Dashboard Refresh

Review dynamic and responsive visualizations of the overall health of test automation runs using the updated Oracle Utilities Testing Accelerator dashboard. You can now dynamically filter flow run data to view various data points pertaining to test automation runs. This gives you the ability to ascertain the health of the Oracle Utilities Cloud Service you are testing.

The dashboard's dynamic filters and visualizations ensure better planning and management of test runs and the ability to ascertain the application's health over time.

Cloud Service Foundation

Support Batch Stream Batch Jobs Submission As a Single Submitter

Submit batch jobs in a batch stream as a single batch job for all threads using the Single Submitter program option of the scheduler program.

The Single Submitter option provides the flexibility to submit one batch job for all the batch stream threads instead of submitting one batch job for each thread.

Customer

Customer

Integration

Oracle Responsys Integration for Transactional Outbound Notifications

Use the Oracle Utilities Customer Cloud Service integration with Oracle Responsys to send cloud service initiated transactional notifications and correspondence to customers via email or SMS.

The integration decreases project implementation costs, duration, risks, and total cost of ownership.

Migration Tools

Conversion Tool for Populating Metering-Related Objects from Legacy Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing Master Objects

Populate metering-related objects like contact, device, and service point with data from legacy Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing master objects like person, meter, and service point.

The migration tool reduces projects costs, configuration time, and migration timelines. The tool simplifies migration from the Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing data model to the Oracle Utilities Customer To Meter data model, which is the foundation of Oracle Utilities Customer Cloud Service.

Web Services

Additional and Enhanced REST APIs

View and manage various customer-related data using new and updated application-owned REST Inbound Web Services.

You can use these REST Inbound Web Services to decrease project costs and timelines.

Meter Solution

Aggregation

Dimension Scanner and Aggregation Monitor Performance Improvements

Complete batch jobs faster with the addition of multi-threading support to the D1-DSAEM (Dimension Scanner and Aggregation Monitor) batch control.

This saves time and results in a more efficient process.

Measurement Quality and Timeliness Dimension Scan Batch Control

Perform dimension scans on timeliness and quality aggregation with the multi-threading-enabled D1-MQTDS (Measurement Quality and Timeliness Dim Scan) batch control.

This batch control improves performance and reliability, and saves the current progress of an interrupted batch run.

Data Extracts

Headers on Specialized Extracts

Measurement and Initial Measurement Data Header data extracts now include a header record.

This helps with the export of data when fields change or there are multiple versions of an extract.

Oracle Field Service Integration

Multiple Service Histories Support

Send multiple service history types for activity type to the field work application using the Operation Device Management/Service Order Management integration. Previously, only single service history types could be sent.

This reduces project costs, configuration time, and custom integration work.

Oracle Device Cloud Service - Oracle Field Service Cloud Integration

Pass device-related field activities like meter test or device inspection to Oracle Field Service Cloud for scheduling, routing, and completion.

The Oracle Device Cloud Service and Oracle Field Service Cloud integration provides the capability to pass a collection of planned service histories for an activity and pass valid service histories for each asset linked to the activity, which field crews can complete.

Product Usability Metrics

Meter and Channel Counts Without a Usage Subscription

Calculate meter and channel counts without consideration of usage subscriptions using the Product Use Metric dashboard.

This allows you to see meter and channel counts in implementations that are not using the usage calculation functionality.

Service Orders and Field Work

Service Orders and Field Tasks by CIS Division

Issue service orders and field tasks by CIS Division.

This is useful for multi-division companies that issue different types of work requests by service type or region. This reduces build time, build costs, and occurrence of errors.

Capture Field Activity Reschedule Reason

Capture the field activity reschedule reason after rebooking a scheduled appointment or changing the scheduled service date of a Service Order Management field activity.

This reduces project costs, configuration time, and custom integration work.

Mirroring Field Activity's Cancel Reason

View the same cancel reason on Customer Cloud Service's field activity after cancelling the field activity on Meter Solution Cloud Service or Service Order Management.

This reduces project costs, configuration time, and custom integration work.

Smart Grid Gateway

Commands

Sensus Adapter - Unit of Measurement Filtering for On-Demand Reads

Filter out unwanted meter readings from on-demand read requests with the Sensus adapter's Unit of Measurement filter and exclude units of measure without a corresponding Meter Solution Cloud Service measuring component.

The Unit of Measurement filter prevents errors based on unwanted meter readings and reduces manual work.

AMI Adapters

Sensus Adapter Updates

Sensus RNI version 4.10 is now supported.

This reduces maintenance costs.

Silver Springs Network Adapter Updates

Itron SSN (AMM) version 4.14 is now supported.

The updated SSN adapter reduces maintenance costs and enables the use of the latest SSN head-end system.

Operational Device

Support for Pre-Assembled Meters/Electronic Reading Devices

Record pre-assembled meters (meters with attached communication components) in Operational Device Management before the assemblage is installed at a service point.

This extends device installation functionality by providing support for installation of preassembled meters.

