therefore, the potential impact to users is higher.

Features Delivered Disabled = Action is needed BEFORE these features can be used by END USERS. These features are delivered disabled and you choose if and when to enable them. For example, a) new or expanded BI subject areas need to first be incorporated into reports, b) Integration is required to utilize new web services, or c) features must be assigned to user roles before they can be accessed.

Ready for Use by End Users
(Feature Delivered Enabled)

Reports plus Small Scale UI or Process-Based new features will have minimal user impact after an update. Therefore, customer acceptance testing should focus on the Larger Scale UI or Process-Based* new features.

Customer Must Take Action before Use by End Users
(Feature Delivered Disabled)

Not disruptive as action is required to make these features ready to use. As you selectively choose to leverage, you set your test and roll out timing.

Storm Estimation Restoration Timelines

When storms approach, utilities need to be able to predict and communicate how long it will take to restore power to customers. Many utilities currently use an informal, undocumented process to develop a Global Estimated Restoration Timeline (ERT). Typically the process relies on the previous experience of a small number of utility staff.

This first release of the Storm ERT module enables utility users to produce estimated restoration timelines for storms, based on actual restoration timelines from historic storms. Each “storm model” comprises one or more ERT curves, where estimated restoration milestones are visualized on a chart. You can perform “what if studies” to view the effect of deploying different numbers of crews at different stages of the restoration process. Each storm model transitions through a lifecycle, with significant changes recorded in an audit log. The ability to add comments is also supported. As outage restoration activities proceed, the Actual Restoration Timeline can be displayed on the chart, as restoration information is taken from the Outage Management System.

Storm ERT is designed to work with Oracle Network Management System, or interface to third party Outage Management Systems, providing a productized solution to help estimate and communicate restoration timelines and milestones.

Steps to Enable

Storm ERT requires outage restoration information from historic storms. As such, potential customers must have an Outage Management System, which provides enough information about individual outages to build restoration curves for historic storms.

An interface provided as part of the Storm ERT module provides a mechanism to load historic outages into Storm ERT as a means of creating historic storms. The mapping between Storm ERT and the customer’s Outage Management System is a prerequisite to the successful deployment of Storm ERT.

Filter Results Screen Enhancements

The Filter Results screen has been enhanced to indicate which meters have notes associated with them. You can also persistently see the column labels on the Filter Results screen when scrolling down and reliably see selected meters in the display section when you are using the keyboard up or down arrows to move from one meter to another.

These enhancements improve the user experience in a variety of ways. For example, you no longer have to open individual meters to see which ones have notes, but can view an indicator from the Filter Results screen.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Transformer Load Management Panel Enhancement

Previously, when you selected a line transformer on the Transformer Load Management (TLM) Panel which did not have any meters associated with it, you received a vague error message stating, "An error occurred when fetching data." The user experience has been improved by introducing a more descriptive error message stating, "There are no meters associated to this line-transformer."

Additionally, in previous versions, the export option available on the TLM Panel did not export the meter legends. Now meter legends are included in TLM line transformer meter exports.

The TLM Panel updates enhance the user error handling experience and allow you to get meter legend information at export.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

User Interface Permissions Enhancement

You can save panel configurations and use the Notes feature even if you are a member of the non-power user group. Previously, members of this user group did not have this functionality.

This allows for this extra functionality without the need to set up special permissions.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Run Operations Screen Enhancements

You can view all in-progress runs by default in the RunOps screen. You can also view all running tasks by selecting the Task radio button and Active Only checkbox.

This improves the Admin and Platform Operations user experience.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Map Enhancements

You can review additional data for line transformers and associated meters on the map in the Filter Results panel. When selecting a line transformer, you can now see a point on the map representing the line transformer. Additionally, when you display points for the line transformer, the map shows only the meters that are connected to the line transformer. The map no longer shows meters that are within the boundary of the line transformer, but not connected to it.

This makes it easier to understand where a line transformer and its associated meters are located.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
