World on a String? Try Oracle Functions

Bob Quillin is fond of calling this the “golden age for developers.” It’s a revolution, Oracle’s VP of developer relations says: “You can use the same technology that any large organization can.”

The popularity of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation shows that open source is democratizing advanced tools. Now, the open source Fn Project has grown up and Oracle is announcing the general availability of Oracle Functions and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Events Service as part of the Oracle Cloud Native Framework.

The funny thing is, developers traditionally left site reliability to the ops team. Do you think the world will go back to the way it was, with DevOps and SREs caring about Kubernetes while app developers worry about algorithms, or will automation make these divisions disappear completely? Write me with your thoughts.