Analytics Visualization

Service Agreement Arrears Subject Area and Sample Visualizations

Review and analyze monthly service agreement arrears with the new analytics visualization subject area. You can review and analyze service agreement arrears, in aged buckets, by attributes such as Customer Class, Service Type, and more.

The Service Agreement Arrears analytics visualization subject area provides insights into outstanding debt.

Write Off Process Subject Area and Sample Visualizations

Review and analyze write off processes with the new analytics visualization subject area. You can determine active write off processes and associated outstanding debts, effectiveness of write off processes, number of created processes, and more.

The Write Off Process analytics visualization subject area provides insights into outstanding debt associated with write off processes.

Utilities Application Framework

Product Usability

Entity Tags

Use the new Entity Tag foundation object to allow products to be further categorized to improve efficiency of costs.

You can tag entities to provide better mechanisms for finding and maintaining information.

Field References

Allow developers to ascertain where fields are used for impact analysis using a new cross reference feature in Field maintenance.

You can review all application references of a field record.

Menu Application Security Portal

Use a new portal to improve identification and maintenance of application services for user groups attributed to menu items. This simplifies security maintenance and reduces costs.

You can review and adjust the application security grants a user group has for application components associated with a menu line.

New Hot Keys for Navigation

Use the keyboard to quickly jump to different sections of the user interface using hot keys.

You can use this keyboard navigation to more easily navigate to different sections of the user interface with fewer keystrokes.

New User Experience

As part of Oracle's overall user experience strategy, the Oracle Utilities Application Framework has adopted the new standard for a more consistent and modern user experience.

Oracle is transitioning all its products to a new consistent user experience, branded the Redwood experience. The Oracle Utilities Application Framework has implemented this experience to provide a more consistent and modern interface with new design elements including consistent color, layout, fonts, behavior and icongraphy.

Open API Specification Enhancements

Integration with OpenAPI has been improved to provide more consistency and comply with standards.

You can use the generated Open API Specification to comply with up-to-date schema validation requirements.

User Group Services Management - Filter User Groups by Entity Tag

When managing services attached to a user group, use a new tag filter to reduce time in finding appropriate services.

This allows you to refine the list of application services by logical function.

Batch Processing

DBMS Submission Default Changed to Single Submission

To improve efficiency of submitting and managing multiple threads, the single submitter option for execution is now the default method.

A multi-threaded batch job is submitted by the DBMS scheduler using a single batch job by default. This may provide fewer records to manage.

Implementation Tools

Admin Log Retrieval

Authorize administrators to view tracing and debug logs of other users to increase efficiency.

A system administrator can view the logs of other user to, for example, provide better support or access special batch and user logs.

Explicit Imports in Groovy Scripts

Going forward, Groovy objects now include explicit imports to avoid duplication and inconsistencies. This reduces complication time at runtime.

By defining Groovy Imports explicitly in Groovy scripts, you can eliminate ambiguous class references and improves compilation time.

Improved Portal Zone Height Control

Use new zone height options to improve flexibility and efficiency of portal designs.

You can enhance the configuration of portal zones to better and more simply control zone height.

New Base Display Icon Images Supplied

Experience a more consistent and relevant icon library with each release of the product.

Additional icons allow for a richer user experience for displayed information.

Groovy Version 3.0.7 Upgrade

The Oracle Utilities Application Framework was updated to use Groovy 3.0.7.

To Do Management

Improved User Search for Assigning To Do Entries

Use new Name and User ID filters to improve assignment of To Dos to individuals and review the number of To Dos already assigned to help prevent over allocation.

When assigning a To Do Entry, you can now filter the list by User ID and user Name. You can also see the number of To Do Entries each user already has assigned to them.

Data Export

General Data Export - File Size Control

Restrict file sizes from the Generalized Data export to provide better support for external systems.

This allows you to  produce smaller Generalized Data Export (GDE) files.

General Data Export - Ongoing Export Enabled On-Premise

The general data export capability, already available on the cloud, is now available to all customers to extract and synchronize data to external data lakes, analytics platforms, and so on.

This provides on-premise installations with the ability to continuously export data as it changes.

General Data Export - Thread Allocation Control

Inherit the number of threads from the initiator of the extract rather than on individual processes to help reduce costs.

You can fine tune the number of threads allocated to each initial export batch process when submitted via the F1-GEXPI (Generalized Initial Export Initiator) batch process.

Miscellaneous

Oracle Guided Learning Integration

Utilities can integrate to Oracle Guided Learning to provide higher levels of documentation and knowledge.

The Oracle Guided Learning cloud service allows utilities to provide access to contextual policies, business processes, and training materials from Oracle Utilities products. This integration allows customers to link their Oracle Guided Learning subscription and enables an on screen widget to enable the integration.

Application Security

Consolidation of Default Application Services

Reduce cost and risk now that the default application services have been consolidated.

This consolidation reduces the number of application services required for users to have basic application security.

New Application Service for Master Configuration Maintenance Object

Secure the master configuration maintenance object separately from the master configuration portal.

This allows for more flexible and granular security configuration.
