Oracle Identity Management 11g Release 2: Take Your Identity with You

In July 2012, Oracle unveiled Oracle Identity Management 11g Release 2, the next evolution of its Oracle Identity Management 11g platform that includes a series of new features optimized for mobile, social, and cloud computing—expanding the reach of identity management.

A key component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Identity Management 11g Release 2 is built on Oracle’s platform, with an open-standards approach so that organizations can leverage these technologies out-of-the-box with Oracle Fusion Middleware, as well as with non-Oracle applications and middleware.

Mobile, Cloud, and Social Media: Take Your Identity with You
The new launch comes as consumer use of smart phones and social media skyrockets and employees are increasingly using their own mobile devices to access corporate resources—which makes it much more challenging for IT organizations to enforce and maintain their audit, compliance, and privacy requirements.

In response, Oracle Identity Management 11g Release 2 provides an innovative platform that secures access from mobile devices and enables applications to consume social identities. “We designed Oracle Identity Management 11g Release 2 to meet the new challenges our customers face from today’s digital experience and to help them better secure their existing infrastructure and continue to expand their reach,” says Naresh Persaud, director of product marketing, Oracle."
