Provision Production Environments in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
Starting with the 19C update, Oracle WMS Cloud production environments are provisioned in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), which is the latest generation of the Oracle Cloud.
Adopt Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing
All Oracle WMS Cloud environments now run on the Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing version of the Oracle database. In a mission critical application like Oracle WMS Cloud, Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing Cloud Service brings customers unprecedented uptime including maintenance. The latest security patches are applied without compromising availability.
Support for Enterprise Single Sign On with Oracle Identity Cloud Service
You can now use Oracle WMS Cloud with the Enterprise Single Sign On feature of the Oracle Identity Cloud Service.
Consider Dimension Check During Putaway
Putaway and replenishment now perform a critical dimension check (length, width, height) of the item and LPN to ensure that it does not exceed the dimensions of the stock location. This may be important for irregular shaped items or LPNs (e.g. long and skinny).
Consider Weight Check During Putaway
Putaway and replenishment now perform a weight check of the inventory in the Inbound LPN/Pallet to ensure that it meets the minimum and does not exceed the maximum weight of the stock location. This helps ensure that the stock locations are properly loaded.
Configure Destination Location Type in Standalone Replenishment
Standalone replenishment is used in Oracle WMS Enterprise Cloud for min-max replenishment of stock locations. Standalone Replenishment now allows a Destination Location Type of either Reserve, Active, or Both. This can be helpful in min-max replenishment scenarios such as replenishing case areas from pallet areas.
Round Up Allocations for Replenishment
During Replenishment with a Picking wave, you now have the option to round up the replenishment quantity to be a multiple of the LPN, case or pack quantity. This further reduces material handling costs.
Support Tasking Mode for Cycle Count by Number of LPNs
For material stored in Reserve Locations that is packed in LPNs, task creation rules now support counting the number of LPNs in Reserve Locations. This helps you create cycle count tasks for Reserve Locations to verify the number of LPN's without needing to break open the boxes to count the quantities packed in the LPNs.
If your warehouse has low cost items that do not require cycle count adjustments to be manually approved, you can now configure your cycle count adjustment threshold for higher cost items or other specific attributes that you want to manually approve. All the adjustments related to items such as lower cost, or those that are not meeting your criteria can be set for automatic approval. Now when cycle counting in deferred mode, you can set up tolerance rules for manual or automatic approvals based on quantity or cost.
Control Waving and Loading of Expired Inventory
To more easily control which orders allow or disallow shipment of expired inventory, you can now configure at the Order Type level whether to allow or disallow expired inventory to be waved, picked, or loaded.
Image-Based Barcode Support in Label Designer
Oracle WMS Cloud Document Label Designer now supports image-based barcodes and QR codes to be used on labels and documents to better support printing of GS1 labels and documents.
Support Pallet Labels in Label Designer
The Label Designer UI now supports designing Inbound Pallet, Outbound Pallet, and Blind Pallet labels.
Print Preview in Document Label Designer
You can now actively test out your expressions in print preview by entering sample data while you are designing your label template.
Create Web Reports Including New Categories
You can now create detailed Web Reports for additional categories and fields in in Oracle Warehouse Management Business Intelligence Cloud. The new categories available in Web Reports allow you to create reports for Oracle WMS Cloud trailer, QC verification history, WMS activities, stock locations, and work order kitting. Additional fields are now available for Orders and Inbound Shipments.
Cancel Wave in Work Order Template
Work order quantities with no components available for waving can be cancelled in the Work Order Wave Template UI.
User Experience and Usability Enhancements
New Mobile RF Single SKU Receiving Option
With 19C, you can more efficiently receive multiple LPNs of the same SKU and quantity without needing to repeatedly scan the SKU and quantity. After receiving the first LPN, the same SKU and quantity are defaulted when receiving the next LPN.
Verify Shipment by LPN/Pallet Number
After completing the receipt of an Inbound Shipment, you verify the shipment which closes the inbound shipment from further changes. In the Verify Shipment Mobile RF UI, you can now verify the shipment by the LPN/Pallet Number in addition to the Inbound Shipment Number.
Add Permissions to Reason Code UI
Reason codes are used throughout Oracle WMS Enterprise Cloud in a variety of transactions, primarily to record the reason for an exception. Now you can configure the Reason Code screen so that some users can view the configured Reason Codes without being able to add, change or delete them.
