Overview

Oracle Utilities Generation Asset Manager Cloud Service is a highly scalable operational awareness tool that can organize and visualize real-time and historical data from operational technology systems. It is tightly integrated with Oracle Utilities Live Energy Connect. Generation Asset Manager Cloud Service is intuitively designed so you can view, track, and understand real-time and historical performance of your assets.

There are two basic components of the Generation Asset Manager Cloud Service: The Live Energy Connect Portal, a web-based application, and the Historian, a cloud-based time series database.

You can use the Live Energy Connect Portal to:

  • view unit statuses.
  • receive real-time notifications and alerts about each unit.
  • select which metrics display in graph view for a unit.
  • browse historical data for each unit.
  • view market positions.

Live Energy Connect Portal

The Live Energy Connect Portal gives you quick access to real-time data about your assets using a dashboard. The dashboard is intuitively designed to help you quickly review the status and metrics of your assets and send you alerts if the status of an asset changes. The dashboard shows you the number of units connected or disconnected, and if the status is expected or unexpected. A graph view includes the name of your asset, its status, the time period to help identify trends, and a time range selector.

In the Notifications panel, you can view real-time alerts and use the Details link to read additional information about an alert. In addition, the Unit Output panel lists assets and the real-time sum of all energy consumed by your assets.

Data Historian

The Historian is a sophisticated cloud-based time series database that gives you the capability to organize and collect your operational technology measurement data. You can also use it to model the relationships between data and specify how long to store data. You can use Historian to define points, units, and alerts as a part of the setup process of populating data through the Live Energy Connect Portal. After you define points and units, you can send measurement data for those points from Oracle Utilities Live Energy Connect to the Oracle Utilities Application Framework.
