Warehouse Management

WMS Common

Improve Location Visibility Using Spatial Coordinates

Cartesian coordinates (X,Y,Z) will indicate the position of each location in relation to a fixed reference point, the origin (0,0,0). If you think of a warehouse as a three-dimensional space with a fixed origin, the X, Y, and Z coordinates of a location represent its distance from the origin. Aside from the current six levels of location information - Area, Aisle, Bay, Level, Position, and Bin,  WMS now allows you to add X, Y, and Z coordinates as well as coordinates UOM in the Locations UI.

Geographic coordinates (Latitude, Longitude) can be used to identify any location on the planet and can be referenced by a point with longitude and latitude coordinates. Geographic Coordinate fields have been added to the Facility UI to indicate a warehouse, distribution center, store, or site's precise geographic location.

Access Online Help Button from Warehouse Management Home

You now have a direct link to the current online help on the WMS homepage via a Help button. This allows you to quickly and easily access the most recent and up-to-date help content.

Enhancements to AI/ML Training Template for Market Basket Analysis

When creating an AIML Training Template, setting up the right set of data is of utmost importance. To assist you, a new UI AI/ML Training Date Rule Hdr has been added, which can be used to define exact date ranges and referenced on the training template for performing market basket analysis.

You now have the flexibility to define the AI/ML Training Template that must be used for Market Basket Analysis based Putaway. This is to lay the groundwork for assisting you in performing market basket analysis for putaway, as and when the feature becomes available.

Configuration Export/Import Tool

Whether you're preparing your production environment for go live or your test environment for QA testing, a configuration migration assistant can help by allowing you to export and import configurations from one environment (source) to another (target) in WMS. A new action button is now available in screens such as Inventory Lock Codes, Trailer Type, Work Order Type, Order Lock View, Task Zone, Replenishment Zone, Replenishment Type, and so on, where you can export all or specific records using the option export configuration and import them in the target environment in the same screen using import configuration. Importing configurations can create new records or update existing ones, but it does not delete existing records.

Configure SSO and OAuth Based Authentication Using Self Service Feature

A new module SSO Configuration and Custom Authentication has been added, allowing you to add and modify SSO configurations based on your Identity Providers directly from the UI screen, making it self-serviceable. This configuration is at the parent company level and is not facility specific. A new group permission Manage SSO Configuration and Manage Custom Auth Configuration has also been added to control the CRUD (Create/Read/Update/Delete) operations.

Configurable Option for File Attributes

The max upload file size has been increased from 1 MB to 10 MB, which can be configured from the SAAS App Configuration UI.  From this UI, you can also configure which file types are allowed to be uploaded from a list of 8 allowed file types.

Flexibility to Filter Repositories in OCM Standalone Embedded UI

The repository filter has been added in the OCM Standalone UI enabling you to choose files from the specific repository as required. The collections under Company repository now lists OBLPN TYPE and the collections under Company/Facility repository lists IBLPN, OBLPN, IB SHIPMENT and OB LOAD enabling better search capabilities.

Inbound Logistics

Perform Inbound Receipts in Ordered UOM

In some scenarios, an item may be purchased and/or shipped to a warehouse in quantities other than the item's Primary UoM. For example, depending upon the way in which the vendors ships the Item, even if an Item's Primary UOM is Units, the Inbound Receipt may be transacted in Packs/Cases which may be the Ordered UOM. WMS UOM handling has been enhanced to perform Inbound Receipts in Ordered UOM, improving the ease, speed, and accuracy of the transactions. This also eliminates the need to open the boxes and allows you to receive it all at once, increasing operational efficiency. A new RF screen parameter value has been introduced to enable the users to see and receive the Ordered UOM.

Receive Entire Shipment Using a REST API

In some cases, you may want to fully receive an inbound shipment from a preferred vendor or a transfer order shipment in the destination organization before performing putaway. Similar to how you can receive the entire inbound shipment from UI, you can now use a REST API to receive the entire inbound shipment that is cartonized and is in in-transit status. This will allow you to configure trigger points to call this REST API and initiate shipment receipt.

Capture and Display Additional File Types for Inbound LPNs

In addition to images, you can now upload word documents, excel spreadsheets, and pdf files for IBLPNs.

Capture and Display Files for Inbound Shipments

You now have the ability to upload and view files for Inbound Shipments. The new action button "Upload Files" on this UI screen enables you to upload files, while the new column "Nbr Files" in the data grid allows you to view uploaded files.

