Data Lakehouse

Smart meters, the influx of new assets, electrification, decarbonization—these trends are resulting in more volumes of data than the utility industry's legacy applications were built to handle. In addition, utilities must adhere to new regulations and manage more service disruptions due to climate change. Addressing these issues requires utilities to process, store, analyze, and gain insights from enormous volumes of data.

Oracle Energy and Water Data Lakehouse is Oracle's answer to these complex challenges. Data Lakehouse provides cost-effective storage for structured and unstructured data, as well as the analytical power of a data warehouse. With this unique combination, Oracle's solution can help utilities shorten implementation timelines and reduce maintenance costs.

Data Lakehouse

Implementation Tools

Pre-built Data Ingest

Data Lakehouse comes with pre-built data ingest capabilities for initial historical data and incremental data changes from your Customer to Meter source application.

This reduces the total cost of ownership and time to market by leveraging Data Lakehouse's pre-built data ingest capabilities for building, testing, and monitoring your data integration with Customer to Meter.

Use Customer to Meter Characteristics in Your Analysis

Characteristic Types and values set up for Customer to Meter entities (for example Account, Service Agreement, Person, Service Point, and Premise) can be exposed as fields or columns in the pre-built subject areas by configuration. This enables the use of customer-specific attributes in your analysis without customization.

Use Custom Identifiers of Customer to Meter Entities in Your Analysis

Implementation often stores additional identifiers of Customer to Meter entities (for example, device identifiers) in its identifier child table. The identifiers stored in the identifier child tables can be exposed as fields or columns in the pre-built subject areas by configuration. This enables the use of customer-specific attributes in your analysis without customization.

Product Usability

Pre-built Subject Areas

Use pre-built subject areas for data visualization, analytics, and reporting. The subject areas include information related to Customer, Meter, Common (specifically To Do Entries), and Operations.

The subject areas allow you to build visualizations and reports that help answer complex business questions about utility customers and operations.

Data Visualization - Sample Workbooks

Begin your analysis and reporting with Oracle Energy and Water Data Lakehouse's catalog of sample Data Visualization workbooks. These contain groupings of canvases, which in turn include visualizations based on specific subject areas.

The sample workbooks provide a starting point for data analysis and reporting.
