Warehouse Management

WMS Common

Display Primary UOM in Additional WMS UI and RF Screens

Oracle Warehouse Management introduced user configurable Units of Measure in 22C. Now in 22D, additional UI and RF screens have the capability to display Primary UOM. For additional details on the specific screens that have been enhanced in 22D see the Unit of Measure (UOM) Reference document.

Reorganize Repositories and Introduce Collections in Oracle Content Management Cloud

Oracle Content Management Cloud (OCM) will now be initialized when an OCE-Cloud record is created and saved in the WMS SAAS App Config view.  Additional columns such as “Initialized”, “App Parm 1” and “App Parm2” have also been removed from the view.  This provides a cleaner view of SAAS App Configuration and displays only key fields that are required to initialize OCM.

Updates to Create Support User

The creation of a support user has been enhanced to provide stronger security with the removal of the email address field from the Create Support User pop-up. Once the support user is created, the activation mail containing the Username and Password is automatically sent to the support mailing list. This ensures only the relevant users have access to the login credentials.

Inbound Logistics

Putaway Enhancements for LPN Quantities at the Facility Level

WMS now provides greater flexibility to your putaway and storage strategies by providing the capability to define Maximum LPN Quantity at Item Facility level. By utilizing this feature, you can prevent co-mingling of Full Case and Partial Case LPN’s of Single SKU and put them away to different storage locations based on Putaway Type Determination Rules.

Improvements to Update Action Code for Inbound Shipment Interface

The Inbound Shipment Interface has been improved to assist integration with other Oracle Cloud applications and other back-end ERPs. A new Inbound Shipment can now be created (assuming the matching shipment doesn't already exist) or an existing Inbound Shipment can now be updated using the same UPDATE action code. This will help to simplify the integrations by using UPDATE action code in both Create and Update scenarios.

Support Changes to In Progress Receipts of Inbound Shipments

Oracle WMS now allows changes to IB Shipment Header and IB Shipment Details when the Shipment status is in “Receiving Started" or "Receiving Complete. This makes the IB Shipment in Oracle WMS flexible to handle customer or supplier changes by way of updating the inbound shipment even after the receiving has started.

Inbound Shipment and Order Detail Improvements

Sometimes vendors might not have sent the pallet number, but cartonized LPNs need to be palletized in the warehouse. To support this scenario, you can now associate pallets to cartonized shipment details that are not received in Inbound Shipment details screen using the “Mass Update - Pallet Number” action.

In addition to the UI, you can make changes to IB Shipment Header and IB Shipment Details via PATCH API during all of the Shipment statuses. Users can now edit Order Detail custom fields even when the order status has passed "Created" status.

Direct Putaway Improvements to Matching SKU Logic for Multi-SKU LPNs

Growing on our ability to support a multitude of dynamic slotting capabilities, we have enhanced the logic for Directed Putaway to provide improved logic to our Multi-SKU LPN putaway capabilities when the “Search Location with matching SKU” flag on the Putaway Priority UI is enabled.

Enhancements to Putaway Type Selection Rules

While performing Directed Putaway for containers which are marked as “LPN as Physical Pallet”, Putaway Type Determination Rules now allow users to determine the Putaway Type based on Container's Current Location Attributes. Additionally, the “Enable/Disable” feature can be used to adjust multiple rules in a single click.

Inventory Operations

Create Cycle Counting Tasks for Empty Locations

Warehouse Management now has the capability to initiate cycle count tasks for empty locations, thus helping to improve the inventory accuracy at the warehouse. The cycle count tasks can be initiated for permanent Active and Reserve locations, and dynamic Active and Reserve locations.

Update Multiple Locations Using Mass Update Locations Button

In 22D, it is now easier to mass update selected location fields. For e.g. if the user needs to enable the “To be counted flg” for multiple locations then, in Location UI, filter the locations using the Search option, select the records and click on “Mass Update-Locations” button and in the pop-up enable the flag value and submit the action.

Search and Filter Data by Alternate Item Code

To give you more flexibility in your search and data sorting capabilities, you now have the option to sort and filter by Alternate Item Codes. A new ‘Alternate Item Codes’ field is now available in the search pane and data grid of a number of modules to perform search operations and sort by Alternate Item Code.

Prompt Serials During Replenishment Completion

For industries such as manufacturing where there is a need to identify inventory (such as serial tracked items) being replenished against movement requests/orders to multiple locations, WMS will now prompt for serial numbers during Replenishment. The system will now prompt for serial numbers when multiple locations are being replenished out of the same LPN. This feature helps to ensure inventory accuracy in the warehouse and manufacturing operations.