Inventory Operations

Receive Replenishment Confirmation for Full LPNs Using a REST API

In the case of MHE/ASRS/AGV replenishment, WMS now allows you to receive Replenishment Confirmation for Full LPNs via REST API, as and when it is completed and processed by these automated systems.

Perform Cycle Counts in Cases and Packs

Cycle counting in a warehouse can take place at the outer packing level, such as Cases/Packs, or at the Unit level, depending on the level of detail required. Cycle counts in Cases and Packs in a Reserve Location are now possible with WMS. This helps to ensure that no time is wasted in manually converting pack quantity to eaches, as well as ensuring cycle count accuracy and reducing instances of the recount. A new RF screen parameter value has been introduced to enable you to count in Cases/Packs.

Create a New Lot in Batch Management UI

When you receive inventory into the facility, a lot is created in the Batch Management UI. There was no option to manually create Lots from the UI screen. So, if you wished to restrict the allocation of specific Lots, you could only do so after the inventory was brought into the warehouse's four walls. You can now overcome this by manually creating the Lots in WMS prior to receiving the inventory and defining the necessary lock codes to prevent these from being allocated. Creating the lots in WMS prior to receiving will also help to auto apply these attributes and allow you to avoid manually entering redundant information, such as expiry date, lock code, and so on.

Update Lock Code/Expiry Date on an Existing Lot Using a REST API

If you use external systems that are integrated with WMS, such as a Batch Management System or a Quality Management System, you may need to update the lock code or expiry date of an existing Lot. WMS now allows you to do the same using a REST API, so you can update the lock code or expiry date and help you adjust to changing requirements on a specific Lot, such as preventing the lot from being allocated or marking the lot for recall.

Populate Movement Request Details in Inventory History Transactions

There are few updates on the inventory history transactions to ensure that your Work Order movement requests integrations with Oracle Inventory are flawless and accurate. The reference field in IHT-87 has been enhanced to capture the destination location in the case of a Pick and Move transaction, so that the transaction can be reflected in the correct subinventory in Oracle Cloud Inventory Management.

Furthermore, when WMS delivers the material to the corresponding supply subinventory or workcenter, the movement request line id is populated on relevant inventory history records, as well as when a movement request is cancelled or shorted in WMS.

Enhancements to Reason Code Handling in Additional UI and RF Screens

Reason codes are used as identifiers in WMS when performing certain transactions, such as modifying the LPN quantity, performing a cycle count, repacking outbound LPN, among others. The reason code prompt behaviour will be consistent with the existing WMS behaviour with this enhancement in additional UI and RF screens and will result in minimizing scanning inputs and errors. You can now prompt/default the reason code for a short in RF Repack OBLPN, default reason code on short in RF Move LPN, prompt reason code on short in RF Outbound Audit and capture reason code for bulk edit cancellation in Order Header UI.

Enhancement to Create Multiple Lots in Batch Management UI Using a REST API

When you receive inventory into the facility or use the POST API transaction, a lot is currently created in Batch Management UI in WMS. Furthermore, a POST API transaction can only create one lot per record per API response. So, if you need to create multiple lots in WMS, you'll need to make several API calls. With this enhancement, you can create multiple lots in WMS with a single REST API call, thereby simplifying the integration.

Enhancements to Movement Requests

Movement Request Line ID can be captured during movement request creation in WMS to ensure accuracy and faster processing of WMS transactions in Oracle Inventory for Movement Requests. As a result, whenever a relevant movement request transaction is completed in WMS, the inventory history record will also include this movement request line id.

The action code UPDATE_CREATE is supported at the Movement Request Detail level to ensure seamless integration of movement requests. This ensures that it will Create a Movement Request Detail if one does not already exist and Update a Movement Request Detail if one already exists.

Send Replenishment Wave Pick Info Using Outbound Interface API

To share the triggered Replenishment Pick info to an external or third-party application, a new output interface file namely “Replenishment Pick Info” is introduced. For this release, the Replenishment information can be shared only for Full LPN allocation.

Along with the output file, information (INFO) is added to the following company parameter:

Parameter Key Parameter Value

OUTPUT_LGF_FINFO_REPL_PICK_INFO

Text Field that takes valid release values

With this parameter, you can configure the Replenishment Pick Info output interface based on the release version.

Outbound Logistics

Enhancements to Selection Criteria Rules Screen

Depending on the complexity of your operation, you may have a mix of orders planned through transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and orders fulfilled through other means that do not involve any load planning. In these scenarios, you may want to consider only those orders for waving/allocation that are not load planned using transportation systems. The new enhancement allows you to do this by providing the selection criteria for this field as null/blank in dynamic wave search.

