Utilities Common

Utilities Testing Accelerator

Enhanced Run Summary Report

Review additional business information pertaining to a test in the test run summary report.

In the enhanced report, you can review the business process that was tested as part of the flow run and see how long it took to complete each of the functions in the business process. The summary report now uses the component step descriptions from the flow, which are organized into a structured tree object, so you can control how much information is displayed. If there is a failed step, the reason for failure is available under the Test Steps on the corresponding component step.

Test Flow Run - Conditional Pause and Resume

Define conditional pause and resume run conditions on a test flow using one or more components provided by the interface.

This allows you to create test flows that run to completion only after pre-determined conditions are met and provides the flexibility to design time- and condition-based test flows.

Run Flow - Flow Run Status

Quickly determine the current lifecycle status of a test flow run in the Flow Run Status field on the Run Flow page. This field shows if the test flow passed, failed, stopped, is still running, or is waiting for a condition to occur.

This provides a descriptive lifecycle status for the test flow run in a prominent location.

Test Flow Data - Integration Environment Variable

Configure the "environment" variable of the web service you use for your integration test flow by switching on the Integration Environment toggle in the Web Service Details section of the Edit Test Data page and defining the Environment value.

These improve readability and usability of the Test Data page during development and management of test flows for end to end integration scenarios across applications.

Operational Device

Operational Device

There are no major updates planned for Oracle Utilities Operational Device Cloud Service for 23A.

Integrations

Message Sender Context Type - OAuth Token Request Details in Body

Have the option to send confidential information in the message body of an authorization token request instead of the message header.

This allows support for more OAuth token providers. This has no impact on existing customizations.

Utilities Application Framework

Batch Processing

Batch Logs for Issues Found Before Thread Execution

Troubleshoot issues found in the early steps of a batch job by using logs captured prior to the thread execution.

This enables you to detect issues that occur before the initiation of the thread execution.

Plugin-driven Extract - Support for Writing to Multiple Files and Flexibility in File Names

Write multiple files with dynamic file names using the plugin-drive extract.

The plug-driven extract now supports writing data to different files based on business data, such as CIS division or person type or service provider. This change has no impact on existing extracts.

Support for Encrypted Files and Digital Signatures

The application now supports encryption, decryption, and digital signing of files during an exchange with an external system.

The batch framework supports encrypting and/or signing outbound files and decrypting and/or verifying the signatures of inbound files. New batch parameters were introduced to define the key rings that store the public or private keys. This has no impact on existing customizations.

Content Migration Assistant

CMA Import Performance Improvements

Import new high volume data faster.

The import step of the CMA process can now execute insert statements more efficiently by leveraging the database's bind variables functionality. This is transparent to existing in-progress migrations.

CMA Support for Separate Configuration and Business Data Migrations

Separate configuration and business test data imports to improve migration efficiency.

This is more efficient for environments with concurrent migrations of configuration and high volume business data.

Implementation Tools

Debugging Tools - Consolidated into a Single Button

Easily access several debug tools using a single button with a slide-out panel.

This regains space in the main user interface, allowing for more debugging features to be added without taking away more user interface space from the Main page.

New Base Display Icon Images

Review additional icons available from the icon library.

Additional icons allow for an enhanced user experience for displayed information. These have no impact on existing customizations.

Product Usability

Algorithm Portal

Review algorithm references on a new Algorithm maintenance portal, which replaces the Algorithm page.

This portal improves efficiency for building and maintaining algorithms for developers without impacting extensions.

Application Security Query Portal

Review application security configuration across users, user groups, and all types of secured application components through the new Application Security Query portal.

This portal improves efficiency for building and maintaining security without impacting customizations.

Application Service Query Portal - Search by Release Version

Search and retrieve a list of application services based on the release in which they were introduced using the Application Service Query portal.

This makes the uptake step of reviewing new application services easier. This change is transparent to customizations as it improves efficiency for building and maintaining security.

Geographic Type Portal

Maintain geographic type information using a new portal, which replaces the Geographic Type page.

This portal improves productivity for adding and maintaining geographical types without impacting extensions.

Improved Field Portal

Add or update all the information about a lookup field and its values in the Field portal.

This provides you with a seamless experience to maintain lookup fields. It improves efficiency for developers without impacting customizations.

Inbound Web Service Query Portal - Additional Search Options

Search information related to REST operations and help text configuration with the Inbound Web Service Query portal.

This provides additional query options for searching inbound web services. This is transparent to customizations as it improves efficiency for building and maintaining inbound web services for developers.

Lookup Portal

Navigate to the field associated with a lookup using a new portal, which replaces the Lookup page.

This portal improves efficiency for building and maintaining lookups for developers without impacting extensions.

Online Help Opens in Oracle Help Center for Oracle Utilities Application Framework-based Applications

Launching the online help from within an Oracle Utilities Application Framework-based application now opens help in a separate browser window accessed from Oracle Help Center.

This removes the need to manage and deploy the help engine used in past releases of the application without any loss of functionality or content. It also reduces overall deployment times significantly and adds convenient functionality for the user, such as the ability to bookmark individual help pages.

Phone Type Portal

Add or maintain phone types using a new portal, which replaces the the Phone Type page.

This portal improves productivity when adding or maintaining phone types without impacting extensions.

User Group Portal

Maintain user group information using a new portal, which replaces the User Group page.

This improves efficiency for building and maintaining security without impacting customizations.

Work List Zone - Improved Item Navigation

Easily navigate through the items listed on the Work List zone with the following interface updates:

  • Current item is marked with a Star icon to distinguish it from the previous item.
  • The Previous and Next buttons allow you to move through the list.
  • The Ignore icon allows you to skip an item when using the Previous and Next buttons.
  • The Work List zone keeps the position of the current entry in view after a dashboard refresh.

These enhancements allow you to navigate through the list more efficiently.

Miscellaneous

Support for Capturing and Exporting Batch Run Analytics Data

New batch processes capture ongoing snapshots of batch run data and create export files from those snapshot tables.

  • Batch Run Analytics Snapshot Update
  • Batch Run Analytics Snapshot Data Export
  • Batch Thread Analytics Snapshot Update
  • Batch Thread Analytics Data Export

These processes populate and export batch run analytics data for upload to external analytics environments and for future use in Oracle Utilities Analytics Visualization.
