National media to deliver new interactive experience to millions of viewers globallyRiyadh, Saudi Arabia—February 1, 2022
Oracle has announced that Saudi Arabia’s leading broadcast outlet, Al Ekhbariya, selected Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to digitize its content, enable governance over its digital materials and adopt a more seamless user experience. Al Ekhbariya will deliver intuitive, on-demand content across different digital platforms to bring the station to millions of Arabs in Saudi Arabia and worldwide.
The Riyadh-based, 24/7 Arabic news and current affairs satellite TV station is using OCI to transform from a conventional news provider to a multi-platform environment providing more ways viewers can consume news and current affairs.
“News consumption patterns are changing dramatically. Our aim is to deliver high quality customised content across multiple digital formats and scale this to reach more viewers. With the Oracle Cloud Jeddah region and proven technical expertise, OCI is best suited to meet our objectives,” said Murtadha Aljama, Digital Platforms Development Manager, Al Ekhbariya.
Al Ekhbariya has also deployed an Oracle Content Management application. The implementation is supporting the creation and activation of content including websites, documents, videos, and graphic assets in one cloud native system. This reduces operational time to create new media and content, and enables easy reuse.
Al Ekhbariya is benefitting from the robust content management system built on an API-friendly platform using OCI for the secure, cost-effective creation and storage of scalable assets. This has improved workflows, collaboration and publishing time, and enabled governance for self-publishing and managing content.
“With access to secure cloud solutions, Al Ekhbariya can now create and store consistent high quality and curated digital content to deliver an excellent user experience. Importantly, they are also seeing significant cost reductions and increased productivity benefits,” said Fahad Al Turief, Managing Director, Oracle Saudi Arabia and Vice President, Cloud, Saudi Arabia and LEENA.