Lock/Unlock All LPNs on a Pallet
The Mobile RF Pallet Inquiry screen now allows you to select a pallet and apply or remove a lock code to the entire Pallet. This applies or removes the lock code from all of the LPNs packed on the pallet.
Enhancements to Split Inbound Container Transaction
To more efficiently split the contents from one LPN to another LPN, you can now transfer all of the contents or all of the units of an individual SKU. For SKUs that are batch or expiry controlled, you need to confirm the batch number or expiry date of the inventory being split.
Capture Reference Information on Direct Consume LPN Mobile RF UI
When directly consuming an LPN, this issues the material packed in the LPN. When you consume an LPN, you can capture reference information (e.g. reason). The reference information for consuming the LPN is included in the inventory history transaction which can be used by other systems, for example the inventory and cost management module of the ERP.
Ship Load on Load OBLPN Mobile RF UI
In addition to being able to ship loads from the Outbound Load UI, you can now directly ship loads from the Load Outbound LPN Mobile RF UI. This both streamlines the process as well as provides the option to use mobile RF devices to ship loads.
Provide Additional Information on Outbound Load UI
Oracle WMS Cloud checks for missing tracking numbers, pending audit checks and mismatched serial numbers when shipping loads. Additional search criteria, filters, and links are available on the Outbound Load UI to more easily identify the outbound LPNs with exceptions. Externally planned load is also now available on the Outbound Load UI. Efficiently resolving shipping exceptions improves service level to customers and increases the throughput of the dock doors in your facilities.
Provide Additional Information on Shipment Manifest UI
Oracle WMS Cloud checks for mismatched serial numbers when shipping manifests. Now you can search for outbound LPNs with missing serial numbers in the Shipment Manifest UI. Efficiently resolving shipping exceptions improves on-time shipment rates to customers and increases the throughput of the dock doors in your facilities.
Enable Additional Fields as Selection Criteria for Rules
Additional fields are now available for the putaway type determination rules, task creation rules, cubing rules, inbound sorting rules, and Vendor QC determination rules. For example, Externally Planned Load Number is now available in both the task creation rules and cubing rules which allows tasking and cubing to better coordinate the outbound logistics of orders being shipping together on the same load (for example, OTM Shipment).
Putaway rules now support an Item Facility level Putaway type. This allows Putaway determination rules to consider the facility, which allows different preferred putaway locations in different facilities.
Palletize and Depalletize Using a REST API
With the Palletization REST API, you can link an inbound and outbound LPN to a Pallet. This is very helpful for automated warehouses with material handling equipment that palletizes the material. With the Depalletize REST API, you can disassociate an individual inbound and outbound LPN from a Pallet.
You can trigger printing a label to a specific printer using a REST API including LPN Labels, Pallet Labels, and Shipping Labels for Outbound LPNs.
Copy Putaway and Facility-Related Configurations Using REST APIs
You can copy Company-related and Facility-related configurations using a GET request and then using a POST request to create the configuration in the target company/facility. This update includes support for creating company parameters, facility parameters, location size type, putaway priority, putaway type, putaway calc rule, replenishment zones, and SQL Selections (Rule Trees) using REST APIs.
Send Header Level Request Using Input Interface
Oracle WMS Cloud now supports updating the header information for several business entities without needing to also request the detail records which may not have changed. Updating only the header information is now available for inbound shipments, purchase orders, orders, work orders, and route instructions.
The messages displayed to users in the Oracle WMS Enterprise Cloud screens can be tailored. Now you can both export and bulk upload messages.
Improvements to Re-Processing of Inventory History Transaction Records
Inventory History Transactions are created to communicate with other systems transactions that have taken place in Oracle WMS Cloud. When inventory history transaction records need to be re-processed to resend to an external system, you can now mark inventory history transaction records as unprocessed to return them to the status of “Unprocessed” or “Not Ready,”
Enable Auto-Send of Inventory History
Inventory history records various WMS transactions taking place in the facility for purposes of informing the ERP or any other external system that may be interested. In the past the main way to extract these would be via scheduled jobs at pre-determined intervals. Scheduling too frequently may place unnecessary load on the system and scheduling too infrequently may caused delays in notifying the ERP or other systems of critical WMS updates. With 19C you can now automatically send inventory history records as and when they are created. They are sent via the Output Interface setup just like other outgoing messages.
