Industry-Leading New SPARC Servers Power Oracle Optimized Solutions

Oracle recently introduced three enhancements to the Oracle Optimized Solutions lineup that draw on the industry-leading computing power of the new Oracle’s SPARC T5 and SPARC M5-32 servers (see related story).

Oracle Optimized Solutions lower costs and reduce risks in the deployment of mission-critical enterprise environments by running Oracle software and hardware systems engineered together within the complete Oracle stack. Oracle designs, tests, documents, and tunes these end-to-end solutions for optimal performance and high availability. The architectures are based on uniquely matched components, including Oracle's engineered systems, servers and storage, operating systems, virtualization, database, middleware, and enterprise applications.

The latest Oracle Optimized Solutions deliver new levels of performance and reliability for implementations of Oracle Database, enterprise cloud infrastructures, and Oracle WebLogic Server.

Oracle Optimized Solution for Oracle Database incorporates SPARC T5 or SPARC M5-32 servers for superior performance in mission-critical databases. By deploying a database solution based on these new servers, enterprises can save money by consolidating legacy SPARC database infrastructures. Organizations could realize a 12-to-1 consolidation ratio for significant reductions in space, power, and hardware costs. Enterprises can also clone production database systems on demand up to 50X faster than using traditional manual methods.

Oracle Optimized Solution for Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure with SPARC T5 servers effectively doubles virtualization capabilities and dramatically accelerates deployments. The optimized solution increases system utilization by up to 90 percent while also reducing space requirements and improving response times for on-demand resource requests. In addition, organizations can accelerate time-to-service rates by deploying Oracle Optimized Solution for Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure in days instead of weeks for traditional implementations. The optimized solution offers up to 50 percent lower total cost of ownership versus disparate solutions from competing vendors.

Oracle Optimized Solution for Oracle WebLogic Server for SPARC T5 is a powerful consolidation platform that offers industry-leading performance and the ability to lower IT costs by reducing the number of systems required to run an application server. The optimized solution is pretested and includes comprehensive documentation of best practices that reduce sizing, configuration, and ordering and testing efforts, and lower the risk of in-service downtime.
