Warehouse Management

WMS Common

Manage User-Configurable Units of Measure

Warehouse Management now provides the ability to define Units of Measure Classes and Units of Measure (UOM).  UOM Classes represent groups of UOMs with similar characteristics such as count, mass, length, area, volume, and time.  UOMs help your business be more specific about the physical properties of the facilities and items stored in stock locations (e.g., centimeters, inches, etc.…).

Initially, you define a Base UOM that represents the smallest UOM you track in that UOM class (e.g., millimeters).  UOM Conversions allows you to define a standard conversion factor between a UOM and the Base UOM for that UOM Class (e.g., 1 centimeter = 100 millimeters).  You can also define UOMs of type Package UOM to define packaging UOMs within a UOM Class (e.g., Packs and Cases).  Literals are available to enter translations on each of your user-configurable UOMs.

Manage Dimension, Volume, and Weight UOM for Companies and Facilities

You can now define the default dimension, volume, and weight UOM you want to use at the Company level to apply to all facilities.  When you have operations across different regions, you can assign the Dimension, Volume, and Weight UOM for each Facility to reflect the UOMs used in that region (e.g., metric or imperial).  These UOMs are used to define the dimensions, volume, and weight of LPNs and the capacities of stock locations.

Manage Item Primary UOM

You can now assign a Primary UOM to Items and Item Facilities.  In addition, you can now specify Pack UOMs and Case UOMs at the item level using the user-configurable UOMs.  Dimension, Volume, and Weight UOMs are also available to assign to the Standard Pack and Standard Case on the Item definition.  Warehouse Management calculates the total allocatable quantity of an item in active and reserve locations using the Primary UOM.

Explicitly displaying the UOM after the quantity transacted throughout the WMS UIs and RF mobile screens in the user’s language reduces user errors and allow new users to learn WMS more quickly and easily.

Display and Transact UOM in WMS

WMS UI screens now display quantity columns along with the associated UOM. This helps user to identity the UOM type and reduces errors during any given transaction.

Announce Important Product Changes to Users in Popup UI

To better ensure that all product users are aware of essential product changes, a Popup UI will remind users that there are important announcements to review on the My Oracle Support Information Center for Oracle Fusion Cloud Warehouse Management (Doc ID 2422433.2).

Support for Primary UOM and Dimension, Volume, and Weight UOMs in Interfaces

The WMS Interfaces and APIs now explicitly include the UOM on dimension, volume, weight, and Primary UOM is included on the transaction quantities.

Inbound Logistics

Capture and Display Images of LPN in Inbound LPN Inquiry UI

You can now capture images of LPNs and upload those images in the Inbound LPN Inquiry UI (for example, when an Inbound LPN arrives damaged). Integration with Oracle Content and Experience Cloud (OCE) supports tagging and searching for images.

Inventory Operations

Update Movement Request Using a REST API

You now have the option to update an existing Movement Request Header and line details at certain stages of the operation using the Update action code, in addition to creating and deleting.

Pick and Issue Items on Movement Request Leveraging Auto-Consume Flow While Preventing Overallocation

Movement Requests give you the ability to create task-based requests to pick material from storage areas and move them to another location for use cases such as getting materials needed to support a manufacturing work order, re-slotting materials in the warehouse or exception-based movements such as recalled or damaged materials. In this release, you now have the option to automatically issue the materials out of the destination location, such as an assembly location, when the move is executed. Setting the Auto Consume Flag to "Yes" on the Movement Request Detail enables this new Pick and Issue flow. This feature supports Pick and Issue types requests from a manufacturing system where goods are picked and then issued directly to a manufacturing work order.

Inventory History Transaction Support for Movement Request Status Changes

Warehouse Management now includes Inventory History Transactions (IHTs) to support Pick and Move (IHT 87) and Pick and Issue (IHT 91).

Outbound Logistics

Print Labels During RF Direct Allocation

RF Direct Allocation supports allocating inventory by Order or LPN. Now, you can print picking labels and select a label printer from the RF Direct Allocation RF screen.

Pack All SKU Quantities Into an Outbound LPN Using RF Repack Outbound LPN

You can now repack all the inventory for a particular item into an outbound LPN. After scanning the item, you have an option to enter the quantity to be moved to the final container.

Warehouse Workforce Management

Clock In - Clock Out for Users Using a REST API

The Clock In / Clock Out Rest API allows you to Clock In and Clock Out of Shifts and Breaks for one or multiple users to more easily integrate with time management systems.

Cloud SCM Integration

Support UOM in Predefined Integration Mappings

The predefined integration mappings for receipt confirmations, shipment confirmations, and inventory transactions communicate the new user-configurable UOMs for weight, volume, and quantity.  The previous hard-coded values for UOM have been removed from the integration mappings.  If the shipped quantity is sent with UOM of anything other than “Units” in the shipment confirmation payload, then OIC interacts UOM as that specific UOM to Inventory Management.

For example, if the item is a bulk item used in manufacturing and its Primary UOM is a weight  or volume like grams, kilograms, ounces, liters, etc., as opposed to a unit-based Primary UOM like Each, Unit, 1PK, etc. then G, KGS, OZ, L, etc. would be interfaced to Inventory Management.

Pre-Built Integration Mappings for Receipt Confirmations of Serialized Items

The predefined integration mappings for receipt confirmations consolidate multiple serial numbers into a single payload. This applies to the receipt confirmations for purchase orders, transfer orders, and customer returns.

Enhancements to Pre-Built Integration Mappings for Customer Returns (RMAs)

The predefined integration mappings for customer returns has been enhanced to map customer returns to WMS Inbound Shipments and to support serial numbers.