Aside from the aforementioned, the null/blank value for selection criteria is available in the following screens to meet your varied needs wherein you can select specific orders: Putaway Rules, Task Creation Template, CC Adjustment Approval Rule, Cubing Rules, Audit Rules.

Perform Post Packing Transactions Through Tasking

Previously, users had to exit the RF transaction they were in and navigate to the RF - Post Packing OBLPN updates and handling in order to perform post packing transactions on an outbound LPN. A new task type POST_PACK_HNDL is now available for Post Packing OBLPN updates and handling. This new task type also allows for task zone movements and OBLPN Putaway. Using the control command (CTRL-T: Create Task), users can now create and invoke a task of this type from within non-tasked RF transactions such as Direct Allocation, Repack OBLPN, and Combine OBLPN. This eliminates the need for the user to switch RF transactions to perform post packing updates, increasing warehouse efficiency.

Enhancement to RF Pack OBLPN to Update Outbound LPN to Picked Status

Even if you perform Full LPN pick transactions, there may be times when you need to consolidate these picks to a larger box or a suitable container box at a packing station. It could be that you have small critical components that need to be packed into a larger box and sending LPNs to packed status prematurely sends messages to labeling/weighing systems. In such instances, WMS now allows you to update the outbound LPN status to Picked status rather than Packed. In order to achieve this a new screen parameter oblpn-status-post-picking has been added to the Pack OBLPN module.

Enhancements to Pack Outbound LPN REST API to Support Picked Status

When performing Full LPN picking transactions using Material Handling Equipment (MHE), an enhancement to the Pack OBLPN REST API allows you to move the outbound LPN status to Picked, rather than directly moving to a Packed status. This new enhancement, which is similar to the new parameter in the Pack OBLPN module, will help allow you to perform additional packing actions on these picked LPNs.

Capture and Display Files for Outbound LPN Types and Outbound Loads

You can now upload and view files for Outbound LPN Types and Outbound Loads. On these UI screens, the new action button "Upload Files" allows you to upload files, while the new column "Nbr Files" in the data grid allows you to view uploaded files.

Capture and Display Additional File Types for Outbound LPN

You can now upload word documents, excel spreadsheets, and pdf files for Outobund LPNs in addition to images.

Apply Discount Code for UPS Carriers

In order to ensure that the most competitive rates as well as discounts are passed on to customers, you now have the option the update the discount code, in case the carrier is UPS. In order to enable this field, you need to ensure that the Integration Type is UPS Webservices.

Enhancements to Generation of OBLPN Shipping Info

In order to introduce a common identifier (for externally planned load) to support Warehouse Management and Transportation Management Integration, new Outbound LPN fields have been added.

Enhancements to Planned Load Interface for Transportation Splits of Order Lines

A single order/order line may be shipped in a single load or multiple loads from OTM depending on the Order type, Order quantity, Container/Equipment type, or other deciding factors. The Planned Load Interface has been enhanced to allow shipping a single order line in multiple shipments in WMS, based on the load planning information from the Transportation system enabling your warehouse to wave, pick and pack more efficiently.

Enhancements to Generation of Pallet Shipping Info

In order to introduce a common identifier (for externally planned load) to support Warehouse Management and Transportation Management Integration, new Outbound LPN fields have been added.

WMS Mobile App

Migrate Mobile App to VB Progressive Web App (PWA)

Oracle WMS Cloud Mobile Progressive Web App (PWA) is now available. These apps are delivered via the web but can be installed on Android and iOS mobile devices just like native apps. The WMS Cloud PWA Mobile app has the same access to native device capabilities, such as taking pictures with the camera and scanning barcodes. In each WMS environment, the PWA app link will be available as 'Launch Mobile App' in the global settings dropdown on the right. These apps can be updated more frequently compared to the app store. Future mobile enhancements will only be available for the PWA app.

Warehouse Automation

Support Replenishments of Full LPNs to Warehouse Automation Systems

Imagine a scenario in which automated systems such as MHE/ASRS/AGV, among others, drive your replenishment process using WMS inputs, ensuring the availability of items at their picking locations and thus increasing warehouse efficiency, transaction accuracy, and material availability. With this release, Replenishment of Full LPN in an Automated Warehouse is now possible in WMS. To communicate the Replenishment Info to automated systems, a new Output Interface Configuration: Replenishment Wave Pick Info has been introduced.

When the replenishment is completed, the automated systems will communicate the pick information back to WMS, which can be viewed via the new Replenishment Pick Info UI. WMS also allows you to monitor the incoming pick information from automated systems and intervene as needed.