Movement Request Interface Improvements

To further support the management and flexibility of movement requests in Oracle WMS, you can now update/edit/delete existing Movement Request and line details in the Movement Request UI. UI controls for Create/ Edit/ Copy/ Delete are automatically enabled and disabled based on the status and record selected in the movement request detail.

Support Item Orientation in Critical Dimension Checks for Putaway and Replenishment

Does your business need you to store items in a vertical space? Or perhaps, stacking width-wise in your warehouse might make things easier for the movement of logistics within your warehouse. With this improved functionality in Warehouse Management, you can do all that and more as the system allows you to set alternate parameters for critical dimension validation

Update Movement Request Using a REST API

In order to better react to changing demands, you now have the option to update movement requests when they are in "Created" status, or update details in custom fields during the life-cycle of a movement request, using the new Movement Request Patch API.

GET Support for Item Facility Entity

In order to better support various custom, or PaaS, solutions, GET support has been added for the Item Facility entity allowing you to retrieve information regarding specific entities. For example, an item facility query could assist in passing putaway information for other API calls like Composite Create LPN.

Outbound Logistics

Print Packing Slips During Waving

You can now auto-print documents like Outbound LPN Packing Slip and Task Report as part of the wave process allowing you to print OBLPN Packing Slips once the wave run is completed. After the wave is run, auto-printing of bulk OBLPN packing slips allows pickers to increase picking efficiency.

  • A new drop-down field ‘Document Printer’ is introduced in the Wave Template UI providing a list of document printers.
  • The Column Ordering feature on the Wave Template now allows users to auto-print documents like Outbound LPN Packing Slip and Task Report in a specific sequence as part of the wave process.
  • The ‘Print Label’ action button is renamed as ‘Print Label/Document’ in the Wave Inquiry UI. This action button now supports manual printing of packing slips/task reports and labels through a single pop-up window after completion of the wave run.

Automatic Document Generation During Shipping

In today’s complex and collaborative fulfilment landscape, it’s important let your logistics partners not only know when goods get shipped but provide the appropriate documents to streamline transportation and/or border crossings in a timely manner. The new feature, Auto-Print/Email documents, is triggered when the Outbound Load status changes to Loaded/Shipped. When the status changes, the BOL and Commercial Invoice can be automatically sent to the printer for printing to go along with the shipment and it can also be emailed to freight forwarders and other interested parties.

This new feature is a productivity improvement as it will eliminate the need to manually print the BOL and Commercial Invoice for each load. It will minimize user errors and also allows companies to reduce the amount paper used in their warehouses supporting your sustainability initiatives.

Assign Load Improvements

Productivity in outbound loading is crucial, and reducing the number of scans during that process is important. With our new RF feature, Assign to Load by Order, you can now assign an order to a different load with a single scan, even after some of the OBLPN's for that order have already been loaded or shipped on another load.

Generate Manifest File During Close Manifest

A new action button ‘Generate Manifest File’ has been added to the Manifest UI. This action allows you to manually regenerate the Manifest file after it reaches Closed status. This allows for easier troubleshooting and does away with the need for potential service support to regenerate the file, thereby saving time and increasing efficiency.

AI/ML Predictive Fulfillment Dashboard

Oracle WMS now brings Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning capabilities to help support users in decision making. In 22D, a new Predictive Fulfillment Dashboard is introduced, which gives a glimpse into the future and better insight into your fulfillment operations. This intuitive and easy-to-use dashboard allows you to view predictions for your Order Cycle Time. Using these predictions, we can help you to identify orders that might otherwise be delayed, miss expected service levels and shipping windows, or potentially create a bottleneck in the warehouse.

Cloud SCM Integration

WMS Predefined Integration Mappings to Inventory Management for Supplier ASNs

Suppliers can send Advance Shipment Notifications (ASNs) to you so that you can be better prepared to receive, putaway or stage goods helping you to plan your dock and warehouse operations and streamline the disposition of the goods and pay your suppliers more quickly.

When a Supplier ASN is created in Oracle Fusion Cloud Inventory Management via B2B message, web-service, flat file upload or entered in the Supplier Portal, predefined integration mappings are now available to create an Inbound Shipment to Cloud WMS. When the goods arrive at the warehouse, all of the details about the shipment are pre-populated for ease of validation by your Receiving Agents facilitating more accurate and more efficient receipt, putaway and distribution of goods.
